    I love these kinds of games. An interesting thing about it is your planning stage is a constructed shoot house with objects used in place of what the actual building you're clearing is like. Nice little detail to show the training site before the mission site.

    Lol this is what happens when your commander tells you only follow orders and don't think for yourself. I do like the Bonnie and Clyde gameplay though.

      They failed in reaction, not in plan. Following orders is about assigned end goal, not about how you get to it.

    0:20 I mean there is literally nothing stopping you from trying to make a single plan run in doorkickers. The AI always spawn randomly around the map and act unpredictably to gunshots/doors being kicked open, making it a challenge. You also get a badge for completing missions with a singular plan so its not like the devs arnt expecting you to try it either.

    Seems cool but Im not sure about the no plan b part. The whole thing about close quarter combat games is that the player needs to react and adapt to unpredictable situations just like irl. Seems like a big immersion killer.

      The thing is, SWAT teams aren't training to react and adapt to unpredictable situations. They're training to move like an oiled machine through a hostile maze and snap to targets before the TARGETS can react to their presence. You don't WANT a protracted fight that you have to 'adapt' to. That's how you lose your team.
      In these situations, the goal is to bust in, and clear the whole 'building' in under a minute, before the guys you just caught off guard have a chance to collect themselves and converge. It's the exact opposite of dynamic in that its supposed to be working more akin to muscle memory than actual thinking.
      I watched a guy play this while being coached by someone who actually trained in room clearing. It took over an HOUR to plan a four-man assault that played out in 45 seconds. It wasn't just 'stack up on a door and then go'. There were explicit jobs for who was looking in what direction, where they moved, what WEAPON they were using, which way each door opened, who went first into the room and which direction into that room was getting 'cleared' first. What Stealth did here was (sorry Stealth), hopelessly amateur in comparison.

      @@atigerclaw For a sec i was like "how tf is it an immersion killer?" but aboveaura is right. In real life, once hit with a contingency (like a squad member literally dying) the squad would definitely switch up the plan at least a little bit. That being said, with some animation/AI tricks, NPB really does manage to avoid making your squad feel like robots, despite your concern. The game revolves around the permadeath vibes so it simply wouldn't have as much flare without the one-time-plan gimmick.

    I love the concept but I do think it should allow you to adjust your strategy if one guy goes down. It should pause there and let you adjust the remaining part of the mission because in reality someone is not going to continue the same way if they are now clearing a mission alone.

    Honestly this game looks like it's going to be a great game, but if it's the studio's first game, it will probably flop at release and later get forgotten

      They should have made a demo for people to try this first. I think the price is too steep for what it is.

    My father would have loved this game. He spent countless hours planning and executing missions in Rainbow Six 1 and Rogue Spear on the PC.

    I mean...the no plan b part makes absolutely no sense for a tactics game...
    Just imagine in a mission a SWAT team member is down, yeah I'd better just ignore that and go with the predefined path as we planned before things went south.
    The system looks good, but design choice to make itself different from door kickers is just a bit nonsense.

    Boy! I can't even find the proper words to describe how dumb this game is. Imagine a SWAT team entering a room full of terrorists and being all killed because their commander didn't guessed correctly where the baddies were going to be...and also they are all blind, deaf and can't improvise their way out of a paper bag.

      It's a tactical puzzle game that takes the old axiom: 'No plan Survives Contact With the Enemy', and lets you experience that in two distinct stages.
      There is a buildup stage in which all your planning is up front and you are trying to think how to approach each room of a mission as best as you can. Then, there's the payoff stage. You hit GO!, bite your thumb, and watch it all come crashing down in a blaze of glory.
