    The irs says the reason we pay taxes is for protection.. but from what?.. I didnt ask my government to invade other countries for their oil or opium so why should I pay taxes to support their corrupt ways? If i do something illegal I got to jail and im forced to pay fines and fee's, my government doesnt protect me and give me a free pass or pay my attorney fee's...so what the fuck kind of protection are they giving me?.. Am i paying for my constitutional rights? No, we pay taxes to fund our corrupt government...I may have this shit wrong but thats how it seems to me.

      if someone is doing cash jobs and not declaring the money as income, whats the best thing to do with that extra cash? just keep it out of the system somehow? buy gold and silver? if you keep it in cash it loses its purchasing power over time, or just put it in your bank account a little every week and hope no one notices, say you make $1,000 a week LEGIT but you make an extra $500 on the side cash jobs, what would be the smartest thing to do with that extra $500 a week? buy stocks? buy gold?

      I wouldnt buy stocks... maybe id go for some gold, silver, other precious metals, etc,. But real world things are more important. id for sure Invest extra money i have into other things that can bring value to someones life or something that can solve someones problem... whatever that looks like to you. Maybe invest in a garden and pay someone to take care of it then sell off the food you grow as organic to some people that are interested.
      Maybe use upwork and pay someone to make some illustrations for a coloring book youd like to make and sell later on, online or make the book yourself at home and sell them to people in your area.
      I hope i at least got your gears rolln cheers m8

Because I need a firm reasoning to tell my employer why it is in their best interest to to hire people as contractors rather than paying cash and they don't care if they might get caught for the illegal aspect. They need to see if it will affect their tax breaks or help their assets value

    First off all a warenty is not avected by cash payments, secondly you DO NOT have to declare anything to the tax office under a serton amount as you can earn a serton amount before you have to pay tax, but when the tax man pay you a visit to go through your books you have to account for the extras and as well as what you pay out for out side of your business. The odd cash job is OK so long as you can AC count for it.

    • @DanstheEngineer
      @DanstheEngineer  3 года назад +1

      You have to declare your earnings regardless of the amount and whether it is under the threshold to pay tax. There is also a list of 'income' you have to declare outside of your normal income. The gov.uk website explains more www.gov.uk/check-additional-income-tax

    Good video, my friend years ago used to get paid cash in hand from his boss. It was just a little low paid job he had when we were teenagers.
    I can't understand how it benefits the employer paying someone cash in hand tho, surly it would benefit the employer to show he's paying out more and making less profit. Otherwise when the employer pays his tax, it looks like he's made more than he really has. Maybe they were laundering drug money or something. What do you think? Thanks 👍

    Tax may take a chunk of your wages but if you qualify for tax payments always pay your tax, it's not worth getting on the wrong side of the law, it's all good until it's all bad, I have suspicions of businesses in my town that pay cash in hand and don't require their workers to pay tax and it's ridiculous, imagine the trouble you could get into, not only that, you're draining your country, you're part of your NHS collapsing, it's not in ANY way worth it for an extra few pound per month
