    Join Joe, Cooper and me for a hike in the rugged and beautiful Pukaskwa National Park on Lake Superior's north shore. We are constantly adapting to the changing weather and the rocky and at times, very steep terrian.
    The scenery is spectacular as we hike our way in and out of the woods and along the shoreline. The north shore of Lake Superior is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful places in the world.

    That Cooper was so good with that bridge! We took are dog to Tahquamenon and went down 95 stairs like that. Down was fine, but I carried her 60 lbs ass back up because the expanded metal bothered her paws!

      @toshselfpropelled  2 года назад

      That sounds rough!! Cooper wasn’t the biggest fan of that metal grate either. I’m sure it doesn’t feel very nice on his pads.

    Having done 3 kayaking trips along the Pukaskwa coast I can really appreciate that Lake Superior is the real master there. We were wind bound for 3 days on one of those beaches on one trip. The last 10 day trip I took was hot, sunny and beautiful, and can never be bettered. However, I cringe at the thought of hiking it! Well done you 3.

    Thanks. Love the coast of Superior. Everyone who lives in Ontario should experience it. Glad you made it out ok. Interested to find out what caused the sickness….lack of salt…heat exhaustion….I have no idea. Did not know those bridges would be an issue for a dog.

    • @toshselfpropelled
      @toshselfpropelled  2 года назад +1

      I agree. It's such a beautiful place. I think it was salt loss that caused the issue. Or rather to much water and not enough salt!

    Love the look of those secluded coves, the beach and the big lake behind them. You sure had to work for 'em though, quite a slog at times. I felt for you towards the end, you looked uncharacteristically spent, but no wonder! Regardless, a memorable trip for sure. Fun to watch!

    Absolutely gorgeous. As someone who grew up on the west coast of Canada I certainly agree this area looks very similar. The coves really remind me of home. Is that an uberlite you're sleeping on?

      They are similar for sure. Yes, sleeping on the uberlite.

    • @trikelife4960
      @trikelife4960 2 года назад

      @@toshselfpropelled could I ask how you like the uberlite? I'm considering one but worried about stories of them being loud and not suitable for temps near freezing.

    • @toshselfpropelled
      @toshselfpropelled  2 года назад +2

      They are louder then many other mats. It doesn't bother me though. And although much lighter then most, they're more fragile as well. If you're primarily concerned about weight, it could be worth it. I use a NeoAir X-Therm in the winter. It's warmer, thicker, wider and longer but is much heavier as well.
