I’m currently playing this in late 2023 and I can confirm that they did not patch it. Closing the closet door on time was my only issue but I got it after like 2 tries so thank you this helped.

Well turns out, the game has cheese proof so it happens if you stand at the door doing nothing. But, the way to do it is by shining the light at bonnet. If you stand there without flashing bonnet, then funtime freddy will eventually kill you, or the door could open on it's own which can kill you easily.
I tried the strategy and it worked first time for me, it doesn't work 100% of the time but it works most of the time. Also one tip for all the night terror levels if you are on vr: use the top trigger to grab and close doors and use the bottom trigger for the flashlight.
I was able to beat the night thanks to this strat for those of you who think it's patched. I just kept dying because i couldn't close the closet door on time lmao
Nope, sometimes he will go through the right door and play a little animation of him coming towards you before killing you. I would know because that happened to me before the closet even opened.

the strat almost works. Funtime Freddy will approach the right hallway at 5am so at 5am, teleport to the right door and hold it shut until 6am. also shine Bonnet
It probably works on Vr but as for xbox it doesn’t work because vr shouldn’t ever be on console you have to be in free look and it’s not quick enough so you’ll just get jumpscared the whole time by bonbon but you can probably win regardless it’s just that you’ll be getting constantly jumpscared by bonbon

As soon as the closet opens, you gotta make THAT your priority. Dont flash your light before you close the door, because thats instant death. Once you close it, wait for the laugh and go back
Works on console too, but you have to let go of the door to shine light on Bonnet across the room and then immediately hold the door again :) He might not even go to the closet this way either!

it's even easier for switch cause when you flash the pink bon-bon, then go to the door, you don't even need to do the flashlight L method, OR the closet door. you just literally sit there at the door all night.

I can’t do it because on the far drawer bonnet spawns and I’m on Xbox and I am not able to have my flash light reach over there for some reason and the only way to do it is teleport back and I get jumpscared

February 2024, it’s still not patched. On my run, Bonnet never even spawned, and the closet event never triggered. I just sat forever and it worked.

I accedently froze Freddy in the hallway and he was permanently stuck. Bourbon and bonnets jump scares didn't even do anything

Either you didn't flash Bonnet. If you did make sure you hold the right door shut at 5AM because he goes to that door at 5AM

Bon bon does not kill you. He jumpscares you but doesn't kill you. Same with bonnet, the only one who can kill you is Funtime freddy.

Well I just turned on the Light and instantly shut the door every time. If he’s in front of the door he still won’t get you like that 🤷♂️

I think the bon bon and bonnet jumpscare work like phantoms were they alert funtime freddy and he comes to the door faster I guess
