The song was meant to explain everything that happened to them in 2014 with the members leaving the company and "breaking their promise" to EXO-L to always be one. (EXO's slogan is "We Are One" -- one as a group and one with their fans. So, when the Chinese members left, the rest of the members felt like as a group they broke that promise.) It's an apology to the fans. EXO is saying they are sorry for causing the fans pain and for making EXO-L sad.
