I've been considering this one. Didn't know it was made in Ontario, so that's a big boost in it ranking. I think it's down to this and a Husqvarna hatchet for my pack axe.
I have a rheinland and a hults bruk for a long time so I'm good on camp hatchets. I like length of yours for a bit better packability and weight is good even for pounding tent stakes. And especially feathers ticking. Chipping I saw on the end of a stick is a useful idea.
How has it held up ? Any edge rolling on harder wood or if you hit knots ? Your thoughts on how it might hold up hitting bone ? Splitting deers rib cage and pelvis bone. Im looking for a good all around 10in to 12 inch small axe, for hunting and around camp , tent pegs, small bits fire wood etc etc.
The helco werk rheinland made in Germany is 14" top to bottom of handle and the hults bruk made in Sweden 15" not sure of the name but if you Google 15" hults bruk it should have a description. Weights are very close. Both hikory not varnished.
Tell us what you think about the mastiff gears carving hatchet.
I just bought the 13".Canada made an hour away sold me
I still love mine

Never used a rhineland but hults bruk has quite a reputation. Which hults do you have?
@@woodlandsnorth hmm .. good ? I'll see when I'm back tonight.
I got the rheinland from Amazon and the hults bruk from a sporting goods store in British Columbia years and years ago.
Thank you!
😊look’s very nice. 😊thanks and Happy New Year
It's a great little hatchet! Which one do you use? Best wishes!
Looks handy.
Sure is. Great to have around camp.

I like it. Looked on website but didn't see any mention of the kind of steel. Any ideas?
I beleive its 1060. I beleive i put the specs on screen in the video
Check 4:49 for all the specs.
Mines in the mail, can't wait. It looks like everything I want in a hatchet. And from north London, can't beat it.
