Nice studio and really enjoying your videos man. Fantastic music there at the end as well. 👊
Best one yet Joe! Truly awesome home studio. Hell it even has a friggin' fireplace
Love Joshua 19 and your studio. Thanks for inspiring and encouraging me. I am blessed. Thank you. Lord Bless.
Nice space, relaxed and open. Good advice too - time to go make music. Thanks for the look around Joe.
Thanks for watching, Malcolm.
Such an awesome setup and such an inspirational message! Joe, your videos and resources have been so helpful, thanks for all the great content, and Merry Christmas!
Even on a home studio tour I hear wise words from you. Keep it coming Joe
:) Thanks
Beautiful room, and a wonderfully positive outlook. Thanks :D
I've had an ADL600 for years. I love it. I've always wanted the 700 too, but always had other things I needed more. Nice, clean set up. I also like the patchbay for your inputs too.
That last bit ... getting the sounds you want before even recording ... spot on! That's how EMI did it with the Beatles. Best way. You have to commit. Glyn Johns these days won't go beyond 16-track ... and I started on 4-track ... learning to commit to a decision is a very empowering thing.
Nice tour!
Hey man, love your vids. Simple, clear cut and to the point. Thanks
Awesome studio tour!
Joe is really me type guy lol. u r so impressive. ur video makes me proud to crawl thru this deepest sea of the music. thanks Joe for your beautiful video
This is honestly the most sympathic studio tour, i have seen on youtube! Especially the advices in the end were more than true.. Thanks man!
Well thanks!
your video really makes me positive for music..
THANKS JOE
Man really enjoy all of your videos!! You've been alot of help indeed!
The new studio looks very good Joe! Very nice setup... Man I love your desk!
Thank you for this video. I really enjoyed how indepth you went into everything.
Just love it! Thank you, very much for doing this type of work and great messages. All the best over there.
Thanks Sergio
Beautiful.. Just beautiful... Get into the store and sent that old equipment to us....
The spot looks awesome!! Congrats!!
You should check out the iLoud micro Monitors from ikMultiMedia. They are surprisingly useful.
It's probably a sign that you're a bit too into a band when you recognise a blurred image of a lesser-known live album in the background of a video (3:37 - I'm pretty sure that's HAARP by Muse with the yellow text on the black background)
Simply amazing!!!
Love it ! Absolutely beautiful !!
:) Thanks
Joe,,,,Joe.....Joe.... nice man .. You rock. much love South Africa
Love your music!!
Funny you mentioned the ADL preamps. Those and my Sebatron preamps are the only thing I use when tracking.
Studio desk looks great !
Informative and very entertaining, Joe! Have a small studio and I’m looking to upgrade sooner or later. Thanks!
I hope this is your year for repairs and new gear lol. That was a handful of broken or gear thats going out. But still love the space and set up. nice and organized. Im new to mixing so Im here often
What a cool studio!
Just stumbled across your page. Great video. Got to hear a lot of different views and opinions! Keep em coming!
I didn’t think my girlfriend (who is sitting on the sofa reading a book) was paying any attention to me watching this video until she chimes in (without looking up from her book), “he seems to have a lot of broken equipment” LOL
SHE'S RIGHT!
Dont ya just love chicks?
Good setup brother...!! God Bless you
Great tour man. Thanks
Hey man I really enjoyed this video. I am in the process of turning a spare bedroom into a studio. Love to look at other studios to get ideas.
Joe I liked all the gear you have collected through the years.. but, Can you make a video of how you route the electric signal in the hardware?
Love the hell out of his place. It's super clean. Love clean. Like OCD clean. 😁
Like it clean, too... but to be honest, I enjoyed playing the music most when in our band studio (30 years back) where everything was a mess; with cables everywhere, smoke everywhere, our sound guy constantly worked on everything and anything even as we were playing, but we felt like in heaven.
These days, I am slowly building my own studio on cash basis (I don't intent to go into debt to satisfy my ego as this is just my hobby) and while I do like this man's set up, I don't want to have my studio this sterile looking. It's gotta look crazy. Essentially, I sense if your creative space is sterile, your music reflects it as well. If your space is polished, so will be your music, and so on... I like it really raw, you know? This here feels sort of like dentist's room - but then again, it's NOT meant to be taken as some sort of negative critique. It's just that while I am very clean guy, I like my creative space to LOOK chaotic and busy and bit hellish...not dirty but out of place, eccentric, original, dark and loaded with energy of chaos. Looking at lots of Presonus stuff - their stuff is very reasonably priced and quality is in par with much more expensive equipment others are selling.
magnificent home studio
Yeeeessss!
Been waiting so long for this!
:)
ProCo cables are life man. My Sweetwater rep recommended them and they’re the best cables. Went through cheap stuff to Monster and Mogami and ProCo was the highest quality cabling I’ve used.
Totally. And the lifetime warranty seals the deal. I had a MIDI cable go bad. I shot my guy an email and they sent a replacement for free.
Sir you do have a nice voice. I like your edge it reminds me of Joe Crocker's voice. You have a video for StudioOne which I know is going to help me. Thanks for that as well. Have a nice day you and your family.
Thanks for sharing My music brother Very nice and Good advice too I need a studio-room like that.
It would have been nice to hear about your desk. Did you make it or where did it come from?
Great Video tour man....I felt you were pointing the finger at me....collecting and not making music....lol....I'm done collecting now, I must make some music! Thanks!
Awesome spot joe!
Excellent advice at the end of the video. Thanks
"Recording Chi-Chi", everytime! In every video! :) Liked the big room mate!
👍
Hey Joe, I just found your channel. I am starting my own home studio and getting equipment little by little.
LOL @ "This is a printer"...hahahaha. Love the setup bro!!
Thanks for the look inside! 🎶
Thanks for watching!
I was curious if you could share how you configure your audio interface/main stage rig to connect with your mixer?
Dude, Such a rad video. Thanks for the motivation. #letsgomakemusic
Great Advice, Thank you!!
Great studio i love it..i got a small nice one too. This one motivate me to keep grinding and makr music
Wow Excellent Video of your home studio my friend . We make music and it's so much fun .
Hi Joe,
Great video. Thank you.
I have a mixer, a four channel interface, two direct boxers, midi keyboard, a two 2-channel mic preamp, and two 2-channel phantom power boxes. But I have NO IDEA how to set all this up! Could you give me some tips on how to, or perhaps make a video for setting up a garage studio capable of recording multiple musicians?
Nice balance, interesting and humorous. :-)
Incredible how different our studios are! Maybe that explains why your tracks sound so good and mine crappy... (plus your expertise, of course) Thanks for the tour and the humor...
Spot on! When it comes to collecting gear. I guess it's not only musicians that fall into that trap.
Really great stuff you're working with here.
Thanks Aiden.
Yes. I gotta get that lamp before the price goes up on the vintage market!
Great Home Studio!
Thanks Alberto.
Completely agree. Great vid:)
You got me with "the camera is falling." lol👍
i love your desk i have the studio live 32 and i want a desk like yours
Well done. Good personality Joe.
:) Thanks Devon
nice space, best this far!!!
Nice video 👍 What is your opinion on having active studio monitors just for music playback? Personally I love their natural sound. I have a pair of focal alpha 80 and I'm quite impressed with them 🙂
The song at the beginning is soo dope
ahahah this a printer kkkkk
Big Joe, u r my good coach man!
be blessed!
Congrats on the Mom of the Year award, Joe!
:)
Joe, I still use my Eureka all the time. Great piece of gear.
Mine has a buzz in it. Need to get it fixed.
You seem to have a lot of equipment going bad recently. Bummer. I feel your pain. I have an AT 4050 mic in need of repair right now, myself.
Sounds great!
Thanks Roger
Do you find the amp in the presonus hp4 to be powerful enough for most higher impedance headphones i.e. =/>250 Ohm
I am surprised by the lack of SM-57's you have! Also no boundary mics. Nonetheless you have a knack for setting up any room. Also/lastly, check out a Sennheiser 109 for guitar amps. I have found them quite useful in a variety of applications.
i love the song at the end
Thanks! From one of the 3 EP's I released last year. Look up Joe Gilder on Spotify/Apple Music
Hi Joe. I really like the Studio tour. Looks like you will have a lot of fun making music there.
I really enjoy your videos and passion you express for music...and sharing that with everyone.
I also have a fair amount of Presonus gear as well. I bought a pair of Sceptre 6 and 8’s and with you being a Presonus guy I highly recommend u look into them (which u may have already.)
I had the same MAudio Monitors you have for a long time and loved them like you do....but let them go once I heard the Sceptre series. They can compare to monitors 3x their price.
The engineering that Fulcrum Acoustics did to create these CoActual design is amazing. They are really sleeping giants. When I was at Guitar Center they were in their sound room but not hooked up on a bottom shelf...No one was really taking Presonus seriously. I had them hook up the S6 first and I was just amazed with the sound....and when others came in they could not believe the sound and 3D imaging from this unknown brand. I bought them on the spot and 3 years later I have the S8’s and the subwoofer T10.
I use them alone and together depending on the mix I am doing. Hope this may get you curious to look into them and the story behind the design.
Look forward to many more of your videos.
Thanks, Mike
Hello Joe. Thank you for taking the time to take all of us on your home studio tour. Much appreciated. Can you tell me a little about the furniture that your gear is sitting in if you don't mind. Have a good one. Peter
Made by Sound Construction here in Nashville. They made it custom for me.
Looking good bro
MP-20 with Jensen transformers is an amazing micpre.
Great video
Good video Joe. I like "use what you have". I have a similar sense of humor. I probably have some over kill going on myself considering this Is as one man operation here. All I am trying to accomplish at this point is to get a little instrumental piece recorded while working thru the key of C on the keyboard and try to learn the drums. (wish I had youtube 20 yrs ago) I have an electronic drum set, acoustic and electric guitars. Thanks for the tour.
I bet that room sounded totally different. How do you mix with no room treatment??
Hey Joe how do you access your preamps with the studio live do you have to set up a bus to do so ?
Where I can find the full Music I like the music 😍😘
Forgot to ask: I saw an iMac, so, do you use Logic? I’m thinking of going that route. Thank you!
Very nice studio!
Thanks Ricardo
I have that keyboard! Need to get it connected, can I do that through my UA Apollo Twin MkII?
But you never said anything about the Djembe drum in the background, why?
night club disc jockeys, the younger crowd likes so much of what he's saying, new /crisp sound/clean area/real instrument sounds/
Took 5 years to put together the basic gear for my studio since then another 2 years Ive recorded produced and performed over 18 songs its all been on a budget of little to none so my gear has to just plain work with an ear to sounding the best I can make it sound #TheMusicIsImportant
Where did you get that wicked desk from to house all your gear?? Please let me know. BTW great video!
sos un capo!
nice job man. you got that together quick.
Thanks Jimmy
Congrats, pretty "coool" environment, cosy atmosphere for Gold- & Platin-Hits!!! Stay tuned!
:)
Nice set up, Joe. I have a Presonus 24 4 2AI. Did you make the desk? How often do you use a pre when tracking?
I like the song
That's it, man! MAKE MUSIC!
I luuuuuurv da printer joe...is dat like a vintage u 47 clone like 😂😂
Thanks, very nice vedio.
