Thank you, I'm happy to hear that you found this video helpful! The hike to rainbow mountain is not challenging at all - the tour drove us right up to the trail, which is very flat (but the elevation is very high, so you might get light headed). I hope you have a great time in Cusco!
At close to 4,000 meters it's starts getting really cold and you get sick if you are not used to the altitude. The rainbow mountain is at 5,200 meters. Chewing coca helps, or drinking coca tea, but nothing works as well as letting your body get used to the altitude. I would recommend waiting a few days before going from Cusco (3,300 m) to above 4k and even more if you are reaching 5k.
Thanks for the video. All the guides videos are suggesting not to drink locally made juices due to mixing of unfiltered water. What's your take on that ? You seem to have enjoyed mercado juice.
No problem! And I think that's generally good advice. I wouldn't drink tap water in Peru and I'm usually a little hesitant about ice being served in my drinks, but at the market it was mostly fruit that was used for the juice and we kind of just went for it. We felt fine afterwards, but I think you are right to bring that up for consideration!
Thank you! I’m in Cusco for about a month. Excited to do these things!
@@VianoMusicAcademy no problem, I hope you have a great time. We also stayed for a month, it was a great base for exploring this part of Peru!
Thanks for sharing this video🙏🏽🥰
No problem 😊
@@WanderlustWellman are you still at Cusco? I just arrived from Indonesia 🇮🇩 but I had altitude sickness 🥲
Unfortunately I am not, but I'm really sorry to hear that - I'd recommend drinking some coca tea or getting some altitude medicine if you can.
great video, we are planning on going next year....
@@tomhanson2859 thanks so much, you will love Cusco 😁
