Have you guys got a hold off the 2018 Antares MD/DC? Just got one from Japan and paired it with the Conquest 904. It balances about an inch in front of the reel, is light in the hand. Going fishing with it next weekend, first weekend of spring break, just hoping to catch some early spawners here in Texas. Had some making beds a couple of weeks ago, but have had some cold weather that has pushed them back out deeper.

Plus I have a metanium dc which I just don’t want to use it for jig fishing, but rather jerkbaits, small swim baits, shaky heads, etc. I could just do way more with the 1611m+ which is the rod that is used in this vid. Or I would get a aldebaran mgl 30 and put it on(yes it sound stupid bu the rod is really sensitive for some dumb reason) my 610 duckett ghost medium action because of how light it is. 1rod1reel has had his antares for something like 16 years and he still uses it all the time. If that's not a testament to quality I'm not sure what is. Personally the metanium MGL is my favorite reel of all time, but this 70 size looks sweet

Simply put, not your average fishing joe reel, unless you're a hardcore enthusiast or have extra disposable income, it ain't for you. Don't forget to match a good rod with it too. With that said, it's an awesome reel, only if i can afford one. 😁
I'm looking to buy a new casting reel to replace my Quantum Vapor PT. I've been eyeballing the Tranx 300-400 and the Curado DC but can't decide on one. Which reel would you say is the most versatile and which cast the furthest? I do inshore saltwater fishing for rockfish, bass, striper, and salmon fishing and I would prefer to get a reel that will be able to handle all those species. I'm assuming the tranx would be best because of the line capacity and heavier drag, but with my style of fishing, especially for rockfish, I throw into the wind a lot so I'm thinking the DC is better for that.
Looks sweet. Way more than I would spend, but has features that will trickle down to everyone in a few years. If I dropped it over the side, I would just die. That alone makes me keep my combos in the 4 to 500 range.
I love the reel and could prolly swing it money wise but idk if I could bring myself to spend over half a grand on a fishing reel. I have a few Lews that I love and seem to be great... What I don’t know won’t hurt me I guess lol.. great video as always.
That was a Great day fishing , mostly in one area. How about showing a side view image (Humminbird) of an area when you get into them like that? Realize you couldn't fishing down a bank but when you are knocking there socks off in one area it would be nice to see what you are fishing! (structue wise) Thanks

Diminishing returns. It's quite steep past the Chronarch and Bantam and actually now moving steeper with the Curado K.

You can add clicking drag kit to many reels. Search it on eBay. I’ve done it to several of my reels.

Tranx is good for throwing big swimbaits and deepdiver.. Else the curado dc is good enough for light game

Regular Metanium mgl, I have 2016 Antares DC, aldebaran mgl and 5 steez sv tw. Metanium is an all purpose reel.
