  • Sermon Overview
    Scripture Passage: Galatians 6:1-5
Whether we are saved or lost, we will all carry burdens at some point in our lives; but we do not have to bear them alone. Galatians 6 shows us what to do with our burdens.
First, this passage addresses the burdens we willingly take up.
“Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:1-2).
As believers, we are called to take up the burdens of another brother or sister who is hurting-to restore those who have backslidden. We must remember that a broken person doesn’t need a lecture; he doesn’t need to be ignored or reported, shot down, or cast away. Instead, he needs to be brought back to fellowship with God.
Adrian Rogers says, “The church is the only army in the world that shoots its wounded.”
A backslidden Christian is like a broken place in our net of believers. He needs us to approach him gently, humbly, and sympathetically. He has broken fellowship with God and is weighed down by a guilty conscience, the enemy, and the threat of public shame. To fulfill the law of Christ, we must love our brother back to fellowship with God and mend the broken place in the net.
There are also burdens we must faithfully endure.
“But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load” (Galatians 6:4-5).
We are not called to lives of ease, but to lives of discipline. God lays burdens upon us and expects us to bear them ourselves. It is our own responsibility to repent and be saved.
Finally, there are burdens we wisely lay down.
Psalm 55:22 says, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you...”
Our loving Father urges us to bring our broken hearts to His throne; how beautiful that our burdens can be used to bring us to our Master’s feet.
    Apply it to your life
If you are a believer, you are called to lift another’s burdens and bring backslidden brothers and sisters back to Jesus. Realize your own burden of responsibility to know God and to share Him with others. Cast your heartaches upon Jesus, for He cares for you.

Lord, this burden is too heavy for me to bear. It is my desire to fulfill this task before me. The enemy is trying to take this awesome ministry that you have given to me. Yes, this counterfeiting beast is acting as an angel of light, bribing our leaders. Help us wait on you, our only Source. 💁🏾🇺🇸🕊️

We would only know what a burden is if we DO know who Jesus is - otherwise (too many) people will NEVER know what a burden is, and will eventually succumb to it. That is what the saving Grace of God is.

"1If the world from you withholds of its silver and its gold
And you have to get along with meager fare
Just remember, in his word, how he feeds the little bird
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there
Leave it there, leave it there
Just take your burden to the Lord oh and leave it there
If you trust him through your doubt, he will surely bring you out
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there
Now if your body suffers pain and your health you can't regain
And your soul is slowly sinking in despair
Jesus knows the pain you feel, he can save and he can heal
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there
Leave it there, leave it there
Just take your burden to the Lord oh and leave it there
If you trust him through your doubt, he will surely bring you out
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there
Take your burden to the Lord
    And leave it there

I understand since I only attend my church of over 40 some years since the opening after Covid due to my verbally and emotionally abusive husband being a Deacon there and I couldn’t take his such Fake self in church with everyone but a totally different person with me and our family at home and sometimes in public. No one in our church gets it. No one ever really asks me why I hardly attend anymore even though I was active in our church but the abuse has brought me very much closer to Christ ! And I am with other Christians in different events .
My husband knows why I hardly go to our church any longer but the congregation has really dwindled down since Covid too. Very sad. Pastor Rogers, and other Christian you tube videos have helped me immensely through this very difficult situation. And of course it’s all Christ and my relationship with Him. ❤️🙏

@@elakay4397 Matthew 5:15-16 (KJV) 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
I agree with what you said that it’s not important where we worship. The being content at home is good for when we take that time to study and make ourselves approved. Avoiding fellowshipping somewhere like a home, restaurant, or a park with some brothers and sisters in Christ is not correct. In my life too was content staying at home for a season but now it is time to be the light of the world!

Just because a believer leaves a fellowship, does not mean they have fallen away from God, it is not that cut and dried. When a fellowship has taken a position of error, the child of God must not go along. I left a fellowship five years ago because I began to put two and two together and started exposing the error. This began to make enemies for me because I was not willing to go along with the status quo. I noticed that the fellowship was busy making false converts through programs and promotions to build numbers. The two worst heathen in my neighborhood had made a statement of faith and were baptized. That is what happens when you believe that God's sovereignty and human free will are compatible. In other words, the church can tell you that you are saved if you have raised your hand to receive Christ, get a voice vote of approval by the assembly and are baptized. All of this decided upon for God apart from any kind of repentance and the power of God to open the heart and transform with the Holy Spirit. Basically man can make a decision and God will go along with it because God's sovereignty and human free will are compatible. I left only after prayer and I was violently confronted. I never looked back, I do not miss it, and have no burden. Since then God has been teaching me His word, and I have grown closer to Him in the first year than in all the approximately thirty years I attended that group. Never have I had such a hunger for holiness and God's fellowship as I do now. I do not go to church anywhere now because there is not anywhere to go. If I open my refrigerator and every thing in there is spoiled, I am not going to eat the least spoiled thing I can find, neither does it make any sense to attend the least spoiled church.

I don't believe that God gives us burdens, because the Bible says nothing like that. The Bible does say that people cause their own misery. The Apostle Paul said that anything bad that happened to him as a result of his faith in Christ, was not a burden. We count it all as loss because of the hope that we have in Jesus. God doesn't give us burdens, he gives us relief for the miseries that come with this life

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

@@uriahdavid8529 That's not what that passage means. That verse refers to the way that an ox or a horse is "burdened" with a task or a job. In fact, it means the opposite of what you are trying to use the passage for: "my yoke is easy" means that Christ is inviting people to give their guilt and their sin to Him, and have that weight lifted from them.
"(13) When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; (14) *but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.* (15) Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death."- James 1:13-15

Lay your burdens down. If you are a believer, lay your burdens down at His feet. Then we will have more burdens. A burden of losing a loved one, being burdens concerning expenses, a burning house you live in, a loved one going down the wrong path, so many. Then you can have Jesus to carry them with you to rid at His (God's) feet.
