Great interview. Humza Yousaf is the rational, humane voice of British politics. He represents the voices in Scotland, but he speaks for the many people across the whole UK who want the government to stop this madness and call for an immediate ceasefire, stop sending arms to Israel. He spoke with emotion and sincerity. I applaud his stance ,what a wonderful human being... Scotland should be proud of their first minister, I'm sure they are. 🏴🇵🇸
Why is it Scotland seems to have a moral compass and make sense in most of its polices. As an Englishman it just puts our leaders and system to shame. Give the Scots independence they are clearly on a different path and good on them.
It seems to me that he leaders of the whole UK and the potential leaders of the UK HAVE to do what the US wants-and what Zionist sponsors want. I guess Scotland is not under the same kind of pressure as they are simply not a threat...😪 Not until independence, which the establishment-and no doubt the CIA if necessary-will do everything to prevent.
As an English woman, the puppet so-called leaders don't speak for me and never did. Independence from the puppets and the puppeteers for England too and #FreePalestine
100%. I’m also English, living in London - once a Labour member, but I won’t be voting for them this time around (with the exception of voting for one of my local Labour councillors when those elections roll around, because she’s great - a woman of colour who truly cares about and stands up for her constituents!). I’d previously been quite pleased that David Lammy was my MP, especially given the absolute state of some other London constituency MPs; but he previously lost my enthusiastic support over his failure to fully support trans rights, and since October he’s taken any regard I once held him in and stomped all over it (several horrifying segments on his shows on LBC and absolutely berating his callers when they tried to question his pro-Israel stance come to mind). I’ll be doing my research into the candidates and probably voting Green… it would be a dream to have the option of voting for someone like Humza Yousaf, because he’s clearly a decent and brilliant leader! (Clearly he’s not the leader of a party anymore, but I’ve been a fan of Jeremy Corbyn for ~14 years, though alas, I haven’t lived in his constituency for the vast majority of that time!) And if Scotland want to seek independence, clearly they have the right to self-determination just the same as the Palestinians do! So while I don’t *want* Scotland to leave the UK and I don’t know if it’s a good idea for them or not, it’s very much not up to me, and they should have the right to decide it! 🏴

It’s so nice and refreshing to see a Western leader speaking with such moral clarity unlike these genocide cheerleaders we have here in England and some of idiots in Europe and the US. I hope Humza can keep putting pressure on the Westminster government.
I very much admire Humza Yousaf, and the more I see of him, the more I like and admire him (the direct opposite is true for the leaders of the two biggest Westminster political parties!). I think this is the third long-form interview I’ve seen with him in the past few weeks, and I definitely think he should continue doing them in a wide variety of channels to reach the most people possible, and demonstrating just how thoroughly decent, honourable, and personable he is; and above all, the very clear leadership qualities he possesses in spades, and that he’s returned as the first minister in Scotland at the next general election. I live in London and I wish I could vote for him!

The horror unfolding in Gaza is like nothing seen before. The majority of the 2.3 million Gazan Palestinians, around 1.5 million, are now in Rafah, and these people, traumatized by four months of ongoing carpet bombing, are starving, are without shelter and diseases are rapidly spreading amongst them. The death toll is closing in on 30,000 Palestinians, with the majority being civilians. Over 100,000 Palestinians have been injured or killed. Thousands are lost under the rubble of the more than 50 percent destroyed buildings. Food, water, medicine and fuel supplies have been cut since October
I sm with you , you r very descent compassionate human being and just watching you gives me some hope because i am losing it every second , just a lay person and feel very helpless , may he bestow you and your family strength 💪 to eradicate the ignorance that prevails in our world .
Just like ordinary people all over the world, I and the people and relatives in my circle are totally behind saving Palestine and the Palestinians, and horrified and ashamed of the Israelis. I'm a non practicing Jew. I'm progressive politically. I'm watching independent journalists so I see what is available on the devastation, starvation, the deliberate murder and suffering imposed by the people of Israel.. It's heinous and will increase the antisemitism. Those criminals and aid and abetters must be bought to justice. Precisely what you said The West has lost it's moral compass, IF it ever had one.
Israels actions do increase anti-jewish hate. The phrase 'anti-semitism' however only gives aid to Israels actions by implying that only jews are semitic and therefore the original inhabitants of the land. It denies Palestinians their semitic identity and rights to their homeland.
As a Scot living in England I am so proud of the stance taken by the SNP and in particular, Humza and Stephen Flynn on the situation in Gaza. So embarrassed and ashamed to be considered British.
Has Humza Yousaf been on any of the pro-Palestinian protests in Scotland? I haven't seen him at any of them. Why has he not been there? Seriously. Why not? Please Humza. Turn up and speak!
He's not the president of El Salvador!! Nicola Sturgeon's lacky...apologies if this offends anyone. His stance on Gaza is a bias due to his relationships, did he stand in front if the ICJ to give evidence???
If Humza Yousaf had gone on any of the pro-Palestinian protests, Westminster would be calling him anti-semitic and the right-wing Media (which is all of them) would go to town on him, discrediting and calling him biased. The British government are calling the protesters 'mobs' and some of them 'terrorists' so it would be the end of Hamza's political career.
FM Yousaf stands head and shoulders above so many other politicians. He’s been consistently calling for peace and a ceasefire in the Gaza conflict. Other world leaders could learn a lot from him. History will show that he was on the right side.
While his own family members are complicit in the biggest blight on Scottish life ever seen by importing huge amounts of heroin and sell to their children👏👏🤔

Love Scotland the great people and on your humanity humility we all feel traumatized on so much our minds are trying to process inactions and the actions of inhumane actions lack of any empathy towards a people!
As an ordinary citizen of Scotland, I completely agree with Humza, Palestinians have been let down for many decades by successive governments across the world! I am proud of Scotland and of the SNP who have called for an immediate ceasefire from the beginning. It is incomprehensible why the Tories and Labour think it's OK to let one more innocent Palestinian die! What does that say about the leadership of the UK? The Palestinian people deserve more, much more from a world who has looked the other way for far too long. I can't speak for other Scots but this one is holding out hope that an immediate & permanent ceasefire happens as quickly as possible! Much love from Scotland.
What does Yousef think about October 7 massacres, Hamas, and kidnapped hostages still being held? Has he demanded Hamas surrender and hostages be returned. When he calls for a ceise fire does he want it to be one sided?
Exactly, a true humanitarian advocates for ALL humans, not based on any other factors of devision. And people living in the Gazs strip have most definitely been let down by government and so called humanitarian organisations. Their 'government' have dragged all these poor innocent people into a fight, while the aid goes to their billionaire 'leaders' sitting comfortably in Qatar or hiding in a tunnel network larger than the London Underground. The leaders themselves have said publicly that they are not responsible for their peoples safety. Why? They explain it is because the people are 'refugees', as designated by UNRWA. Only this agency count refugees as a status passed down the generations. Why? No other group have ever been regarded as refugees in this way. Why do this? Well, this status enables the continuation of money as aid going to these billionaire 'leaders'. End the wars, make peace = no more endless aid to the billionaire leaders Sat in Qatar. The people in Gaza are being used, and they know it. And some incredible and brave people in Gaza are speaking out at great risk their lives and the lives of their family. They are not free to speak under the totalitarian Hamas regime. People in Gaza deserve better. All people deserve better than to be used in this horrific way and placed in the middle of a situation to perpetuate the money making scam that is driven by the few corrupt puppet masters. Rafa is a city split by a country border. 14 miles of border between Gaza and Egypt yet no help for them from their Brothers and Sisters in Egypt. People of Gaza deserve freedom not dictatorships. They deserve safety, not to be used as pawns and brainwashed with hateful rhetoric to keep them in this awful position. It is truly shocking but sadly unsurprising.
It doesn't justify killing more than 30.000 people. Besides, they're fighting an oppressor who won't leave them alone to go about their lives, but constantly harreses them, steal their farms, produce and houses.
Very probing, pertinent questions, putting Humza under the lamp. To be fair, Humza was articulate, direct and open with his responses and clearly very sincere in all he said. No obfuscation like Starmer or Sunak who have been dodging and sliding for months. Shout out for Stephen Flynn too, a formidable presence in the house of commons. I'm pleased that he stressed the importance of the ceasefire was not only for safeguarding the Palestinians but also the hostages too. Unless the constant and indiscriminate bombing of Gaza by Israel is not stopped immediately, there soon may not be any hostages left to save.
The people of scotland did not vote this guy in!!! His party voted him in after his boss quit over millions of missing money!!! This guy and SNP are out!
@@Englishman_and_mountains because there's no rape and it was proven by Israelites them selves in Haratz newspaper. As for how it started: try being besieged for 17 years and tell me then how you would have responded. It is a battle in a war against an occupying force called Israel. Try not to blame the victim here
Scotland deserves to have another independence referendum and finally break the yoke of Westminster. The handling of Gaza and the historical inadequacies of Westminster to not just abide by international law and enforce just jurisprudence, to say nothing of committing to their responsibilities of the treaties signed, but to consistently put Scotland second and more recently the entire nonesense with the speaker, remind Scotland that they will never have an equitable seat at the table when it comes to the decisions that historically matter. The UK’s political party structures are transforming into a reflection of the two party system of the United States at a frightening rate and all in the face of the atrocities of Israel.
And no mention of the Israeli hostages. Why not call for Hamas to put their arms down and release the hostages?! This guy should be sent there to speak for Hamas. I feel sorry for the poor Scots. A once proud people.
@@cynthiamartini8982have you seen the level of bombing Isreal has been doing for four months? Are you aware that twelve thousand children have now been murdered by carpet bombing? There is no safe areas in that land 7 x 25 miles. So it’s highly likely Isreal has liked their own people.

Why isn’t he demanding the Pakistani government be more diverse?
@@sh.4409Pakistani government is already controlled by Americans for 77 years now. How much more diversity you want?
(Clearly he’s not the leader of a party anymore, but I’ve been a fan of Jeremy Corbyn for ~14 years, though alas, I haven’t lived in his constituency for the vast majority of that time!)
And if Scotland want to seek independence, clearly they have the right to self-determination just the same as the Palestinians do! So while I don’t *want* Scotland to leave the UK and I don’t know if it’s a good idea for them or not, it’s very much not up to me, and they should have the right to decide it! 🏴

Death toll probably exceed 10%.

A tru a leader who not scared about speaking the truth
Just like ordinary people all over the world, I and the people and relatives in my circle are totally behind saving Palestine and the Palestinians, and horrified and ashamed of the Israelis. I'm a non practicing Jew. I'm progressive politically. I'm watching independent journalists so I see what is available on the devastation, starvation, the deliberate murder and suffering imposed by the people of Israel.. It's heinous and will increase the antisemitism. Those criminals and aid and abetters must be bought to justice. Precisely what you said The West has lost it's moral compass, IF it ever had one.
I don't think it ever did sadly 😢
Israels actions do increase anti-jewish hate. The phrase 'anti-semitism' however only gives aid to Israels actions by implying that only jews are semitic and therefore the original inhabitants of the land. It denies Palestinians their semitic identity and rights to their homeland.
As a Scot living in England I am so proud of the stance taken by the SNP and in particular, Humza and Stephen Flynn on the situation in Gaza. So embarrassed and ashamed to be considered British.
Your leader thinks there's too many white people living in Scotland
I’m crying every day too. And I’m an American. I’m so ashamed of my government.
Tears streaming. I have so much love and compassion for oor First Minister, he speaks for me, until Scotland and Palestine are Free.
How about calling for the hostages to be free? That would help everyone. He missed that important point
Great interview - passion for justice comes across sincerely
The only hypocrisy on view, is the complete lack of discussion of Palestinian leadership.

Well unless somebody asks him you will never know
Exactly, a true humanitarian advocates for ALL humans, not based on any other factors of devision.
What about the settlers killing of unarmed ppl and the 26 massacre by the Israelis before the 7th do they not count.
Wish he was our prime minister!
He can be move to Scotland ❤every1 is welcome haste yet back lol
One thing for sure is that since this nightmare started, Humza Yousaf has shown that he is a good leader
What about the massacre in Israel?
It doesn't justify killing more than 30.000 people. Besides, they're fighting an oppressor who won't leave them alone to go about their lives, but constantly harreses them, steal their farms, produce and houses.
The ones perpetrated by the IDF on their own people don't count.

He is a good and honest man and a credit to Scotland....gon yer sel ma son.
The mans a complete and utter failure. He's been terrible in every position he's held. He's an absolute embarrassment to Scottish people!
The truth is always found in the history and the details.
