Sad we're missing the sound of the franken drill at the start. Can't believe it's already been a year since we lost him. RIP Eddie. Rock on Sammy, Michael & the guys.
A friend of mine took his wife to Cabo for her birthday a few weeks ago, and were having dinner at Cabo Wabo. While they were sitting there, Sammy walked up onto the stage with an acoustic guitar and gave an impromptu performance. He said he couldn't have planned a better birthday surprise.
Makes you realize just how truly incredible Eddie Van Halen was. Respect for Sammy still going at 74 and keeping those tunes alive regardless of technical proficiency. Not hating on Vic, he’s a stellar player but Eddie was just at another level.
Lol. What a load of garbage. How is his playing here any different to how it was in VH? It’s exactly the same. As was his playing on those crappy Chickenfoot albums. Stop drinking the Sammy koolaid, he wasn’t restrained in VH. That’s just how he plays. He’s a good backing vocalist and an average bass player.
Yes I have seen them a couple of time where they only played 1 hour fifteen minutes. The Rolling Stones plays a little over 2 hours. Paul McCartney and Roger Waters plays three hours. Guns and Roses play about four to five hours . Sammy can do better than one hour
Most of the time when the Circle cover VH Vic does an amazing job, but this song has Eddie’s signature all over it, and because of that it just doesn’t sound right. Some VH songs are more forgiving than others for guitar players, this one is not one of them.
I'll be honest. I went and I was disappointed. I was hoping he played I can't drive 55 and he didn't. That's like a really, really popular song. He started the show off by saying he was going to do things different. He wasn't joking. He played songs from the real early days before I was even born. He did one song from The Circle that was touching cause I could relate. 90 minutes of playing and I recognized 3 songs. He played mas tequila but started the whole thing by playing an entirely different song and went into mas tequila and it really wasn't that great. I didn't even think the music was as loud as it could be.
I dont know man...but there is a lot of guitar players out there than can play both era of VH much better than Vic Johnson.....even in some cover bands...Vic Johnson sucks!!!
Sammy’s vocals are incredible but man I cannot listen to this that guitar player just does not have the groove or in the tone is so weak and it actually ruins it as a guitar player to listen to this
Vic has never tried to be an Eddie clone.. I think he does an awesome job making the song his own while paying respect ... He's a damn fine artist!!
He's a very good lead guitarist. I like him!

Sammy is truly amazing for how great his voice still is for 74 years old, incredible. Sammy is the man.
@D M the unfortunate reality, we are all heading towards our demise.
I am going to be super sad when Sammy finally can't do this anymore.
Hopefully we'll all make it to 74 and be this well at this age. Rock on Sam!
Really big thank you to the person with the steel sign blocking the band from view. Finally given up to Sammy so the rest of us can enjoy the show.
How Excellent and everybody having a Great time!!
Man, i just wanted soooo badly to see Sam & Ed back together again
One of my faves .. Sammy hangin....great tribute
Hell yeah! Seeing him November 13th on my birthday!

True musicians , love them , can't wait to see them somewhere in new jersey area, long live EVH, guitar dude is really good, I wish I can do that
Awesome. Can't wait to see them in June!!!
And VIC.......DOES A GREAT JOB.......
EVH FOREVER
and Michael is the forever awesome , nicer than hell guy
Vic is his own powerhouse.
LOL, he’s a bar band level player at best.

Vic knows that which is why he doesn’t attempt to replicate him
Thanks for sticking that license plate in our faces the entire time. How rude. Thanks for posting this.
Sammy still has the pipes
Sounds good to me 👍
I love Sammy, but I don't know how much more you can lower the key to make it work for you.
Nice to see Mike not having to restrain his playing anymore.

Great band
I wonder if Vic Johnson's guitar is one of the old Eddie Van Halen Peavey Wolfgangs or one of the newer Peavey HP-2 replicas of that old EVH model.
You can read on the headstock the “evh wolfgang”, so it’s one of the old peavey ones. I know the white one he plays is an old one too.
@@matthewberke6104 I can clearly see the Peavey logo but didn't read a EVH Wolfgang logo on there, but I'll take your word for it though.
@@bozeeke If you look at the ‘close-up’ shots of Vic during the solo, you can see the ovular evh logo. I have one of the HP-2’s and it’s awesome
Awesome camera work
Sammy could be the boss of GERITOL lol
Victor's missing a few harmonics. Apparently only Eddie knew where they were?
🤷🏼♂️😆
Sorry you had to nit pick and go full Karen. Can’t just enjoy what we have here and now. 🤦🤦🤦
Really? He's up there and your not and never will be. I think he did a real good job.
@@rugdnit911 Seems you don't know the proper use of "Karen", but that's ok. You'll learn.
@@shawnstarks1743 Lighten up, Francis. Those are pretty big shoes to fill.
I miss Eddie
It bothers me the Vic misses a note everytime he plays this song. Satch plays the missing note and it makes me so happy
How does Michael Anthony look exactly the same as he did back in 1978??
Toupee helps.
Songs in the wrong key ....
This is hard to watch.
You’re trying to negative, it’s great to hear and they’re doing a great job
SAMMY FOREVER
Only did an hour show in Huntington Beach a few weeks ago. Such bullshit!
Yes I have seen them a couple of time where they only played 1 hour fifteen minutes. The Rolling Stones plays a little over 2 hours. Paul McCartney and Roger Waters plays three hours. Guns and Roses play about four to five hours . Sammy can do better than one hour
Guess he realizes he has hardly any songs worth doing live.
SwEeT 👽
Great concert But I know I’m getting old when there bald old guys there. I know cause I’m one of them.
I’m sorry but the guitar part sounded horrible.

Who cares. Nobody
Vic can’t play any VH stuff, he’s a bar band level guy at best.
@@thefonzkiss I think you might be right on your assessment of Vic. He definitely doesn’t have a stage personality.
Does Sammy only own one pair of pants ?
Blows David Lee Roth to shame
EVH is so missed. Sorry when Vic plays VH tunes, I stop listening to the video and Turn on the real video with EVH.
Then why are you here other than to complain
It ain't 1980 anymore.
My gawd! I hope it sounded better in person. This is terrible. I couldn't even watch the whole thing.

Hmmm@
VH WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF HAD THEY KEPT SAMMY INSTEAD OF DAVE!!!!!!!
