How to quick-attach the Hatka 12L to the Jääkäri M, L or XL

  • The Hatka 12L was conceived as a part of a special military load carrying system, which needed a small daypack that could easily be attached to a larger backpack. One really awesome way to do this is to attach the Hatka to the side compression straps using PALS-mounted SR buckles.
    Our packs are made with ITW Classic or 2M WB series side-release (SR) buckles. For this quick-attach trick we recommend using 2M WB SR PALS-mount female buckles (as shown here, and yes we sell these). You will need four of these to securely attach the Hatka 12L to the back of your Jääkäri M, L (shown here) or XL.

    Kanniskelin Jääkäri XL rinkkaa viikon verran ensimmäisellä pitkällä pohjoisen vaelluksella, kilometrejä kertyi n. 80 rinkka selässä. Lähtöpaino 27 kg. Huippuhyvä kantolaite, varsinkin kun rinkka oli vuokrattu matkalla kohteeseen ja kantolaitteen asetuksiin en kerinnyt perehtymään tai niitä säätämään, onneksi oli valmiiksi suurinpiirtein sopiva. Vakuutuin siitä, että voisin ostaa XL:n omaksi ns. loppuelämän rinkaksi, sen verran kevysti lasti siirtyi paikasta toiseen. Isona plussana, verrattuna moniin muihin rinkkoihin (vrt. Mystery Ranch tai vastaava sikakallis sotilas reppu) on myös 100% vedenpitävyys. Tai no, kondenssi oli muutaman puuropussin kastellut makuupussiosaston verkkotaskussa, mutta se on pieni juttu. Sateella ei tarvinnut kavereiden tavoin heittää sadesuojaa rinkan päälle. Kaipaisin jotain hyvää Savotta laatuista organisointi pussia, tyyliin washbag tai vastaava, mihin saisi kätsymmin kaikki pikkukilkkeet järjestykseen ja nopeasti saataville. Tämä Hatka malli on myös pakko-ostos rinkan kaveriksi, kunhan nyt saisi talouden taas siihen malliin, että pääsee yleensä Savotta kaupoille. 🫡🇫🇮

      Similar effect, but we use the base packs own side compression straps instead of separate added straps. This is not a new trick by any means, it has been done for pretty much as long as packs have had side compression straps, perhaps most notably by Kifaru since the early 2000's.

    • @ravenseye97
      @ravenseye97 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@TimothyKeys So when using the hatka and jakkari in conjunction with one another. You can attach the hatka to the top of the bigger pack if you buy some of the male and female buckles for them. Attach the buckles to the desired straps, in this case I put mine on the shoulder tightening straps for the bigger pack, at the top of the shoulder straps. With a little guess work you now have a detachable day pack in a better area for improved weight distribution.
      Reference the USMC FILBE pack system and how the day pack attaches to the main pack for a better idea as to how this would look.

    • @Savotta
      @Savotta  Год назад +6

      The buckles need to be purchased separately. We chose not to include them with the pack since most people will probably just use the Hatka as a regular little pack. And some people prefer other type of buckles or simply G-hooks to do this trick. We simply didn't want to force people to pay for something they don't need.

    "How to clip and strap Hatka 12L on a larger packs?"
    I think you have a Typo in the title; either cut the "a" or the "s" at the end of "packs"
    "a" implies a singular form, whilst "packs" is plural, contradicting itself a little.
    I don't know if this was RUclips's auto-title translation; if not, just remove the "a" or the "s" at the end of "packs" and you are good to go.
    Thank you for the video, very simple and ingenious way of connecting such a pack, I love your functional design that doesn't go for needless fancy cool looking workarounds for such simple solutions.

      These, made by 2M:
      www.savotta.fi/products/2m-wb-sr-pals-mount-25-mm-female
      Optionally, if you already have ITW GT QASM buckles for the Hatka, you could get ITW GT-series buckles for your Jääkäri L: the adjustable male buckles are quick and easy to switch, switching the female buckles requires you to cut off the old ones and replace them with ITW GT split-bar ones.
      Such modificiations are of course done at your own risk etc. etc. but it's an easy mod to do.
      Or, if you want to go really slick: just replace the SR-buckles on your Jääkäri L with G-hooks!
