  • Cleaning the infamous Beretta 92fs (civilian version of the US military Beretta M9). This gun hadn't been cleaned in a while, so there is quite a bit of grime. Smooth shooter, great gun. This one belongs to a friend, but I'm going to have to pick one up for myself one of these days.

    I can't tell you how refreshing it was to watch this video. Action does speak much louder than words. Not one word was spoken and I saw everything there was to know about this weapons cleaning. It is so hard for me to watch a video with someone that loves the sound of their own voice. Endless dribble about a lot of unrelated subjects. Thanks again.

    All I want to say is I really love your video. As a Beretta owner I see all these people showing and telling how they clean but a lot of them I feel are so illogical. You on the other hand didn't even have to say a word and showed exactly how I would clean my 92A1. Keep up the good work! Definitely the best video I could find for these handguns! I could actually watch yours the whole way through!

    Used a lot less oil when cleaning than a lot of the other videos on cleaning the 92FS but this made more sense to me - especially using alcohol instead of gun oil to clean where I don't think there should be oil.

    Spraying the parts down with some Non Clorinated Break cleaner does a nice job removing any grime Powder soot etc just about $3.00 Bucks in any Auto Store works better than the gun sprays that they sell for 5- 10 Bucks etc.

    Question: Now the gun is oily from the outside too. I am super weird that way and cannot stand oil on the outside when I am later using the gun. How do you remove the oil from the outside? With the same patches or you do something else too?

    I appreciate your sharing this video, and yes, action speaks a thousand words more than spoken word. I came across your video because I stripped my Beretta Centurion and embarrassingly cannot put the slide back (after decades of absence at the shooting range). Finally, RUclips came to mind and stumbled on your superbly done video. Videos are now being watched globally, and if you have an accent, some people on the other side of the globe can hardly understand your English, just saying. If you can accept constructive criticism, I wish next time to do your video, you should use a lighter table top background on dark-colored handguns, and vice-versa for more visibility (contrast). Please improve the video contrast next time.

    Unsafe, Improprer clearing of firearm. BIG FAIL.

    • @brentfoto
      @brentfoto 8 лет назад +3

      +Scuzzy Skeeter I will try not to insult you. First, he cocked back hammer on a presumably loaded firearm. That is bad- really bad. Second, he removed the magazine. That should've been done first instead of second. Then he did not place the safety ON; that should really have been done first of all before even removing the magazine. Next, he racked back the slide and visually checked the chamber. That is incomplete- one's eyes can trick, especially in poor lighting. He should have locked back the slide, visually and then tactilely checked the chamber with a finger to confirm it empty. So, for all of you who need a lesson in proper clearing procedures. safety ON, drop mag, lock back slide, visually and tactilely check chamber empty (confirm mag well empty also). Done. And one only does it once, that is all that is needed.

    • @scuzzyskeeter9541
      @scuzzyskeeter9541 8 лет назад +1

      brentfoto Cocking a hammer on a loaded firearm is not bad, it allows for ease of racking the firearm, to surpass the double action. Also he took the safety off, TO DISASSEMBLE THE FIREARM. Also Mr Chris Costa, putting you're finger in a chamber for "felt" safety is not necessary. Another thing to keep you from being triggered in the future, trigger discipline is only a new thing, and very recent, even though it is a safety must, one of the most popular pictures of John Browning is him holding a firearm, violating trigger discipline, would you try to lecture John Browning, himself on firearms safety? That guy can make a gun out of his pubes in 3 seconds.
