Morning Ash! I loved this. Never heard Geoff before - wow what a voice! Favorite Nightmare song is "Sally's Song" but sung by Amy Lee...favorite Halloween movies? Halloween (the original), The Shining, Lost Boys, Silver Bullet... list is too long. Love and light to you!

I enjoyed your reaction, love how with the snow this leads into "What's This?" VP has done 4 songs not counting this one from Nightmare Before Christmas and their new one the villain's song from The Hunchback of Notre Dame "Hellfire" is terrifying.

Favorite Halloween movie is probably... "Halloween." But I love "The Nightmare Before Christmas" too. I try to watch it every Halloween season, or at least before Christmas.
The glare is actually kinda cool, much props.
As a bass/baritone vocalist, we tend to have a wide vocal range. And yes, we deserve more love from listeners of music.
As far as HOW we can get that deep... Bass singers usually experience strong resonance in their chest and throat. A lowered larynx can help you extend your low range. Tension, or constriction, within the vocal folds and above them can help you sing lower. And lastly, vocal range and timbre are heavily influenced by their anatomical structure.
As with all vocals, A LOT is happening.

Happy Halloween!! and Kidnap the Sandy Klaws 99% because my 7 yo is obsessed with it. We have start nightly halloween walks to see the neighborhood and she plays that song on repeat.
I'm English, and the only aspect of Hallowe'en I don't really get on with is trick or treating, which is definitely a US import. Pumpkin carving and spooky decorations, sure. As for favourite Hallowe'en movie: this one! I'm really not into proper horror at all, but comedy horror stuff like this or Addams Family is right in my wheelhouse (my favourite comic as a little'un was called "Shiver and Shake" and was full of this). _Jack's_ _Lament_ and _Oogie_ _Boogie_ are probably my favourite songs to sing along to; both covers are fantastic.
I love The Nightmare Before Christmas and my favorite song I always love singing is Poor Jack. BUT my go to Halloween comfort movie is Hocus Pocus both 1 and 2

Universal Greeting Time. If, as they say, "It's five o'clock somewhere." then it stands to reason that it is 0500 somewhere else. As such, it is always appropriate to say "good morning" as a greeting.

My favorite Nightmare Before Christmas song, has always been What Have I Done? Geoff, unfortunately, has not yet done a cover of it. I await his rectification of this dire oversight. Maybe next year. (Of course, I have a whole list of stuff he and/or VP need to do. Top of the list is actually the Truck Drivin' Song.)
Halloween itself, and also its name (a contraction of "All Hallows Eve", meaning, the evening before the Roman Catholic holiday now known as All Saints Day) are very definitely of European origin and date to the Middle Ages, well before the American colonies were founded. However, some of the things that are now culturally tied to it (e.g., the orange-and-black decor) got that way in America.
I'm so weird; I think black glitter candelabra are beautiful. Thank goodness VoicePlay and Geoff do Halloween music. Have you ever seen classics like The Blob (orig, not remake) or The Crawling Eye? fun! (I can't do gory stuff.)
Maybe it’s basic, but my favorite song from Nightmare Before Christmas has to be This is Halloween.
And then my favorite movie to watch at Halloween time is Evil Dead 2. It also happens to be one of my favorite movies period.
don't worry Geoff can go even lower, try his Headless Horseman or even Voiceplay's Oogie Boogie Man. Also try out his Blackbird for featuring his range.
when people look at low voices (male ones, anyway*) people tend to hyper-focus on range, not timbre/tonality, because.....singing that low is a LOT OF WORK, theatricality and nuanced vibrato become kinda.... secondary. Geoff's got it covered.
*if you're talking female low voices, particularly if said female low voice lands on B2 or lower, people tend to hyper-focus on boobies and half of them are wondering if said female low voice-owner started life as female. The other half are just horrified.)

Their "Kidnap The Santy Claws" is excellent, and such good fun. And don't miss "Oogie Boogie's Song" which is like a gateway video into how amazing VP and Geoff's range is.

My favorite Halloween movie, although it is controversial, is Season of the Witch. Top 3 favorite movies would be Season of the Witch, The Shining, and John Carpenter’s The Thing.
