Hi Dena love the progress on your stitching and I loved the chubby bird exchange piece you did. It is beautiful. I'm glad you had a wonderful time at your retreat. Congradulations on your Tommy's hike. Very proud of him. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
Pat, so glad you liked my finish on Chubby bird. The retreat was so much fun! Tommy is planning another hike next Aug/Sept time frame and his hiking buddy is planning on returning with him. I am happy about that because I like it better when Tommy isn't all alone while hiking. Dena
Great to see you Dena! Thank you for sharing your retreat fun with us. Your gift was wonderfully finished. It is quite lovely. Glad you all had a great time. Thanks also for the pictures. Congrats to Tommy. That is quite an accomplishment! Happy Stitching!
Thank you for sharing your WIPs, Tommy's progress and retreat with us. I was thinking about the red stain and if the stain persists after you clean it, you can always make the moon wider to cover the red dye. Good luck!
Oh my goodness, your nativity stitching piece is outstanding! And yes, you can see the back stitching on the one wing. It makes the feathers look ruffled at the top of the wing. I just love your floss stitch channel.❤
Patti, thanks so much for the feedback on Nativity. I am really loving it now. Also, thank you so much for the compliment on my channel. I am really happy you enjoy the videos. Dena
Hi Dena! Wonderful to hear about your experience at the retreat. This is a masterclass in retreat stitching! Wow, you were very productive. Such a pretty and creative finish for your retreat exchange. Lovely video and beautiful stitching. ❤
Hi Dena. Thank you for sharing your retreat. It looks like you all had a wonderful time. Your exchange lantern was gorgeous. I am very glad Tommy succeeded on his hike and was safe. Your finish for your sister is so beautiful. I have always loved that artist. Also, your TW nativity is a masterpiece! I love it. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Take good care.
Crystal, we did have a wonderful time at the retreat. I am hoping to pick up my sister's framed piece next week. I also hope to work on my Nativity another time before month's end. Dena
Dena...thanks for sharing the great time you had at retreat...it was so generous of you...Tommy is to be congratulated on finishing his hike...love your Chubby Bird retreat piece...thanks for all your lovely pictures...best wishes ❤
Loretta, so glad you enjoyed the pictures from retreat. Tommy thanks you for the congrats on his hike. I think he has decided to make his next section hike in late August or early September next year because the weather was so good. Dena
Hi Dena, sounds like an awesome retreat! So happy you were able to get some good stitching in. What a great idea to have people pout their initals in and luckily it was at your table! Happy stitching my friend, Lori
Lori, we did have a really good time and enjoyed sitting with Carolyn and Robyn, getting to know them better. It was lovely to meet some new folks who have been kind enough to follow my videos as well. Looking forward to chatting soon. Dena
Sheila, it was so fun meeting you and your daughter! She lite up when she saw Harley and that made me so very happy. Hope you rest and recover from all that driving soon! Dena
The chubby bird is such a great way to finish a cross stitch. Well done. My grandma always said donate to Shriners they do such great things as the other 2 charities.❤
Fabulous video. Thank you for sharing all the news from the retreat. It sounded like a really great weekend. Super stitching as always and I hope you rest your voice now and drink lemon and honey - my Gran’s go to remedy! Thanks again. x
We had such fun at the retreat! Is it too early to say I can't wait for next year? Your chubby bird finish was amazing, I wish I had seen it in person. Lucky lady who picked it. Hugs to Harley and Donna 🤗
Diane, it isn't too soon to start thinking about next year! After all we plan our gifts and projects, right? I think Donna and I may try to make one of your placemat or table runner bags. Dena
Jenn, I am hoping to get the framed Fur-ever Friends back next week. Then, I can wrap her Christmas presents and get them ready to mail. I mail them a month early to make sure she gets them. Dena
Dena - I absolutely love how you finished Chubby Bird for your smalls exchange! The backstitching makes that angel wing pop on Nativity. Happy stitching! - TaMara
Wow❣Thank you for sharing. Your lantern is amazing. What a wonderful idea for a finish. The retreat sounded great. You described everything so well, it seemed as if I was there. You look great. I bet you have more energy since you are eating healthy. Your needle sure seems to be on fire. Take care. ❤

My heart is so so full! I treasured the time we got to spend together and the laughs! Your Cubby Bird finish was gorgeous! Your poor voice - please take a rest and I hope you recover soon! ❤❤❤
Thanks Carolyn! Yes, I have no voice today. I am a bit worried as someone has reported they came home with Covid. I think I will get tested just to make sure. Dena
Julia, I am so very blessed to have met these stitching friends at the library meet ups. And I couldn't think of anyone better to sit with them than you and Diane. After the very first day, Lisa came to me and said they were in love with you and Diane! They thanked me to making sure they met you! Dena
Great progress on your stitching. I was at the table with the recipients of the smalls exchanges and both pieces were amazing. It was a pleasure getting to know you better this year. 💜💜💜
Thank you Sue for the kind words! I am so happy to hear you liked the small exchange piece I made. It was such fun stretching to be more creative. Dena
Thank you for the recap! Your exchange piece was gorgeous! What a clever way to finish it. I am the maker of the quilt that Carolyn won. Glad she liked it. Take care!
CheryI didn't know that you made the quilt. WOW, it was beautiful. Yes, Carolyn cried she was so happy to win the quilt. Such a privilege for you to see her joy! Thank you for contributing to the auction. Hope you had a good trip home and are all rested up from the late nights and travel. Dena
Not long before you will be in Montgomery and enjoying the stitching, visiting, raffle, Bingo and the exchange. not to mention the shopping.....Have a blast! Dena
Hi Dena! It was so much fun hanging out with you and "your friend" and now my cousin Donna. I was so surprised to see the birthday video. We had so much fun. I will never forget it. I have to admit, that great big sombrero makes me look so much smaller. I think I need to order one. 🤣 Happy stitching! I hope we meet again soon. Karen @StitchingPastMyBedtime.
Karen, it was so much fun meeting you as well! I had just joined your group before the retreat so it was wonderful to get to know you some! Hoping we continue to chat and have fun together! Dena

Karla, thanks so much for the compliment on my exchange piece. It was one of my favorite finishes I've done. I am working on getting my voice back, so keep those positive thoughts coming. Dena
Dena, hydrogen peroxide may remove the red icing stain. I use it when doing laundry. Thanks for sharing the retreat events with us. Glad you had a good time!!!
Loved the recap. I’ll be leaving Wednesday to attend weekend 2. It’s my first cross stitch retreat ever. Soooo excited but was also nervous not knowing what to expect. You were very helpful with all the information you provided. I’m less anxious now and looking forward to it very much. Thanks for all your wonderful content each week. I look forward to each one of your videos.
Hope you were able to get the stain out! I’ll share a trick I know. Take a paper towel and fold it a few times. Put that under the stain and then work on the stain in the front. The paper towel will help pull the stain out. A Tide pen works great with technique because you can press down on the stain. Good luck.
So glad to hear you had a great time at the retreat. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Your Chubby Bird finish was so creative and beautiful! Did you show us what you received in the smalls exchange? Did I miss that? Congrats to Tommy for successfully completing his hike. He is such an inspiration. Always enjoy seeing peeks into life with Cocoa. ❤️
Kris, I don't remember if I showed my gift exchange, but I will to make sure. If you missed it, then I must have not shown it. I shared it on Zoom a few times, so I probably thought I had filmed it. LOL. Hope you are doing well. I am coming to Stitch North in April, might you be going then too? Dena
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 That is so exciting that you are coming to Stitch North! I am going but I am registered for weekend two, May 2 - 4. 🙁 I am so sad we will miss each other! Do you know if Marysa is registered? Maybe I’ll need to take a road trip your weekend and meet up with you!
Frosting. If your cure for the frosting on your moon project doesn’t work, could you redesign the moon slightly to be just a little bit of a thicker moon and stitch over it? I really couldn’t see where the problem was. But if it was just on the edge of the moon, maybe make the moon a little bit wider by a stitch or two if that would work.
Is the retreat always in Montgomery? Or will it be there next year? I graduated from high school in Montgomery many years ago…be a good excuse to go back there!
