I love how this whole video is made with the intention of anyone else being able to copy your process with your instructions and create their own version, but i can quite honestly assure you Lauchy that noone is crazy enough as you to create this epic board XD Awesome stuff as usual!!!!!

It's absolutely wonderfull. If I may just give humbly one tiny point of improuvement, I think the rocks can be improuved with one simple trick: turning the board on the side when applying the collored washes ( to flow horizintaly compare to the base), would give a better impression of nature are you would often see the diferent shades of rocks allined as sediment settle on top of each other. The green can go last verticaly as it's good representing moss/vegetation that do not necesarilly follow the sedimentary layers. But again, it's absolutelly gorgious and I am nobody to tell how to build diorama, but I have been into geology and I wanted to let you know.

I think they were missing a second wash (or maybe a more grey wash followed by a heavy black wash) plus a good drybrushing. The idea is sound but I think he went a tad bananas with the colors haha
Epic build! But personally, if i can give my opinion, i dont think the stone looks too realistic. Having colour and such looks great but i think you should maybe tone it down slightly or ad more grey. Maybe dry brush it with grey. Other than that it looks great

Yeah, I feel as though the green feels a bit off. though I'm always surprised what crazy colours rocks can have. Green and red still is a bit of an odd combination. I only know few rocktypes which would share them both, and I don't know how large the coloured spots would be on those.
I have to say it actually looks heapssssssssss better in person than in the footage. The dio build is old footage that only got like 5k views and ended up getting deleted, so it's had ages to fully dry, and once the plaster moulds cooked off they all blended together really nicely and it all turns mottled gray :) It was still wet in these outro shots. I'll include some footage of it now in the next update when I repurpose it for the Dimrill Gate!
The build looks suburb, and I really appreciate your clear description of the materials and the process you used to make it. The one thing I missed was where the dwarf miniatures that populate your terrain come from.

Love the concept and the display board. Ironic I was just thinking of something similar for a moria board based on another RUclipsr's video. Gave me the idea for a vertical moria board that would be played through like a 2D side scrolling video game. I'll have to keep up with your progress. Sure I'll have to incorporate some of your ideas into my own build. Long live Zorp!
Damn that looks amazing that snow just finished it. The LEDs on the dragon look cool. Was thinking that a dragon who was i haling before a breath attack would have it's throat or gut light up in an orange or red hue. That would be so cool
So just gonna say all these videos really makes wanna get into this hobby big time, second I know it’s not a place shown in the movies but if a cool idea if u ever got bored while all other mega projects an ruined Eregion would be a nice board able to feature dwarves, elves, and orcs with sauron there🤷🏽♂️👀

I think that green is too minty and looks a bit unnatural, even after the black overwash. I think the Liquitex 'sap green' would work better and be a better matching tone to the other earthy yellows, Grey's and browns. Have you experimented with other greens? ✌️
Yeah the dragon video no longer lives, so it was a nice way to keep the little dio component footage alive especially as that piece is being cannibalised for this board so it's the perfect way to start this project :)
Are you happy with that color scheme for the final board or are you going to tweak it for the main board? For my tastes, theres a little too much green in the stone without there being more plant growth over the top to blend it.

@@Zorpazorp if you're worried about weight, you could build it in wedges, so you could slide pieces out for cross sections as well

They got rid of the good stuff at bunnings and I haven't found a replacement. Original brand was Knauf but they won't sell to public apparently.
