There are some songs that you could argue are technically worse, but they had quirks that made them more interesting. UK was average and bland and therefore got completely left behind unfortunately.
The jury votes for the originality, performance, vocals and all that and the UK entry was the most BASIC of them all. It was one of those songs you could hear everytime in reality shows and disco, pubs ecc. Literally NOTHING special, so it deserved 0 points tbh.
@@jdsrne22 Seriously, don't bring up politics, the UK has been doing poorly in Eurovision for years, long before Brexit. Other countries who struggled for years have been upping their game in recent editions such as Cyprus, Belgium, Bulgaria and a great example is Switzerland. Switzerland didn't qualify for years, was last place in their semi for two years in a row (2015) (2016) and recently got 4th place (2019) and 3rd place (2021). So all the UK need to do is send not only good songs, but great songs with great staging concepts, suitable styling and be able to sing it well. When all of that is done, you'll get better results. In 2017,2011,2009 ye got good results because of either staging, having a great song or both. Also countries like Israel, Ukraine and Russia have done well in recent years despite having political issues.
Yes, the right country won. Italy was long overdue for a win. I'm so glad that a completely non-english non-pop song actually won! And not only that, 4 out of the top 5 songs weren't in English. ESU IS CHANGING!
im my opinion having Switzerland win would have been great but the song had the same genre and feel as arcade did (the previous winner). the great thing about eurovision is the amazing variety of genres and songs that are presented and a song like Italy hasn’t won recently and it was something new and fresh (2017 a sad song, 2018 weird quirky song, 2019 a pop ballad) and having a rock song win is something that feels fresh and rewarding in ways as it shows the diversity of this show and its audience
oh yes, Swiss had quality but it seems as Arcade 21. After all public vote is what matter the most and Italy deserved their win. Apparently people needed more energy this year
You say that, and yet Rira Ora is apparently suing the song for sounding similar to 'anytime'. I think people just didn't want Cyprus to do well. The song is fantastic and been the first song to top the world wide top10 definitely says something about it!
I think it’s been better this year than 2019 though personally, i felt so bad then but even though my favourite (Malta) came 7th, I feel better, maybe because it isn’t my first year as a super fan
Italy 100% deserved to win because not only are they extremely talented musicians but they were also providing something so different than anyone else. I'm really bummed for James because he seems like such a sweetheart but it was an alright song in a year full of great songs.
It was a catchy tune first time I heard it thought it would do well, but the tune could also pass for an Italian beer commercial .My top pick was Estonia, was sad that guy didn’t go through he deserved to be in final.
@@GoldKingsMan Saying Italy's song sounded like something that could be "in a beer commercial" is rich coming from someone whose favourite was Estonia. 😶
people are fed up with this pop-diva-ladygaga-rhianna-be-like songs. They sound all the same. Italy, Ukraine, Fnnland, Island were something else. I wish more country would sing in their language, it was soo fresh and beautiful to hear something else as english.
Oddly enough usually the songs in English tend to do well. But this year the top songs were in French, and Italian. As well as a number of strong songs in native language as well.
@@GoldKingsMan "Choco moco" is the name of ice cream in Serbia. They are saying that he is so sweet like Choco moco (so are they) that's why they should be "loco" together. The lyrics are funny and sound like child game, little bit like the Eurovision from 2000's. Wrong song, and wrong performance for this kind of Eurovision, but they are really good singers. They didn't pick the song .
Ukraine (2nd highest public votes) and Russia, the two most unique entries this year, charted better than those early favourites. I'm happy for them. Italy deserved the win. All of the song in the top 10 deserved it.
Iam so proud of my new home country Iceland. They got the 4th place with a presentation from last week. The would have be done even better live yesterday for sure. Daði had planned something new in their live presentation. He is so creative. ❤
I would have voted for them if my heart hadn't been forever stolen for Switzerland. Iceland are my second favourites, and Dadi is just something totally special.
So glad you got a soft spot for Portugal's song! Yes, Black Mamba is a great band, very underrated in Portugal unfortunately. Thank you Georgina for being a fan. And thank you for your videos I enjoyed them very much. Many greetings from Portugal ❤
Actually multiple countries getting zero points in a really strong year makes perfect sense. In order to get any points at all you need to be on either a jury's or a country's top 10. When you have over 10 (I dare say objectively) far superior choices in song, originality, vocal, and staging, it makes sense for them to not get a single point, cause they were not in enough people's top voting choices.
Strategic voting, some had a much bigger chance to win. Other votes seemed pointless. But it really skewed the voting. And some genres may have had too many songs so their vote was spread out.
Ukraine was robbed in my opinion, they had the most original, most culturally significant song, an incredible genre mashup with layers and layers of meaning in both the lyrics and the performance. That being said, I totally understand why Italy took the prize in the end, their song definitely had the most mass appeal.
And I totally don't. Amid such strong entries as Switzerland, Iceland, Ukraine... This messy cacophony of Italian song couldn't have had any appeal at all. So their win remains total mystery for me.
I love both songs so I can happily cosign that. France is good too. However to noisy cacophony person - you have to look past your personal taste. Greece wasn't really my jam but I can appreciate its quality.
Go-A and all the artists in the reply section got a really good score, so I don't see how they were robbed. But I do think måneskin is very overrated. If you're in the eurovision community in any way and you criticise them, their toxic fanbase collapses on you.
To be honest, i thought Portugal would be at least in the top 5 this year. I think the given points were unfair. Black Mamba did a fenomenal job and i'm very proud of them. They already won for me. Greetings from Portugal 😊❤️
I loved Black Mamba's song! Voted for Portugal on both shows. Is this generally their music style? I'll have to listen into their other songs. Greetings from Austria!
I was waiting for you to react to this. I personally thought that the overall quality of the songs was insanely good this year. I am happy Italy won. :)
the televoting was really brutal 😅 four countries with 0 points but that's why i love them, it can change everything. Most of the jury votes are political for example Greece and Cyprus so we need the televoting 🤩 I can't wait for the next Eurovision in Italy 🇮🇹❤️
Everyone complains about the cyprus and greece televoting but no one can explained why the 3 leading pop songs(Cyprus,Malta,San Marino) all got robbed. San marino 22nd?😐 There was very clear geopolitics being put into play
It's not political. Greece and cyprus are a family. Each year, all the people are blaming them. But when Sweden gave 12 points to Norway or Finland, nothing's happening.
@@munchermuncher7663 They are all pop songs, girl! And San Marino was way worse than the other songs. On Malta we agree, she should have been in the top 5, cause she rocks, she really does.
@@munchermuncher7663 what's so great about San Marino song? The only political (and disgraceful) thing that happened was receiving 12 points from Polish jury in return for receiving 12 points from San Marino during semi-final in return for getting invitation to perform at Polish TV. Zero attention to music, only connections - that's what I don't want to see. I wish there was no jury voting
Ukraine was my favourite, but Italy was great as well. I really missed Croatia yesterday, she almost got into the final, but Tix from NO got 5 points more. Just like Poland in 2019, missed the final by 2 points, it still hurts me! :)
@@selena3626 I love Ukraine, great energy and exquisite blend of traditional music with modern production. I get why people may not like them but I haven't stop listening to them since the final, same with Italy.
There were many many great songs this year, the competition was strong BUT when i first heard italy i knew they had to win, every single hair from my body got goosebumps. Biggest surprise for me was Cyprus being 16th, i was sure shed rank higher.
That's something people who don't know anything about ESC would say. Someone like her. Too bad she monetizes videos about ESC and doesn't even bother to educate herself.
Why a controversial ending? I appreciate the public vote a lot more than that of a politically motivated jury. I hope in the future they ban the jury votes.
I really love the song, beautiful voice and the lead singer has so much class and elegance - unlike all the other women in glitzy-shiny minidresses basically shaking hips and hair...
I was gutted that the Ukraine didnt win it, but im glad they got top 5. They were my personal favourites, however i see why the other 4 songs were above them. Italy deserved to win it. Also im glad that Malta got slayed by the fan vote. Also, good video.
I'm so sad for the UK. I like the song, it's happy and catchy and James Newman - Embers' performance was very good. I really don't get why it went so unappreciated. Yes, France and Switzerland both deserve being at the top of the scoreboard. As an Italian, I'm not commenting on my country winning the ESC after 31 years (I'd be biased, y' know). Thank you, Georgina, for keeping us company throughout the last three months. Your videos helped me listen to all of this year's entries from a different perspective. Can't wait for the 2022 ESC!
Lol say whatever, there are billion songs in the world and ofc some of them are going to sound similar. Plus is too easy for all the other countries to blame us of "copying" a song cause we are a tiny country and nobody supports us. Azerbaijan singer and performance was literally a copy of Ariana Grande but nobody said anything. Even in 2018 we sent Foureira and still they didn't want us to win. Understandable, but stop saying each year that we copy songs. Everyone tries their best and if you do not wanna vote us then don't lol.
Italy absolutely deserves the win 🏆 firstly, just look at the bands presence and charisma. The song is absolutely amazing the lyrics are extremely good. And I can't see a song like Switzerland winning. People are sad enough and ballads just had no chance. People need something fun and they got it. Finland was the only other choice for me. Rock will never die 🤟🏻
The only one with charisma on the italian stage was the lead singer... rhe rest are totally forgettable. But congrats to Italy, although not my favourite,. Sad for Switzerland, but Gion will have a great career , I predict that this Italian band will soon be forgotten
Although I'm italian, I liked the songs from Switzerland and France, but the problem maybe was that they reminded a bit of other songs, they didn't sound really unique... besides in the final I thought the french singer was shouting a bit too much towards the end of the song, I would've preferred it to be more subtle. Switzerland on the other hand had great vocals and dreamy music, but to me he totally lacked stage presence, the whole staging seemed to be off actually and why was he dressed like an ice skater at the Olympics?! 😅 Maneskin won because they completely owned the stage with a catchy rock song and they seemed to have more charisma than the others. When it comes to selling records, a beautiful voice is not everything (think about Madonna for example). Besides thanks to Eurovision many people discovered their music and that they have other very beautiful songs which they write themselves. I'm not a huge Maneskin fan, I don't listen to italian music much, but I think they're the best thing we've had in ages. What really struck me about them from the beginning was the fact that they were so young and yet seemed to be so professional, musically mature and charismatic. The jury votes were absolutely disappointing cause as always most countries are voting for other fellow countries or for those that are not a threat to them, thank you people from Europe for making things right!
I loved France's song and the singer was talented but the song was dated. If I had heard it out of context and someone had told me it was a hit from 1965 I would have believed them.
I am Italian, fell in love with Måneskin years ago, have been rooted for them ever since. I can't say they did didn't deserve to win... but in all honesty, I would've voted for France based on the performance in the final. She was absolutely incredible and the lyrics, her personal history and just the sheer interpretation were just off scale. Nonetheless, my appreciation got tainted the minute France tried to have Italy disqualified through defamatory claims, after being beaten to the trophy. France has always been a sore loser.
Rock is everywhere. If all the world's rock bands assembled and competed, Italy would have been blown away. But because they showed up at a competition that's based around catchy, poppy, weird, novel, creative, awkward, and odd music.... and because they were one of three rock bands... they won. No doubt, they are GOOD. But I think the vote was split up among so many other performances, whereas the rock vote was only divided among three bands. I mean come on. It's fucking Eurovision. Not Aftershock, or Donauinselfest, or Soundwave, or whatever.
@@KhadirBek no they would have won either way because of the lead singer's looks and charisma. When you have a guy that everyone is attracted to you win, as long as the song isn't total crap. May sound simple but that's the way it is
By the way, Beyonce dressed alike ladies are Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears who perform in that costumes and almost every performer in world? So much hate in one comment for talented ladies who gave their best and vocal coach liked it. Disgusting 🤮
I am from Serbia so I wanted my Country to win. But that did not happened and my favorite outside my Country was Italy and Ukraine. I was so happy for Italy I can't explain it ❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm also from Serbia, but Italy and Ukraine were not my cup of tea, at all, sorry. They hurt my ears. My favs were Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal... More refined songs.
I hope that this year lights a fire up Big 5's and Host's asses to start sending good quality and experimental songs if they don't want to be in the bottom again. Or maybe lets stop automatic qualifiers and make Big 5 participate in semi's, maybe that'll make them send quality songs.
Spain isnt interested in winning, our national broadcasting doesnt choose good quality or boycott to not making us win. Plus yeah, the show is quite rigged. Since Pastora Soler, Edurne, Ruth or Barei lost, i just stopped watching, and this was a great choice bc the next years were a total circus of clowns
EBU relies way too much on the Big 5 for funding. If they had the funding then the Big 5 wouldn’t be as basic as they are. But then again San Marino had a global name on stage and really got nowhere. This is the reason behind big names not being interested in participating since it could be a defining moment in a negative way.
Considering that I'm Italian I might be biased, but I think that Italy is probably the only country of the Big 5 that takes this competition seriously. I mean take a look at the last years. We have sent good quality singers perfoming such a variety of genres: Nina Zilli (soul, R&B), Raphael Gualazzi (jazz), Marco Mengoni (pop ballad), Il Volo (opera), Fabrizio Moro and Ermal Meta (folk pop song, with a deep meaning against violence), Francesco Gabbani (elettropop song against the contradictions of modern society), Mahmood (contemorary R&B) and now Måneskin (rock). Plus, most of their songs were in Italian language. I now that our entry depends on Sanremo results (although Sanremo has nothing to do with ESC, being older), but I think that in the last years we have realized how important is to send a good singer to ESC.
I loved Malta, too. She slayed those vocals. I'm shocked about the public vote, she deserved much more. Switzerland did better in the public vote than Malta, but he was so brilliant. He was my winner. UK, well, sorry. These songs don't work for Eurovision. It's very radio friendly, it's a nice song, but “nice“ doesn't generate enough votes. Not a big fan of Greece, not worthy of the top 10. I would've loved to see Portugal in 10th place instead. Moldova, how in the world did they end up as high as they did? And us germans? I guess that's what happens when Germany tries to be funny? Loved Finland, strong Linkin Park vibes. Rock Eurovision!🤘 Super hyped for Ukaine's 4th place and 2nd place in the public vote. It's the ukrainian goth trance we never knew we needed. I liked France live so much better than the studio version, she was amazing. Well deserved 2nd Place. Sweden was just too unimpressive. I expected San Marino to do much better, but I'm kinda glad Florida didn't help with the votes. And Italy... damn Italy. They blew the roof off the arena. After Il Volvo, Francesco Gabbani and Mahmood, they finally did it with a brilliant rock band. Eurovision needs more rock, Finland did so well, too.
I liked the german song, really. It was weirdly catchy, so funny and reminded me of Mika (love him so much). But I'm happy that we finally won this year🥰
I loved Germany too, it was probably never going to be a winner but it didn't deserve such a low spot either. But Malta? Meh. Yeah she can sing, but in the end it's basically a rip-off of Toy - without the sass - turned into a generic "girl in sequins surrounded by dancers" act. That's what dragged her down. Same song, classy long dress and leaving the dancing to the dancers would have focused all the attention where it belonged: on her formidable voice.
Yeah, Germany was cute and catchy and energetic and lovely and funky and all of that, I expected them getting much much higher appreciation to be honest! Switzerland was of course the best, and professional jury acknowledged that😁 Italy was some incoherent noise and screaming chimps on stage, it's a shock they won, but, well... Shock happens)
Missed the beginning but could hear my mum had the TV on downstairs, wondered, as I went down the stairs why they were using a Lady Gaga song to open the show.
@@GoldKingsMan and I don't even think it was catchy, I couldn't repeat or sing it now, whereas Switzerland just keeps sounding in my head and in my heart. Among such magnificent entries as Switzerland, Iceland and Ukraine, the most ridiculous public choice this year, imo.
16:43 none of the instruments on Eurovision are played live (e.g. you can see that Maneskin's guitar and bass weren't even plugged in). It's due to Eurovision rules. They wouldn't have time to sound check everyone before the performence so instruments are always on the track. Only vocals are live.
Thank for you letting us know. I noticed it when I recently watched the video of Alexander Ryback (winner of 2009) : we can see that the string is broken lol
@@funkyart6830 plugged in to speakers so people could hear them. of course the drummer played, not just sat there on scene. but there where no mics surrounding drums so nobody would hear him playng.

I have to be brutally honest here, The UK did not do well, James' performance and his vocals were simply not good enough. He was out of breath, he looked and sounded like he just came out of the pub where he spent the entire day and night. The staging was ridiculous and his choreo ? What choreo exactly ? Really if the UK want that they are taken seriously at Eurovision, its time to take Eurovision seriously. I do think James is a really nice guy and I respect his talent, but this was just not it. It wasn't, sorry.
Exactly what I said to my family that song isn’t good for Eurovision, the staging wasn’t good enough he was trying, but it was so quiet no one was really cheering. we don’t have the sex appeal I mean if we even had Ed sheeran and we would still loose, they don’t like us and we do try so what’s the point it ain’t gonna change. All the other were even wearing the same revealing outfits grinding on stage where we had a overweight guy in a tight jacket no offence to him.
This may be a hot take, but I hated UK's 2020 song way more than I did this year's. I don't know if "My Last Breath" was meant to be hilarious, but I think I laughed at that one more than I did for anything else that came out of 2020. This year, I really thought they had a shot to get something better than not-last place. Embers was much more a Eurovision-type song, and I thought it was a better fit for James's vocal style. The staging wasn't great, but I will always pop for a good brass section. Good on him for taking it in stride, but I think he deserved better than nothing.
Yeah honestly I felt bad that he got 0 points but I can see why that happened...the song was just not good, especially in comparison with all the other entries
@@natasha8966 honestly, Switzerland was aesthetically embarassing and the moves were cringy as hell. But the song was good and the voice was otherworldly so podium. UK was dull and inconsequential. The singer was out of breath, the song was mediocre at best, and the staging was simplistic in a very bad way. The whole thing had nothing noteworthy, and in a contest when you have at least a dozen excellent performers with good songs of every genre, being unmemorable will give you zero points.
I agree with you ... They were the winners since the begin ... Many jurie votes were not linked to the music quality but driven by neighborhood logics .... That's why this ESC is most of the time a trash competition

Just love the love you feel for PORTUGALLLLLL 🇵🇹 yeah! They were Amazing! THANK you darling!
I loved Switzerland, but I'm so glad it was Italy with a rock song that got the trophy! 🇮🇹
Name of the Serbian girl with best vocals is Sanja Vučić. She also represented Serbia in Eurovision with her song Goodbye a few years ago
i thought they were Kardashians
‘Sam Sam Sam ,Choco mambo loco!’
Some people still can’t get singing and vocals are not only criteria for winning ESC
Ukraine actually did the flute thingie live in an interview. was pretty great. But i think all instrumentals were on tape, from all countries
like always, music hasn't been live for years, that is why that Moldovan saxophonist went full meme
Yeah, Im pretty sure the rules state that you can't play an instument on stage.
I liked that Ukraine was actually eastern european folk music. It wasn't really EDM
Lots of this year's songs could have won in other years. Well done Italy 🇮🇹 👏
I'm from Italy, and I'm really proud Maneskin won with such a great song
I'm italian and I'm proud of Maneskin and their victory🥰
Ukraine (2nd highest public votes) and Russia, the two most unique entries this year, charted better than those early favourites. I'm happy for them.
Italy deserved the win. All of the song in the top 10 deserved it.
Iam so proud of my new home country Iceland. They got the 4th place with a presentation from last week. The would have be done even better live yesterday for sure. Daði had planned something new in their live presentation. He is so creative. ❤
They were rad. Brought so much to the show.
Where were Samanta Tīna and her points do originality 😓
It was such a blast watching all this Eurovision content! Enjoyed every bit of it. Love from Holland ❤️
Yes yes yes! Italy was phenomenal 🇮🇹🇮🇹🎉🎉
Your description of Portugal's song exactly fits my feelings.👍
My personal winner was Iceland. Good vocals, good music, completely nerdy, but must say the top was very logical.
I love that a rock song won the competition! Who else?
♥️🎸✨
Ukraine was robbed in my opinion, they had the most original, most culturally significant song, an incredible genre mashup with layers and layers of meaning in both the lyrics and the performance. That being said, I totally understand why Italy took the prize in the end, their song definitely had the most mass appeal.
And I totally don't. Amid such strong entries as Switzerland, Iceland, Ukraine... This messy cacophony of Italian song couldn't have had any appeal at all. So their win remains total mystery for me.
I agree with you about Ukraine, it was pure folk music straight out of eastern europe. I loved france the most but Ukraine was amazing and so fun
Portugal was my finalist but they did GREAT ❤️🇵🇹
To be honest, i thought Portugal would be at least in the top 5 this year.
Portugal was one of my favourites this year. Love the song . In my opinion however the performance was MUCH better in their semi final. :)
@@inLmgb yes. They wanted to write something that meant to them, as well as the music style. A week ago on a pressconference, Tatanka explained that 😊
@@96503412 Yeah i think so too! I liked how they engaged With the audience 😊❤️
Black Mamba was my mom's absolute favourite! She actually cried that they didn't get too high 😢
San marino 22nd?😐
There was very clear geopolitics being put into play
It's not political. Greece and cyprus are a family. Each year, all the people are blaming them. But when Sweden gave 12 points to Norway or Finland, nothing's happening.
@@munchermuncher7663 They are all pop songs, girl! And San Marino was way worse than the other songs. On Malta we agree, she should have been in the top 5, cause she rocks, she really does.
Cyprus and Greece swapping 12 points does not equate to "most".
Do you think the Greek and Cypriot televoters didn't vote for each other?
It's nothing personal, but how can you like Ukraine? What's so good about people going crazy for it because it's one of Iceland's worst for me.
So... I noticed there's no more "i really don't understand why Italy brings a song in Italian, when ENGLISH SONGS ARE ABOUT TO WIN".
It’s good that we’ve all grew to accept songs of different languages.
@@siuniupiu So...goodbye to the juries, then!
Ukraine were my favourites but the jury vote really screwed them. But happy with Italy winning.
I was baffled by Belgium being criminally underrated by televoting :O Such a marvellous track
I really love the song, beautiful voice and the lead singer has so much class and elegance - unlike all the other women in glitzy-shiny minidresses basically shaking hips and hair...
She sang it not so good in the grand final...
I agree, loved Belgium (and the singer’s simple styling).
I love Belgium too! All the slow songs flopped this year, guess Europe and Australia weren't in the mood for them after the year we have just had.
I loved and voted for It, but everyone around me didn't like It, so i understand why didnt get much points
I was gutted that the Ukraine didnt win it, but im glad they got top 5. They were my personal favourites, however i see why the other 4 songs were above them. Italy deserved to win it. Also im glad that Malta got slayed by the fan vote. Also, good video.
Ukraine got gutted by the juries, it killed any chance of them winning. Luckily the public pushed it into top 5
Probably it's time countries should realize how important singing in your mother language
Awesome reaction!!! Love from Portugal
Thank you so much!!
I knew it would not do well cause the style wasn’t sticky enough for Eurovision, though a nice message behind it.
The chorus of “El Diablo” sounds really similar to Bad Romance by Gaga.
i exactly said that yesterday!!
And ´anywhere´ from Rita Ora

Unfortunately Switzerland didnt win but I happy I know this artist now - I am a big fan 🤗
As a former figure skater I couldn’t agree more with the Swiss guy looking like a figure skater at the Olympics 👌🏼😅⛸
I loved France's song and the singer was talented but the song was dated. If I had heard it out of context and someone had told me it was a hit from 1965 I would have believed them.
@@idek7438 and she was a walking French stereotype
France, my winner. A masterpiece and an extraordinary performance. Barbara was perfect!
Never heard a most boring and stupid song in my life
I completely agree. France was an absolute masterpiece, and Barbara is just Edith Piaf is every way...
Suitzerland for shore! Then sweden. France was the best in 2018 with Mercy, that ywas a great song!
Italy was from the beginning the real winner!

I actually liked that albania only had her on stage, all the other beyonce dressed alike ladies, had a lot of dancing
since the song was about a woman after breakup, the singer wanted only herself to show how strong she was standing alone. :)
Well, music was made for dancing. You should not show so much hate on Serbian girls. Albania was good, everyone was good, the best won and that’s it.

I was so happy for Italy I can't explain it ❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎉
The girls from Serbia were really good for me. Nice pop performance. Ciao 🇮🇹
Your song is verrrry popular in my country Switzerland right now, it was also in my top three! 🇨🇭💞🇷🇸
Rock Eurovision!🤘
Super hyped for Ukaine's 4th place and 2nd place in the public vote.
Malta just wasn't fresh
I liked the german song, really. It was weirdly catchy, so funny and reminded me of Mika (love him so much).
But I'm happy that we finally won this year🥰
Italy is not that great 😂 ples don't overract
Maneskin is awesome energy! Can't stop listening to this song. Love from Poland!
I llooovved Portugal. He sounds a bit like Tina Turner. Stunning voice

El Diablo sounds so much like Anywhere by Rita Ora and Bad Romance by Lady Gaga. I think many songs were sampled in general this year.
i agree! sounds bad romancre from lady gaga
Wolves by Selena Gomez. They have the same exact structure
Missed the beginning but could hear my mum had the TV on downstairs, wondered, as I went down the stairs why they were using a Lady Gaga song to open the show.
The resemblance is striking, both to Bad Romance and Alejandro. I've heard a mashup and oh boy, too similar.
Italy definitely deserved to win! So yes, the right country won.
ROCK N ROLL NEVER DIES
The composer of "El diablo" is the composer of some Ladys Gaga' s songs thats why is so similar
My winner was Switzerland. The song is a masterpiece and the guy sings like an angel!
It is over. It is a bit like a hangover feeling. Hahahaha. Switzerland and Ukraine were my favourites. Soft spot for Lithuania.
It was such a good Eurovision this year, while Italy isn’t my style of music, they still had a great performance
It was catchy tune, but later I thought it pass well for an Italian beer commercial also.
Plugged in Wifi? Look at the drummer and say again he wasnt playing :D
True, but hey, most participants have never even touched an instrument, let alonebe able to read notes or have had singing lessons LOL

Couldn’t have put it better myself. We will get the same old muck next year from UK
The whole thing had nothing noteworthy, and in a contest when you have at least a dozen excellent performers with good songs of every genre, being unmemorable will give you zero points.
its not just vocal that makes a song hit the whole package must be there which italy had it all period.

France competed with 38 other countries and it lost.
That girl was so sure to win, so selfish she said: "Oh, I am a part of an entirely francophone top-2". Well... never be too sure.
They traded votes, if one of those two songs weren't in the competition the other one would definitely win.

@@artemisfowldragon Kind of weird to call Italy generic rock in favour of Finland. Italy felt way more authentic in song structure, lyrics and composition while Finland was kinda derivative, reminiscent of 2000s alt rock, which is why a lot of people mentioned that it felt nostalgic.

The Netherlands won. The presenters were amazing with Nikkie set to take over TV as well as the web. Plus the NL acts were top talent. Davina and Glennis. The production was from year 3000
Best Eurovision ever....good songs, amazing stage, great diversity, stunning interval acts, fantastic host ...and the needed controversy. Some petty jealous people complaining of course, but their sour negativism will only hurt themselves.
