At 13:42 your video skips when talking about the swing away range of the 16 x 20 model. Can you expand and reiterate what got cut off from the video? So, does it swing away farther than the 15 x 15...
Sorry about that. Yes, the 16"x20" Signature Series Swing Away (heat.press/sig1620s) does swing completely away, giving you full access to the lower platen. As shown in this video, the 15x15 Signature Series swing away does not, with a small portion of the upper right corner remaining covered by the heating element. If you're looking for a 15x15 model that fully swings away, check out the Black Series (heat.press/blk1515s).
Love your presentation. I was planning on a swing away since my clam died. But now I will be purchasing the clam with slide out and auto open. Thanks for the great info
Yes, the Sawgrass Virtuoso SG800 can print 8.5"x11", 8.5"x14", and 11"x17" right out of the box. With the optional bypass tray, you can print up to 13"x19" Sawgrass SG800: heat.press/sg800 Bypass Tray: heat.press/sg800bypasstray
15" x 15" for sure. 12" x 15" is more of a specialty size for crafters and businesses that only customize smaller items. If you plan on doing adult-sized tees and garments, you'll want to go with at least a 15"x15" heat press.
It's a very common size and works well with most shirts. If you plan on doing a lot of shirts that are adult 2XL or larger, you'll probably want to upgrade to a 16" x 20" heat press. It's just easier to center big garments on a bigger press.

What size do you recommend for a start up small business? 12x15 or 15x15.

is 15x15 the minimum size platen you recommend for tshirts?
