My theory is that Miles' dad is going to live. If you paid attention to when Miguel was saying that Miles is an anomaly, then you would know that it probably means some evebts may be different. Because Miles is a different Spider-Man, he can have a different story. I think his mom is the one that's going to die, because no other Spider-Man has lost his/her mom. This would mean that Miles' dad would live, and it would also probably mean that Miles and Gwen can be together without anything bad, (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) happening to either of them.

Right now my theory is that Miles' Existence proves Miguel O'Hara wrong about what makes a universe collapse. Miles himself is not supposed to be spiderman in his own universe, so the idea that he has to stick to some sort of canon is pointless. I think whatever happened in Mumbattan had less to do with who specifically died and and more to do with Spot coming in an rearranging the entire city.
Pardon me for my lack of understanding about animation and effects, the movie felt blur in multiple scenes.. was that intentional? What is that type of animation/effect called? It felt as though I was watching a 3D movie without glasses. I had to ask a few people around to ensure that my eyesight was not the issue. Would help if you'd explain.

Nothing more nothing less.. a perfect movie. Be it runtime, action, comedy, animation... And i really liked how they gave importance to gwen rather than just telling one liners... Giving Importance to other characters other than main character is really important...
i was so ready for this ever since they first announced it and then, when they showed my favorite spider character, Ben Reilly - the scarlet spider. my very first con i went to while we lived in florida at the time, my mom helped me make the scarlet spider costume. those were good times for me.
This movie really blew me away! Visually stunning and all the different animation styles for great. This story was also fantastic, really just an all-around badass movie

I have a doubt. Miles already lost his Uncle Aaron so he experienced the loss of a loved one. Then why does his father have to die too? I don't get why his father( soon to become captain ) has to die when Miles already lost his Uncle Aaron which is a canon event.
But maybe it could be the two earths colliding which is the canon event. In one earth his dad is dead uncle alive, then the next uncle dead and dad alive. Earth 42 never had a Spider-Man though until he came back. So his canon event hasn’t happened yet. Maybe it’ll be watching himself die like the vampire Spider-Man was speaking on. Which makes me think he is an anomaly as well.
There's got to be more with those injections Miguel O'hara was taking in the movie and the fact that he had a vampire like personality. Could be that he's based on the inheritors from Spidergeddon in some way.
Glover wearing the Spider-Man shirt on Community was in direct response to the fan campaign to cast Donald Glover as Peter Parker in the reboot before Andrew Garfield was cast. There was some racist backlash to that campaign and that backlash made Bendis think there should be a Black Spider-Man.
I think I still love Spider-Verse 1 more, but this film is still absolutely amazing. There's just so much going on in it. It's impossible to catch it all in just one viewing.
I loved how this tied everything together, the MCU is officially Earth 199999, as was stated forever ago, not 616, which means 616 could show up, Mikes is 1610, which might be the Ultimate universe, but rebooted after forever, I like the spider coming from Earth 42, and there being a Miles there, and the mention of Doctor Strange was nuts, but then also, isn't that live action prowler the guy from Homecoming that Holland webs his hand to his car trunk, absolutely nuts, plus all the other live action tidbits were awesome
As far as the animation, this is absolutely an outstanding achievement. I was steadily being blown away by what I was seeing on the big screen. Also, the voice acting was top notch. My only criticism would be that they didn't make it clear this is the first part of two because most of my theater let out a collective "WHAT THE FUCCKKK?!?!" when the end credits popped up. The studio could have done a better job preparing people for a heavy cliffhanger ending. I was figuring it would end on a cliffhanger and even I got blue balls from that ending. Anyway, other than that, incredible spiderman flick, 8.5/10 and I'm not usually big into animated movies
The studio did do a good job preparing for the cliffhanger. They already released a statement that Across the Spider-Verse was part 1 of a two part series

As someone already mentioned, the studio did release a statement that it is the first of a two part film. Everyone was fully invested throughout and when that "To be continued" popped up a lot of people were not happy. I'm just saying, they could have somehow made it more clear because why risk having whatever portion of the audience really enjoy the entire movie but then the last feeling they're left with is disappointment.
I thought it had 1 or 2 slow parts and at the end when it said "to be continued...", it made sense as to why. Same thing happened with Dune. Watching it back, knowing Dune Part 2 is coming makes the scene being set far more enjoyable.

The cameos alone just tells me that the creators and directors really did their homework for this movie. Not too mention the spectacular spider man animated series had a cameo voiced by the original actor. Chefs kiss. Just fantastic to see and whiteness. The spectacular Spider-Man was my oldest son fav Spider-Man to watch. Now he’s 17 and we both wide eyed each other see how cool that moment was. Almost a blink and miss it moment but very badass. This is what makes a great comic book movie great imo. Not to mention the story line and the twist this movie has. It leaves me wanting more. Hoping to see the next very very soon and not 5-8 years later. But I do agree that time has made this movie great. Another imo moment

I have a feeling that the way Miles can save both his universe and prevent his father's death is to stop his father from becoming captain. When Gwen realized her father quit his position as a captain then the whole captain father dies to save someone cant happen because the father isnt a captain in the first place. I think Gwen also realizes this and therefore is running to tell Miles in hopes that it can save his father.

I can't agree with you more in every way. I did see the end as a(kinda) parallel to when Miles meets the evil version of himself in another dimension. But this movie was awesome and I can't wait to see it again this weekend. Are you going to do a list of ALL the Spiders?
Seeing the Spot in theater was so cool. I was just telling my nephew about him prior to seeing Spiderverse 2. The Amazing Spider-Man cartoon still holds up today.
I think what’s really gripping about Miles being destined to lose his father, is that it forces us to look at the fact that we will inevitably face loss. It’s unfortunate fact of life that we can’t really grow as people without it.
His mom dies in his Og story Miles was able to save his father, but during the conflict, police accidentally shot his mother, Rio. As she died, Miles revealed to his mother that he was in fact Spider-Man.
Seeing spectacular spiderman was so great, he is easily my favorite animated spiderman, also thos movie was just perfect, definitely my favorite spiderman movie I cant wait for beyond the spider verse

Hear me out: Everyone expects Miles 42 (I will refer to him as NeoProwler) to be a a cold, ruthless villain but what if that isn't the case? Instead, because of the radioactive spider not transforming Miles 42 into the Spiderman of his Earth the state of that version of Earth became much more dystopian than what it was supposed to be. In the movie it is implied that criminal syndicates dominate New York. Miles 42 may have to had turned to Aaron for training into the NeoProwler as a response just to survive and somehow ended up as a antihero because that's was what was needed at the current time. In a world so dark and evil, the "heroes" of that world may simply be the villains that are comparatively softer than the norm. Thus, NeoProwler might actually be more akin to slightly more ruthless Batman (sort of like the movie one that straight up brands criminals so that they get shanked in prison).
Does no one notice that when Spiderman is in trouble the lights are blue and red? He's a young Puerto Rican in Brooklyn. Those are the colors that DANGER sound like.
I have a different theory on how the third film would end. Miguel says that Miles wasn't special, that he was just a mistake. Ultimately, Prowler-Miles would realize what it means to be a hero, reaffirming that Miles (both) are special, because they have what it takes to be a hero. He'll end up saving Spider-Man-Miles and, though his universe won't have a Spider-Man, they'll have a Prowler who'll be the hero of that reality. Miguel realizes some things don't need to follow canon, just like Gwen's universe, and ultimately agree.
The spider gang see how important miles is that means a lot to them he never ran away from his parents but his friends instead cause of the lies that Gwen did keeping the truth about the spider society a secret but didn't blame it all for what she did but can't risk to lose the only friend that she cared most about stating the gang didn't come to see miles in the first place they must tell their friend they all miss him
The next movie has to cross over into live-action. That's my prediction. Instead of the three spidermen becoming animated, my guess is that Miles is going live action.
The screening I was at had shit audio. I kept tuning out of the film. Felt like either music was too quiet or too loud. Missed so many character moments because I wasn't hooked right in from the start. I was worried maybe I just wasn't into it but judging by comments the issue was with me not the movie. Going again on Sunday with the family. Looking forward to a second helping.
I'm honestly expecting the comics to begin adapting alternate versions Miles as the Prowler into the books in much the same way all great ideas from different mediums get adapted into comics. Just such a brilliant concept!
I’m going on a rant about fictional characters Alright I’ve been thinking about the whole sacrifice speech Miguel is giving. He brings up his variant with a family who got killed, and he tried replacing. First off, that’s super fucked up to do and he some how thought that would be “harmless?” It took that entire reality getting destroyed for him to realize it was wrong….that’s really weird to me. Also, he mentions this alternate was killed…however, he never mentioned exactly who killed him. Granted uncle Ben was killed by some random mugger, but it’s just so suspicious to me that he felt it was totally okay to essentially steal this other Miguel’s life after he died. Peter may have lost uncle Ben due to selfishness (mostly cuz he was still a kid) but this is just blatantly wrong to do, almost evil. He’s also trying really hard to convince the spider society that they’re “doing the right thing.” Why does he need to reiterate that so much? Makes it seem like he’s trying to push a lie.
I have a theory on how the 3rd movie will end. All spot truly wants really is to be normal again but he cant figure that out so he's obviously gone down the route of villain and decided ti just gain more power so people will recognize him. Thus i think Miles will actually give Spot what he truly wants and will get rid of his powers so he can just be a normal guy again. And i think in the process, Miles will give up his power as well he has to stop the loop and give the power that wasn't supposed to be his back to the other miles in earth 42. Like you said being spiderman requires sacrifice that could include sacrificing his power to put everything right

Although the theory of miles excepting his father must die would be good I feel like it wouldn’t make sense seeing as the whole reason there is a cliff hanger is because he doesn’t want his father to die. The animation is great it's just they could have made it one movie because the family parts dragged so much like it's supposed to be the final battle against the bad guy and it just ends. Like I don't know how they are going to make the 2nd movie an hour or more but I'm predicting... it's going to be flashpoint or in this case spiderpoint cough where he saves _____ but that ultimately ffs up everything so he has to undo everything because it's a fixed point?
I believe the Prowler Miles will help Spider Miles when Spot admits he’s trying to kill their father, also Spider Miles Dad will talk to Prowler Miles and help redeem him. Possibly Spider Miles will talk to 42 Aaron as well. Or Prowler Miles will get mad at Spider Miles after he finds out Spider Mile’s life is what his life should be like instead of the other way around. Possibly both things will happen and give them a reason to get over things and trust each other
Loved this movie but the first one was a lot better IMO. It had more heart and somewhat more closure. This one had a lot of the spiderverse stuff but almost too much for someone who is stuffed with the recent superhero multiverse storylines

I thought it had 1 or 2 slow parts and at the end when it said "to be continued...", it made sense as to why. Same thing happened with Dune. Watching it back, knowing Dune Part 2 is coming makes the scene being set far more enjoyable.

The cameos alone just tells me that the creators and directors really did their homework for this movie. Not too mention the spectacular spider man animated series had a cameo voiced by the original actor. Chefs kiss. Just fantastic to see and whiteness. The spectacular Spider-Man was my oldest son fav Spider-Man to watch. Now he’s 17 and we both wide eyed each other see how cool that moment was. Almost a blink and miss it moment but very badass. This is what makes a great comic book movie great imo. Not to mention the story line and the twist this movie has. It leaves me wanting more. Hoping to see the next very very soon and not 5-8 years later. But I do agree that time has made this movie great. Another imo moment

I have a feeling that the way Miles can save both his universe and prevent his father's death is to stop his father from becoming captain. When Gwen realized her father quit his position as a captain then the whole captain father dies to save someone cant happen because the father isnt a captain in the first place. I think Gwen also realizes this and therefore is running to tell Miles in hopes that it can save his father.

I can't agree with you more in every way. I did see the end as a(kinda) parallel to when Miles meets the evil version of himself in another dimension. But this movie was awesome and I can't wait to see it again this weekend. Are you going to do a list of ALL the Spiders?
Seeing the Spot in theater was so cool. I was just telling my nephew about him prior to seeing Spiderverse 2. The Amazing Spider-Man cartoon still holds up today.
I think what’s really gripping about Miles being destined to lose his father, is that it forces us to look at the fact that we will inevitably face loss. It’s unfortunate fact of life that we can’t really grow as people without it.
My favorite moment at the theater was when the Donald glover cameo popped up, everyone got all excited.

Hear me out: Everyone expects Miles 42 (I will refer to him as NeoProwler) to be a a cold, ruthless villain but what if that isn't the case? Instead, because of the radioactive spider not transforming Miles 42 into the Spiderman of his Earth the state of that version of Earth became much more dystopian than what it was supposed to be. In the movie it is implied that criminal syndicates dominate New York. Miles 42 may have to had turned to Aaron for training into the NeoProwler as a response just to survive and somehow ended up as a antihero because that's was what was needed at the current time. In a world so dark and evil, the "heroes" of that world may simply be the villains that are comparatively softer than the norm. Thus, NeoProwler might actually be more akin to slightly more ruthless Batman (sort of like the movie one that straight up brands criminals so that they get shanked in prison).
Does no one notice that when Spiderman is in trouble the lights are blue and red? He's a young Puerto Rican in Brooklyn. Those are the colors that DANGER sound like.

I have a different theory on how the third film would end. Miguel says that Miles wasn't special, that he was just a mistake. Ultimately, Prowler-Miles would realize what it means to be a hero, reaffirming that Miles (both) are special, because they have what it takes to be a hero. He'll end up saving Spider-Man-Miles and, though his universe won't have a Spider-Man, they'll have a Prowler who'll be the hero of that reality. Miguel realizes some things don't need to follow canon, just like Gwen's universe, and ultimately agree.

The screening I was at had shit audio. I kept tuning out of the film. Felt like either music was too quiet or too loud. Missed so many character moments because I wasn't hooked right in from the start. I was worried maybe I just wasn't into it but judging by comments the issue was with me not the movie. Going again on Sunday with the family. Looking forward to a second helping.

I thought the start was slow as well but it allowed for the relationships to develop more which made the movie better as a whole
I'm honestly expecting the comics to begin adapting alternate versions Miles as the Prowler into the books in much the same way all great ideas from different mediums get adapted into comics. Just such a brilliant concept!

Alright I’ve been thinking about the whole sacrifice speech Miguel is giving. He brings up his variant with a family who got killed, and he tried replacing. First off, that’s super fucked up to do and he some how thought that would be “harmless?” It took that entire reality getting destroyed for him to realize it was wrong….that’s really weird to me. Also, he mentions this alternate was killed…however, he never mentioned exactly who killed him. Granted uncle Ben was killed by some random mugger, but it’s just so suspicious to me that he felt it was totally okay to essentially steal this other Miguel’s life after he died. Peter may have lost uncle Ben due to selfishness (mostly cuz he was still a kid) but this is just blatantly wrong to do, almost evil. He’s also trying really hard to convince the spider society that they’re “doing the right thing.” Why does he need to reiterate that so much? Makes it seem like he’s trying to push a lie.
I have a theory on how the 3rd movie will end. All spot truly wants really is to be normal again but he cant figure that out so he's obviously gone down the route of villain and decided ti just gain more power so people will recognize him. Thus i think Miles will actually give Spot what he truly wants and will get rid of his powers so he can just be a normal guy again. And i think in the process, Miles will give up his power as well he has to stop the loop and give the power that wasn't supposed to be his back to the other miles in earth 42. Like you said being spiderman requires sacrifice that could include sacrificing his power to put everything right

Although the theory of miles excepting his father must die would be good I feel like it wouldn’t make sense seeing as the whole reason there is a cliff hanger is because he doesn’t want his father to die. It wouldn’t make sense for miles to go on this big adventure in dangering the whole multiverse only to go back and say he was wrong

The animation is great it's just they could have made it one movie because the family parts dragged so much like it's supposed to be the final battle against the bad guy and it just ends. Like I don't know how they are going to make the 2nd movie an hour or more but I'm predicting... it's going to be flashpoint or in this case spiderpoint cough where he saves _____ but that ultimately ffs up everything so he has to undo everything because it's a fixed point?

I believe the Prowler Miles will help Spider Miles when Spot admits he’s trying to kill their father, also Spider Miles Dad will talk to Prowler Miles and help redeem him. Possibly Spider Miles will talk to 42 Aaron as well. Or Prowler Miles will get mad at Spider Miles after he finds out Spider Mile’s life is what his life should be like instead of the other way around. Possibly both things will happen and give them a reason to get over things and trust each other
Loved this movie but the first one was a lot better IMO. It had more heart and somewhat more closure. This one had a lot of the spiderverse stuff but almost too much for someone who is stuffed with the recent superhero multiverse storylines
