It's pretty clear that advertisers think all humans are stupid and pathetic if in bizarrely spcific ways.
yup.
Lol!!! Suprise, humans are. Not some. All. That includes you. The reason the top people at these corporations have so much more money than you is because they understand this fact and utilize it while you throw money at them with your head up your ass
Jonathan Lewis Speak for yourself.
So that also includes these top people at corporations you talk about, how did they escape the trap? Besides, who am I throwing money at? I have been to the same supermarket (the one nearest me) for years and bought the same type of bread (he one I like) despite various ads trying to convince me to go somewhere else and try something different thrown at me every time I watch a wrestling show.
+Cynical Cthulhu Nah, they've just run out of ideas and decent comedians.
90% sure the joke with the clumsy guy saying he got the job was intended as "he's clumsy, he destroys everything" because he got a job in demolition, which they say.
Probably hired to save money on dynamite. Just shows up at the job site and the building comes down.
anthropologist here! take me to your antiques
totally replied to the wrong comment, but it still works here!! kinda...
Yes, but (and I’m sure everybody reading this is thinking the same thing), a clumsy person is the LAST person you want on a demolition site.
"What"
"Is it a pop tart?"
I don't know why I find it so funny
and mini Groodrich.. the modest wife of a polygamist.. I about spat out my soda.. haha
i watch this video for that line.
Best line in the video.
6:53 if anyone’s wondering
Holy fuck. i choked on nothing laughing so hard
"Omg I'm so manly, I'll drink a Bud Light to underline my masculinity" - said no one ever.
OMG 6 years later Kidd Rock is saying that lol 😂
Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one who noticed lol
The google thing is quite amazing, though. I signed up for a website that I needed for college while using google chrome, and when I checked the 'female' box while making my profile, google took note of it. After that I've gotten more ads for shoes, dresses, kitchen utensils, and house cleaning products than usual. I'm not mad, I just find it funny.
What I'm wondering is-- I thought women no longer took care of houses, so why are they being targeted for kitchenware?
AtariMaxiToriyama Women do take care of houses more than guys still. At least, where I live they do. At least they are no longer expected to, but it's a matter of whether we are smart enough to marry a man that knows how to do his own laundry/smart enough to teach our sons how to take care of themselves. You have no idea how many guys I know who always had their mother clean everything, even their own rooms, and are completely useless once they leave the nest!
Winter X
Oh? Where do you live? This sounds like a lovely place with feminine women.
AtariMaxiToriyama I'm around the Seattle area, sorta in the countryside. (That probably explains it haha) Our girls here are empowered just enough that they can freely choose the lifestyle they desire, which is great, but nobody has been teaching them lifestyles outside of what they and their parents grew up with, so it is this strange mix of new and old values that kind of conflict with each other. I like to think I have a good handle on who I am and what I want for myself, but eh, I'm young and will probably make mistakes here and there like everyone else. How is it where you live?
Winter X
*Great, mournful sigh*
What I am saying is true of 90% of women I see:
Dyed hair.
Too much makeup.
Awful fashion sense.
Following any and all trends to the exclusion of a single personal touch.
The women sleep around with little concern, and in two years I have known-- three women who have had kids outside of wedlock, despite their "boyfriends" being dead-beats, or having minimum wage jobs.
What's worse?
Every woman has attitude.
The kind of women who take one step forward, lift a finger in scolding and pan their heads back and forth like they're about to school you.
They're all either obnoxious, goofy or full of attitude; but none with the intelligence to hold an intellectual conversation about anything that doesn't involve a drunken exploit or children.
I think a good word to sum up the women here is "dull".
All of this, and yet they think being a housewife is practically demeaning, and they have so little concept of how to raise a child that they think they would become "bored" at the house with nothing to do. Raising a child is a 24/7 job, and if you do not know that -- or if you are raising your kid, somehow, in such a way that it is NOT true -- then you have no business having a child.
Oh, did I mention that they ALL want children? The only women who like me are at least sixty pounds overweight, even that I'm only fifteen pounds overweight, myself. I don't ask for the thinnest girl, but c'mon! At least be in my weight class.
Anyway, I'm just now entering a job wherein I'm making a pretty decent amount of money (if I remain single or only have a girlfriend).
Oh yeah, and most of the women are trailer-trash, or just trashy. Many of them look like they've been on drugs for a long time, even though they're only in their early twenties.
Even the pretty girl I spot every once in a while is usually "dolled" up with makeup, or slouches (did I mention almost every girl slouches?) or sucks at walking in heels, or dresses like a slob.
Or is taken.
It's not like I'm seeing the girls and failing to get with them.
I'm just not seeing any girls I would consider dating.
#2 is actually just a placebo affect
missed the point.
Exactly it's showing how powerful a placebo is and how most beauty products are placebos and you're not idiot for falling for it, you're human because you fell for it.
Le Horse Yes. But there point is that they expect woman are stupid enough to believe a patch will give them self confidense
The placebo *effect requires that you believe that it'll work. A pill that will treat your disease? Plausible. A patch that will make you pretty? Either magic or a major scientific breakthrough that should have been all over the news.
I was gonna say that, and that men fall for that too in scientific studies cause authority has that power
I can sense the fedoras coming.
MRAs scare easily but they will be back and in larger numbers
I own a fedora and it makes me extremely sad to see them associated with douchebaggery.
No need to discriminate against fedoras, equal rights for all hats!
Hmm?
Can we stop this? Forever?
"Hoo boy I bet this will really rile THE ENEMY. I can't wait to drink THEIR TEARS. Fedora fedora fedora."
It's so much less clever than you imagine.
Usually the boss isn't working the counter. their in their office doing other boss stuff.
+Michael Giles fucking finally, i thought i was the only one thinking this xD
+Michael Giles Which explains why the delivery guy was looking towards where the office would be.
+Michael Giles
That is _EXACTLY_ what I was thinking. She's the idiot in that add.
If you own the business, you do everything. If you're a manager, and get paid a few bucks above minimum wage, then sure, you sit in the office playing Candy Crush, I mean doing boss stuff.
***** Good point.
men and boys spend a lot of time shopping and primping. the boys at my kids elementary school go all out with the bright socks and shoes and hats. stuff looks expensive, too.
I love how much effort they put into the end card video just trying to make it sound awkward and scripted as possible; so good.
Bronies can't have opinions, and shouldn't have the right to comment
Scrotor Not True. We love our Bronies.
Avocado Brony I only watch the end plates.
Cracked You guys just got cooler by a percentage between 19 and 21%!
He was saying he liked it...
And you want to literally oppress him for something his likings?
Gee, I had no idea we lived in the dark ages...
There's no reason for the delivery man *to* expect that she's the boss. There's no reason for him to assume the first person he talks to is the boss. Do you think he should say, "are you the boss?". He didn't even insinuate that she isn't the boss, as he just said, "I need the boss's signature."
Well, the whole scene was off. Normal person, even if he did or didn't know would be polite and actually look at the person he's talking to, and said "I need the boss's signature."
Lets be honest it wasn't that she was a women its because she looked like a recovered drug addict mixed with a cat lady. Which shows you the power of Microsoft even you too can run a business after recovering from homelessness and drug addiction.
@@stuff2008 The stick was clearly, oh i´m a girl AND a boss. The UPS-guy wasn´t the bad part, the storyline was
Ok, normally I only get a chuckle from these videos. But that poptart line actually got me good lol.
Love how they show the "husbands are stupid" stereotype at the very end then do their best to explain it away....
I've be disappointed if it was beer and not cheese...
man, youtube comment sections are scary, scary places
I wonder what it says about our current society that people insist on arguing about every single thing? I choose to think of it, honestly, as a sign that individual autonomy is growing - people are finding it easier and easier to espouse and express their own personal views - although an argument could be made (and probably will be) for a widespread de-maturization (not a word but I'm using it anyway) of today's internet-using population.
Either way, I'll just sit on the sidelines watching and then run away when I get too frustrated. Ah, how I love the pure, unadulterated freedom of the internet~
Rose Petraev Fuck you. You are wrong and stoopid.
You know I'm right.
I disagree very strongly and will pretend like I know you and demean you when I can't think of anymore reasons to prove I'm right.
You additude towards this subject is very "feminine"
I like to use a simple test, before commenting: Is this a thing I would say in person, or, am I only typing it because I think I'll never meet (so-and-so) face-to-face?
I mean it could be because we'll likely never meet each other and because everyone is done with everyone's bs but yeah.
Well to be fair to the UPS guy the boss usually doesn't sit behind the front counter.

@@Rex13013 In a small cafe, not that unusual
And that is why commercials are the worst thing in the world
Yup. Literal mid-control.
No no no, the worst thing in the world is a RUclips ad immediately after a RUclips ad, the person who came up with it should be shot dead
The Dove commercial was not trying to make women look stupid. It was using the placebo effect to show that self confidence has nothing to do with how you look but how YOU perceive YOURSELF. People use the placebo effect all the time. How you guys didn't figure that out is kinda sad lol.
ChillsandThrills I think everyone figured that out, but the point they were making was that this particular placebo effect was so obvious that these women should never have fallen for it.
Gonna have to agree with Austin on this one, beauty patch makes no sense at all.
austininflorida but then that's their fault for falling for it, you'd be surprised what people with low self esteem will believe
austininflorida People tend to believe a lot of stupid things. That's why we have idiots championing for homeopathy and creationism in our medical and teaching professions and don't get me started on those that flitter away their cash on psychics and all that medium. The dove ad seems tame in comparason.
+ChillsandThrills Did you not see all the white girls
The ad at the beginning keeps glitching and slows the whole thing down, ohh
Same
whenever you see it say video will play after advert it will keep buffering. RUclips won't listen to is so cracked owe it to us to get it sorted.
7:51 on the left side of the poster...
"return baby to hospital"
I DIED 😂
You know what the shitty part about being a white male is? That no matter how shitty your life is or how low you are on the totem pole, people treat you like you've got some wonderful perfect life full of advantages. Like the white guy working near minimum wage flipping burgers has some great leg up on the woman who's a Senior Director of Marketing or some crap because he's the white guy and she's the woman. Because so many OTHER white guys who aren't him and don't know him from Adam have so much power and wealth. I think next time I'm at the supermarket and see one of the homeless white guys with a sign on a piece of cardboard saying "HOMELESS POOR PLEASE HELP", I'll just say "Hey buddy, it aint so bad. You've got white male privilege. At least you're not black or a woman or anything that unfortunate.
that white guy flipping burgers is a waste of white skin and most likely so are you.
yea we really should treat people as individuals not just assume oh youre white so you must be really lucky then
Actually that is not the case. It is straight, white, hetrosexual, middle class male. So yeah they are the ones who have it good.
SkkyKidd You don't undderstand what i'm saying
Michael Alizzi k watevs
I feel like the sneaking around to watch football thing is kind of accurate... Know quite a few others' relationships that were strained over that
Best line: "Is it a pop tart?"
I think the lesson here is that most human beings are actually stupid, after all, these adds exist because they sell products... so on a twisted level their content is vindicated. Capitalism, showing us what awful people we actually are.
Well, these ads exist because they matched some exec's vision of how people think.
*The majority of humans have shown signs of being stupid for 2000+ years. . but hey sadly enough this dumb species keeps breeding and moving along like nothings wrong*
Sadly dumb people and the less educated breed more
Sharon Mitchell Well, if smart people got off their lazy asses and picked up some slack, they could have lots of kids too. Ahh...but it's too hard for you people, huh? Think you have to be a multi-millionaire to have more than 2 kids, huh? At least dumb people aren't stupid enough to overthink their genes out of existence.
It's simple really. Privilege has a lot less to do with what is between your legs and what color any part of you is than it does where you were born and how much money belongs to the people who made you.
northdakotagamer EXACTLY!!!!!
northdakotagamer privilege is beauty and intelligence. Nothing else
Yeah ,but a white male born into a middle class family in the suburbs, and a black woman also born in the same family would still not have the amount of privilege.
northdakotagamer Yeah I completely agree. And I just wanna say as a general statement, women are not oppressed, and socially speaking I'm pretty sure they're the ones on top.
@@AnimeFreakish78 and money
this is bullshit! why else would i practice making towers of cards if it wouldn't give me a hot date? I feel so lied to right now
Dove really just showed the placebo affect, can make any of us look dumb

i love how comment sections on cracked videos always complain about "stop taking this shit seriously, stop talking about this, this is a useless video, why would you even make this"
its an entertainment channel. to entertain you. to give you things to watch in your spare time that are interesting and fun to watch. it takes various topics and discusses them. because that is fun and entertaining. because that is what cracked does. it doesn't have to have a purpose. no one is trying to change the world here. this is an entertainment channel. what part of this concept do you not understand
Omg, I HATE those "honestly" commercials. And now I hate that song too.
Okay, after legitimately watching that video carefully; I really have to ask how realistic this all is? Please, when answering; keep in mind that I am an 18 year old senior in high school, preparing to major in Psychology when I go to college this coming August.. So yeah; I would love this channel to be completely, 100% blunt, positive yet realistic as well. Thank you ahead and keep uploading. Love the comedy part of the videos. They make it all very entertaining and fun to watch!
We desperately need eguality on both sides, Women should get egual pay, and men should be treated with respect, people will have you believe that only women are mistreated, and that's bullshit. In addition, women shouldn't have to feel like they have to prove their worth, like, "Hey, look at me, I'm a CEO, and you have a shitty desk job." or "I could kick your ass in a fight.", that just make you seem like whiney overeacher, instead of a decent, respectful human being. Both men, and women should be treated fairly.
TheMightyCongueror but the wage gap is a lie
I'm glad I'm not the only guy disgusted by that Dove campaign. All beauty product ads take women for idiots, but Dove adds hypocrisy to the mix...
By pointing out that confidence us all in your head? And that a placebo can achieve that confidence with zero change to your physical appearance? I still dont get how this is insulting. Everyone can fall for a placebo
DriscolDevil there have been cases of even knowing its a placebo still has a beneficial effect from going through the motions of using something.
Showing someone falling for a placibo isnt an insult.
Also, picking not overweight and not disfigured people may well be intentional but a placebo will be less beneficial to those people who would be more likely to hace much deeper psychological issues about their appearance that a placebo wont negate.
If you go looking for things to be offended by in anything, you will find things. Well done
DriscolDevil I never said she knew it was a placebo I said placebos can work even if the person knows they are a placebo to make my point that 'falling' for a placebo isnt an insult.
So you are trying to say its a stereotype, in what way? the being emotional? are you trying to say no women would react that way when told they felt more confident in themself when their appearance didnt change? Most would feel emotion from that experience. Would you rather they did the advert and have the women say 'what the fuck ever, I dont care'?
And so can no advert show a woman crying, because you think its a 'stereotype'? If you start using that word for things people actualy do then you've made it lose all meaning
You want me to understand what the heck you are talking about then maybe you should explain your rational behind the things you say. What exactly makes you think the women In the ad had no idea what a placebo effect is? How exactly is it supposed to be a compliment?
The ad didnt show if they knew what the word placebo means, it showed them that they can feel more confident without changing their appearance. A company saying you dont need their products to feel confident...Yet you manage to complain about it?
Graeme Evans Don't you see the contradiction? You stated yourself "A company saying you don't need their products (...)". If you swallow that, your more gullible than the women portrayed in the ad. Dove ads are nothing but hypocritical bullshit hidden under some PSA front about self-confidence. They just want to appeal to women that are disgusted by typical beauty products, while they (Dove) are nothing but a branch of the company they pretend to criticize. THIS is why they take women for idiots, and THIS is why I am disgusted.
Unilever doesn't give a shit about women's self-esteem, they just wanna sell soap.
*watching video*
"Okay, why does anyone give a solitary fu-"
*MRA tirade appears*
"...Ooooooh noooooo...what have I found."
The first few commercials were funny, but you saved the best for last.
Since I apparently have no fucking life, here goes…
Beer: Yeah, okay, these adverts are dumb. This is not why I'm here. Oh, wait, "Man, guys have completely lost their fucking minds, haven't they?" No. These are advertisements made by advertising companies, not magic windows into the collective male psyche.
Dove: The placebo effect is a well documented phenomenon and "falling for it" (in some cases people actually recover faster from illness just from the illusion of placebo medicine helping; the power of positive thinking, eh?) doesn't make you dumb. "… women's problems are all in their heads?", when their problem is body dysmorphia, yes, yes it is in their heads.
Computers (for her [sic]) - Buying shoes, dancing, going on dates and getting married are all things that many women do. Targeting their ads at the 100 or so female particle physicists in the country might not lead to a huge spike in sales. Plus, it's a fucking tickle-me-PC designed for simple people and folks who already have a computer but want an expensive toy to sit on the couch with. What do you expect her to be doing with it? Calibrating sensitive lab equipment? Maybe the UPS guy doesn't think she is the manager (yes, manager, who the fuck refers to them as "The Boss" aside from some tool trying to establish their own nickname) because she is just standing there behind the counter waiting like a part-time barista.
SSD: Yes I too am shocked at the fact that the housewife who barely uses a computer doesn't know what an SSD drive is and the other two do. Housewives are notorious for their tech knowledge, systems analysts from around the world travel
thousands of miles to consult the wisdom of the American housewife. All three characters are stupid and fucking weird looking. NEXT.
Feminist Bullshit: Does it matter what the adverts are for? Apparently this is just a platform for feminist propaganda. I personally don't give a shit about advertising but you're being a massive hypocrite by first complaining about women being, "made to think they're crazy", or "given a placebo" as normal people would call it; yet when men are depicted as bumbling retards you choose to go off on an unrelated rant about how privileged men are and hold up a picture of a few dozen portraits of white men who have been dead for centuries. What the fuck does this have to do with anything?
6:54 Whose mother here would know what an SSD was? Show of hands. Exactly! What nerds and stock brokers here do? All of you?! Of course!
Yes. And it would be fine if it wasnt always some middle aged housewife mother. But it usually is.
My dad is literally the worst person to ask about anything computer, gadgets related things. He would never figure out how to use an SSD. so it's not just ''moms''.
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of business men, who have no idea about SSDs. The get their tech from the IT, knowing about SSD ist not important for them? :D
My mom is actually really smart with computers and knows its basic terminology.
My mom is a bit of an outlier so she actually does. However she fits nearly all of the stereotypes and she's an outlier. Most stereotypes about women are true. You can't say the same for male stereotypes because men vary a lot more than women.
"Is it a pop tart? :)"
I spat out my drink, that was too funny!!
I'm so glad they only spent a couple of seconds on the creepy "guy is married to a strangely arousing puppet" ad. I used to have nightmares about that damn commercial.
A lot of this "sexism" isn't even sexism... Guy too dumb to do simple chores? Sexism. Women hating football/beer? Sexism. Women planning weddings on a tablet? Not sexism. That's just something a bride-to-be does. They plan weddings. Woman owning a business? Definitely not sexism. The delivery man not thinking she couldn't be the boss? The character *could* be being sexist or he could just be asking a normal question, but the advertisement is certainly not sexist. All those car crash commercials? I don't see what that has to do with sexism at all. Stereotypically, women are bad drivers. If they showed a woman that couldn't parallel park and then followed up with a man doing it for her then that would be an example of sexism but these ads had nothing sexist in them at all. If any thought went into the sex of the character for these ads it was probably to chose a male to specifically *avoid* looking sexist.
Besides the fact that this is comedy, the topic is Sexist Stereotypes, not Sexism.
this just went right over your head didnt it
Blackmark52
Sexism = Sexist Stereotypes. I also didn't find this very comical since they were just making most of it up.
While I agree, I can't say that all ads were not sexist. The one he showed where the trio were commenting on new tech, the woman really stood out as the inexperienced housewife who has nothing important to do. Also, the last part of men being stereotypically dumb is pretty bad.
Actually, there is a video of a woman trying to back out of a space, and a man comes along and does it for her.
Is real life sexist?
You clearly do not know what sexist means, so I'll inform you:
Sexism is hatred or discrimination against one sex or the other.
Stereotyping is not sexist.
Love how you expertley managed to twist that last one into sexism against women....almost genius, really
Ads are like caricatures, they attract your attention using extreme methods that sometimes seem nuanced or disguised.
2 years after this video was released, Cracked now has nearly 10 times the subscribers it had in the outroduction to the video.
Now I have coffee all over my monitor. Thanks a lot. I hope you're happy with yourselves.
that was enjoyable
Hey all of you angry geniuses arguing about whose more repressed (this isn't tumblr, by the way, that competition doesn't work here).
I just thought I'd mention that maybe it's possible that there are actual and legitimate social issues facing people in all demographics and, maybe just maybe, admitting that others having persistent issues that are unfair challenges to their races and genders (yes, even white males and, yes white males, even white females!) doesn't undermine the problems that face your own?
Maybe we aren't actually achieving anything by bickering about whose got it worse and maybe we're all actually behind hypocritical when we bitch about our problems, then turn around and totally invalidate someone else's problems?
I can't wait to see if people think I'm a SWJ or a MRA, based on this.
This is probably my favorite spit take episode. Jack, I know you're busy being the president of cracked, but make more spit take!
7:54 GodDAMMIT Edmonton, you couldn't generate positive press for yourself if your massively high murder rate depended on it.
Love this because lovely people need to know that good feminists don't think women are better, they believe in equal rights for all genders.
I would like to see just one commercial where Guy A, who did the stupid thing, is black and guy B, who did the smart thing, is white. The doofus can't always be the white guy.
+Jeremy Kreis Hah. Not going to happen anytime soon. That would be ... "racist".
Or maybe more acting jobs go to white ppl.
+hihkable
I think Jeremy's point was that you will often see a commercial where a white guy is doing something in a goofy/nerdy, incompetent way, then the camera will pan over and you see a black guy staring at the white guy like the white guy is an idiot, then proceeds to do the same task, but in a normal, competent manner. Or some variation thereof. So, the point is that, in advertisements, it's okay to make fun of white people but it would not be okay to make fun of black people. Not really having anything to do with who gets more acting jobs.
+Paul Vanukoff I don't want this to turn into like some adverserial hostile arguement, so pls don't take my disagreeing with u as an insult. But I can't think of an example of the situation of which u described, with the white idiot and black guy who disapproves(I'm sure it has happened but clearly not enough for me to be able to remember one). Yeah, lots of parts of dumb ppl in commercials are white, but I just think that's cause there are overall more white actors who consistantly get work.
+hihkable Could be. I know I've seen commercials like that. It really doesn't bother me though :)
That car going over the cliff made me laugh.
I've watched quite a few of your videos in the last couple of days. This one was my favorite. Hysterically funny. I laughed until I cried. Good job!
Women depicted poorly in ads: "oeh those evil men and their sexist ways, pandering to other evil men who think the same way"
Men depicted poorly in ads: "oeh those evil men and their sexist ways, making women consumers look evil"
Man = evil. Woman = good.
Got it, Cracked.
As Neil Postman pointed out in Amusing Ourselves to Death, “The television commercial has oriented business away from making products of value and toward making consumers feel valuable, which means that the business of business has now become pseudo-therapy. The consumer is a patient assured by psycho-dramas.”
top ten most insightful. I cant find this commentary anywhere else on the inter web, thanks for that!
Wait, there are actually men's rights activists? Really?
Yes, yes there are they range from slightly rational demands about paternal rights for children, with an underlying anti-feminism, to bat shit crazy anti-feminist crypto-nazis, e.g. Return of Kings.
+Jason Stelzer yeah haha fathers wanting the right to be involved in their childs life, what a trivial concern!
Yes. Once you take away the assertions of privilege placed on men by feminist and SJW groups, and look at pure statistic without thought terminating cliche, you will find that men are actually disadvantaged in a good many ways.
*Prime Example:* Feminists can him and haw about female genital mutilation in a third world country on the other side of the planet, acting as if it is validation for their positions and assertions, when we live in a society where roughly 206 male genitals are mutilated every minute. (U.S. Statistic, might be different in other parts) and we think it's natural and normal.
I'm not trying to invalidate your argument by saying it could be much worse, but the fact you are trying to compare the two as being equally damaging to the parties is a bit silly. I agree with you, I don't think circumcision should be allowed to be decided for children against their will. It's wrong to decide for your child to alter their body, but the reason people pay more attention to female genital mutilation even though the numbers are smaller is because the way they are done in these countries, as opposed to the way its done in America, is physically harmful and can kill some of these people. It's not /just/ because they're women. If circumcision was causing men in America unbearable physical pain and killing them, I'm sure it would get just as much attention, but the fact of the matter it's more of a cosmetic procedure than anything. It's like piercing your kids ears as a baby or giving them a tattoo, It's wrong and shouldn't be allowed, but its not a health crisis.
+Mista Gibbs It not like a piercing. Both circumcision are done to remove the pleasure of sex from both genders. Both are completely unnecessary. Both circumcisions can lead to medical problems down the road and can cause deadly infections when performed in places where proper medical procedure are not followed. There are accounts of boys dying from infection, having the penis remove due to a botch procedure, pain during erection because too much skin was cut off, and baby boys contracting HIV/STDs from a mohel.
Not to mention that the penis and foreskin are attached at birth. Much like your nail is attached to the soft delicate skin beneath your nail. essentially its like ripping a nail off a finger. Only on a place that has thousand of nerves more.
Question: if female circumcision were done in a sterile medical facility and there was some evidence for medical benefit. Do you think western society would think of it ok?
So truth! Many advertisers consider both women, men, kids and senior citizens as incredibly stupid.
Remember folks, the power of advertising in media is a powerful powerful thing. Just because you claim to not be affected by some commercial, you're still affected by another commercial.
I love his sarcasm in this video.
I think the purpose of the Dove beauty patch ad thing was to promote a positive outlook and to show what that alone can do for your quality of life. It doesn't mean they were suggesting all of their problems were in their head.
Seriously this is a comedy show why does this guy keep putting feminism in every ad and then at the end take time out to insult MRAs? Make a rant blog if you want but please keep your ideology out.
redsun2001 Because MRAs are so pathetic they're hilarious?
+Redsun2001 Why wouldn't you want feminism? Men and women being treated equally sounds like a good thing to me. If everyone was a legitimate feminist, then we wouldn't have sexism - the women who hate men are just misandrists, even if they try to push it as "feminism".
Master Markus There shouldnt be feminists, there should be equalists.

Ach! It's been called feminism for years, but if the wording rubs you the wrong way, call it "equalists" or something similar all you like. Just don't be sexist.
Master Markus You're not understanding, if feminists want equality, they should seek it for everyone. Not just one group of society. Because by seeking only one group to be equal, you show you're ok with everything else just as long is they're not sexist.
Pleasantly surprised by this channel. Was expecting g another wannabe but these guys walk the walk! Subscribed! ;)
"is it a pop tart"
lololol, I died laughing
one thing you're forgetting when it comes to the idiot househusband trope used in commercials however is that those commercials are targeted at women, it's what they want to see, it doesn't matter who creates the commercial.
also MRA's are not saying men have it worse than women, we're saying we have issues too that need to be adressed, issues that in many instances are more pressing than the bullshit feminists complain about in today's world.
oh no i've just been micro-aggressed, well that's too bad when men are statistically about 4 times more likely to suffer actual aggression.
whats with everyone putting words in mra's mouths. I see this over and over again. Seems to be some sort of assumption its man's version of feminism and its not
+zomby GI because its easier to make fun of group than understand them
+zomby GI I have only ever seen MRA's talking about equal paternal rights, suicide and abuse recognition and outreach, right to fair treatment in court and to not be withheld from things like jobs due to affirmative action. I don't think I've ever seen the Monstrous Misogynist MRA that people always tell me MRAs are. They seem like men hurt by a system that everyone claims benefits them and "privileges" them.
Except when you have a high suicide rate, work place death and injury rate, ~63% harsher law penalties and are shouted down, ridiculed and mocked for trying to seek help or shelter for your abuse(physical, mental or otherwise)... Those privileges don't seem so apparent.
+TheBlarggle
for an example check out the last paragraph of mshesh16's comment further down.
+zomby GI I don't think MRA give a shit about TV stereotypes.. They have bigger fish to fry like the Suicide epidemic among men, and the bias family courts to deal with.
It's only the likes of feminism where they have nothing left to complain about in the first world so target inane bullshit.
+TheBlarggle Really? Reeeeeeally? Is that really all you have seen MRAs talking about? Reeeeeeeeeeeally? Hey, those are all good things to talk about, but... reeeeeeeeeally that's all you've EVER seen MRAs talk about? Reeeeeeeeeeally?
You either have the most *fantastic* luck when it comes to missing inane vitriol, incredibly selective reading habits, or an even more incredibly selective memory.
Well how should the delivery guy know who the boss is? She doesn't wear anything to indicate it and she's behind the counter.
In the defense of the UPS guy, without a name tag, it's a guessing game who's the boss in a store regardless of sex.
Well this was a waste of 9 min 13 sec
+Taylor Kennedy (The Zack Rabbit) it took you 9 mins 13 secs to figure out you didn't like it?
Adam Rogers Yes, because I watch things in its entirety on the off chance it redeems itself.
I like to think I gave it a fair chance.
Taylor Kennedy i mean sure i guess that works. kinda a waste of time tho
Adam Rogers you never know untill you spend that time.
Taylor Kennedy not strictly true
You're trying so hard to be offended by stuff.
Says the guy who was easily offended at a video pointing out things that the title indicated he would point out.
With the beauty patch part of #4, it doesn't matter how smart you are. The placebo effect will get almost anyone
OMG this is brilliant, love the way you break down the commercials, hilarious and so on point!
The fedoras are raging right now. Delicious
just wanted to point out while it's always been stereotypes that A Woman's Place is in the kitchen, men have actually been the majority when it comes to cooking as a profession. women used to not even be allowed in prestige coking schools in the past. as far as managers and chefs they still make up the majority.
I like this guy, the funniest out of the Cracked staff.
honestly that was mostly how I reacted to that weird glade thing (but with less flailing and more picking it up and looking at it) for a solid minute until I realized it was automatically pulsing. It pulsed for the first time that I noticed right as I walked by it so I thought it was on some sort of motion sensor. I still don't see how "it will confuse men" is a selling point from either the man or the woman's perspective though
Great one of your videos! I have been keeping track of all the man bashing commercials I see...
I stopped counting at 2,374.
Oh cool....Cracked is like Kotaku now...yaaaay
"Is that parking gate made of sword?" lmao
this is way underrated ! funny as hell
Ok, but them heels at 4:59 were cute tho. 💁🏾♀️
I love the style of this channel, keep doing your own thing!
Is it a pop tart? 😂😂😂
this was actually hilarious and very accurate!!
If Married With Children was always re-runs... that's because you were born around or after 1997... I remember watching new episodes when I was a kid, and I was born in 1990
Great examples that are well presented. Both guys and girls can look at the other person's point of view and critique the message is directed and then specifically
What's so bad about women usually being the ones to cook food in the kitchen? Oh no, she's preparing a delicious meal to feed her happy and grateful family! How degrading!
#3 is interesting because it wasn't that super long ago that people in shows were always yelling "Damn women drivers!" if they were blaming some one for bad driving. xp To be fair with the #1, I never really thought about it till watching this, but it probably stems from the opposite side of all of the old commercials that showed women only being the ones to do chores, and cooking, and managing the house. So, the natural response right is that guys now need to be trained to do these things they never learned how to do because only women were taught to do them? I always loved that my dad broke that stereotype when I was a kid. He loved to cook, would do chores (when the poor guy wasn't just wiped out from working over night jobs, both mom and dad had to do that for a while ;.; ), learned to crochet when he was younger, would braid our hair and put ribbons in it, helped us pick out dresses for prom, and also taught me how to change tires, oil on the car, solder things, put back on a muffler and got me addicted to remote control cars, action movies, and video games. xD My step dad is awesome!
I really love those Mayhem commercials though. I actually laugh.
"Is it a pop tart?" XD
in Denmark they make a commercial with man in the role woman use to do (you know sexy) i actually shared pictures of it on my tumblr
When the subject of infomercials seem incompetent or suffering from motor-impairing brain trauma, as the Cracked team put it, it's usually because the product is aimed at those with special needs/handicaps but have to be sold to the general public to make a reasonable profit off of people who see it and think 'omg that'll make my already boringly easy life easier!' while giving access to those with handicaps. A good example is a spoon which remains flat no matter where the handle is twisted thanks to balance sensors which is meant for people with hand tremors but marketed to the general public so the companies can make a good profit.
With the Dove add, it’s the placebo effect.
😂😂I'm dying right. Is it a pop tart
Daaaaad? Let's eat some popcorn and die! Yeah, that sounds like fun!"
Some people look for the most superficial things in computers. Touch screens are one of the most superfluous features to be found in a laptop.
This is one of the funniest videos on the internet :)
Would you like to know what's in the beauty patch?
The placebo effect
What I think is still incredible in our time and age, is how people still act like being with in a relationship or even married is a bad thing and everyone have to lie to each other and cheat and no one is happy and can't be honest or straight forward.
I can't tell if high % of people just are mentally more dumb than the average person or if things aren't as bad as so many try to make it out to be.
To be fair my girlfriend put some of those automatic air fresheners around the house and the first time I noticed it was after work I went to look at it closer and it sprayed me in my eyes, my vision was screwed for a minute but boy did it smell so pretty.
She doesn't seem like the boss because she's behind the counter
Most bosses (at least as far as I know) don't directly interact with all customers
This is absolutely hilarious.
