I don’t know why Jackson/Fender doesn’t sell this guitar as a stripped down base kit. No tuners, pickups, etc. for the people who are just going to completely mod it anyway. I bought mine second hand, in pretty much mint condition, for $100. After changing pickups, tuners, bridge, pots, etc, it’s an amazing player.
Did you ever happen to get the gloss black one with the soapbar pickups to mod? I just got one and am planning on doing the same bridge upgrade with Tone Ninja locking tuners and a set of EMG 707s. Not sure if Jackson made these like this on purpose, but they are awesome upgrade platforms. The control cavity has plenty of room for the preamp and battery pack. Loving the videos!
I know you've made fun of it ever since you did it, but I like your relicing job! Looks better than boring ass solid black, imo. Your videos helped me move further into upgrading my guitars and I thank you for that 🤘
That really depends on how you feel about the neck? It’s quite rounded… solid, but rounded. If I were to get back in to 7 strings I would try out a bunch of brands before making another purchase. But for the most part if you spend the same amount as you spend on these upgrades and the guitar on a different guitar… you would still want to do the Tuner and Bridge Upgrades. For the most part you aren’t getting Hipshot or proper locking tuners until you hit almost $2k. Cheers -Ryan
@@bluearrow2760 buy a higher end guitar. You can put all the great parts you want but it’s never gonna fix a thick ass neck with crap fret work. I sold it and bought a schecter KM7. Way nicer overall
Very nice sound, i listened many times. This record made only on bridge ionizier pickup? Or you blend it with neck? I have same guitar and your answer will be important for me. Thanks!
What is that song you started playing at 3:55? Just got me a 7 string and nothing to play on it coz the only band I know is Korn but their songs are too basic.
Great work on the guitar I really like it !! Also that track on the end was 🔥. I have a question.. how do I remove the original knobs? (i have the same guitar) Do i just pull them of or is there any other way? great video!
These knobs you can just pull off, however, you can always grab a cloth and slide the cloth underneath the knob and then wrap the cloth together and pull it off. If you google/RUclips search you will be able to find an example of it. Cheers -Ryan
I love the guitar and the mods on it, but I don't dig the relicing on it. Relicing might look good on vintage guitars, but totally not on 7 string metal guitars.
I agree... I'm not a big fan of the Relic Job that I did. BUT I often forget that I have this guitar and now it sticks out in the racks of guitars that I have! Cheers -Ryan

A true djentleman! I have this exact model and I'm ready to do some mods.
I picked up this guitar and did all the same stuff after watching your previous videos. It’s a great guitar now
I have a question for you, what was the final cost, and is it worth it opposed to buying a higher end guitar

@@Crypticmaskguitar Ok I am gonna try this! I just wanted to be sure so that i don't damage the guitar. Thanks a lot 🙏🏼🤘🏼
Are the tuners the 6 in line ones??
Sperzels are interchangeable (Left/Right) so these were 7 in line.... and then changed accordingly. Cheers -Ryan

Uh… but it sounds tasty… I have the same guitar. And I actually want to put a flamed maple top on it…
