Katya is so amazing for taking care of her great grandmother. I work with elderly people here in America, and so many don't have family to depend on and end up in nursing homes to live out the rest of their lives. When my father's health began to decline i moved him in with my family and took care of him for 15 until he passed in 2021. It was not always easy, and i know not everyone can do it, but for me I felt it was my duty to do it, he worked hard and gave his children a good life as we grew up, now it was my turn.❤🙏🏼

I did the same. Moved in with my father until he passed away. I never regret it. I feel like God blessed me to be able to spend his last days with him. I do miss him, though.

You don't know how much these videos of Katya and Maria lift my spirits. I'm partly disabled and live very isolated rurally myself in a 114 year old farm house on open range lands in Idaho. I've running water though! But use my wood stove everyday! I will until I'm 100.

My great-grandma died around this time when I was 27 years ago. She would have been 104 this year. And now the rooster is also dead. A truly sad story. He will never be forgotten. Such is country life, such us life.

My grandmother AND my Great grandmother were so wonderful and funny.... my great grandmother would make me something to eat and then she would make funny faces at me out of the corner of my eyes until I started laughing.... and then she would always give me cookies, and hugs. After I finished my whole plate of course. It's good to see that your grandmother is happy enough to sing.

Kathie says…Dear Katia, you are truly Blessed to have such a Beautiful Grandma! She reminds me very much of my Grandma, who has been in Heaven since 1956. I remember her very long white hair that she kept in a neat little bun on top of her head. I don’t remember her singing, but I DO remember that she crocheted the same doily patterns as your Great Grandma does! 🩷. I have her doilies saved for my daughter and granddaughters to keep someday. My Grandpa and their eldest 3 sons were born in your part of the world…Drohobycz, when it was part of Poland. From stories that I have been told in my younger days, their lives and their daily chores remind me of all that you do. I watch your videos with my mother, who is also 90 years old. We laugh because the blood pressure cuff is identical to the one she uses. You are such a blessing thank you. She grew up in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada. Your posts reminder so much of when she grew up with her grandmother in the house, a coal stove, cow, and chickens.

All 4 of my grandparents immigrated to Canada from Halychyna at the turn of the last century but 3 of them died (2 at a ripe old age) before or just after I was born. I only knew one Baba and she lived across the country and only met her a few times before she died.
How wonderful of you to care and tend to her in her old age.
Through these videos, it's almost as if I get a window into their life before they emigrated. I love these videos. Many thanks from Canada!

Hello Katya, thank you for another wonderful video. Your love and devotion for your grandmother brought tears to my eyes. I lived with my grandparents from infancy to almost 9 years. My grandfather passed many years ago when I was only 8. He was just a small farmer in the rural southern U.S., but he taught me to look for the magic in the world. It has been a very long time since he passed but I will never forget him and his story he told me about the rabbits cooking their supper in the forest when I asked what the smoke was I saw from our country front porch when I was about four. My grandmother passed in 1994 and I still miss her. She passed down many wonderful southern recipes and a talent and love for "finger work", i.e., anything embroidered or sewn by hand or on her old treadle sewing machine. Was that a counted cross stitch pattern at the beginning of this video? I'm an avid counted cross stitcher - you might refer to it as embroidery, to us they are two separate things. I enjoy both, along with making small quilts, hand appliqued felted wool and sewing on my machine when I'm able. Your grandmother is lucky to have someone at this stage of life as knowledgeable as you to help with her healthcare and as loving as you are. I loved when she sang to your daughter, didn't understand a word of it, but the sentiment was there. She still has a strong beautiful voice. Please give her my kindest regards from America. Pardon my long ramblings, but your video stirred so many wonderful memories for me. (Your grandmother is very talented also, loved the crocheted doilies and the other needlework piece she is working on.)
