- Renishaw's RESOLUTE™ absolute encoder system is non-contact and provides fine pitch performance. This is encoder system is a revolutionary optical encoder, it is the worlds first absolute encoder capable of 27 bit resolution at 36,000 rev/min.That's 1.2nm resolution at 360km/h (220mph); but there's more than just speed. The RESOLUTE™ absolute encoder results in ultra low sub-divisional errors as well as impressive low noise levels.
Renishaw's RESOLUTE™ absolute encoder has a miniature ultra-high speed digital camera inside the read-head. It works but the controller sending a request for positioning data, when this happens the read-head acts a digital camera and takes a photo of the coded scale. The detector ASIC captures light and dark lines - as this occurs the high speed DSP processes data to determine the absolute position. The data is then sent to the controller.
The single track optical scale has a fine pitch (30 µm graduations) for superior motion conttrol. The open non-contact design provides excellent dynamic performance while being immune to dust, scratches and light oils. The Renishaw RESOLUTE™ is sealed to IP46 for wipe-clean recovery.
RESOLUTE™ has seperate built-in position-checking algorithms. It continously monitors temperature, signal and speed - any potential problems are detected and flagged before the data researchs the controller.
The RESOLUTE™ readhead and RESO™ rings are bolt-hole compatible with our SiGNUM range.
Single tracks are more benefical compared to conventional dual-track optical systems due to a dual-track's low tolerance to yaw de-phasing. RESOLUTE's single track results in a much wider yaw tolerance - 25 times better than a comparable dual-track.
RESOLUTE™offers a wide variety of rotary and linear absolute scales.
