Heero was basically an orphan of war back then, now taken in by doctor j and was later trained to be a gundam pilot and a professional assassin. Even though, he screws it up sometimes.
He was also taken in by Odin as well which is mentioned that beginning of the story. The reasoning of which was that taking in the boy would help Odin have an easier time sneaking around as the two of them look like a father and their son. It was only later during the Frozen Teardrop background data that is revealed that Odin is actually Heero's natural father. At this time though Heero was just a no-name orphan Odin took in to help him blend in better while on jobs.
And to be fair, Heero was also in on Dr. J's plan to deliberately screw up "Operation Meteor", which was originally intended by the space-colony rebellion forces [and Dekim Barton] to lay waste to all of Earth before conquering it. Thus, the Gundam pilots fought the *_really_* difficult fight, of ultimately opposing both sides of the war.
The Leo's design and weapons haven't changed in 20 years... no wonder why they were outdated by the time the 5 Gundams arrived to Earth. I know that in the anime, when the Tallgeese is introduce they say that is more advance that even the last updated Leos but, what exactly did they updated? The energy consumption? The armor? Mobillity, perhaps?
The Tallgeese is actually the prototype to that of basic Leo therefore superior over that of the Leo like any mobile suit prototype in the Gundam Franchise. The Leo is basically a tuned down verison of the Tallgeese. Also why it was on par with the Gundams is that it was also designed and built by the Gundam Scientists. I do not remember which came first the Wing Zero Gundam or the Tallgeese but both were designed by the Scientists.

The outside design might be outdated, I think the parts, armor materials and OS systems is updated. M16 BLACK rilfe basic frame still uses and upgrade over the time, change the name as well. Same goes to the AK-47
Heero was my all time favorite Gundam pilot and just a Gundam character in general. He's straightforward and focused on his missions. Ever since Wing, he has been to me the coolest pilots out there with Setsuna and Mikazuki in close 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Agreed. IMO, as a kid, I think Heero was my first nontraditional antihero. Dude just didn’t give an ef about anything or anyone. Just the mission. That’s why Heero and GundamWing has always held a special place in my heart. Especially as a 90s kid. Lol.
I think despite how Gundam Wing had corny or bad executions *technically* , it was definitely fun to have a younger Gundam pilot not be an emotional character guideline that screams alot and happens to be some Newtype or Innovator. Heero may not be the best, But he's one of the most *sensible* pilots as the conditions actually made sense for how he would pilot a Gundam. Like I said, he's not fueled by exaggerated emotions and actually acts as a pilot, not a Superhero.

Also he was not antisocial or edgelord he was lonely af did you see him at school have any friendships or even capable of forming any beside with the other pilots ! Gundam Wing, when viewed in entirety is one of the best political anime ever. While yes it’s a great mecha series and a fine Gundam show, I think it’s easily In the top 5 for its political themes.
My favourite Gundam character of all time. Dgaf about everyone crying about him being an edgelord or psychopath when he actually isn't when you properly watch the show. My boy is badass, better and more skilled than Suletta Forgetta, but admittedly the latter is more likeable.

I'm going to tell you a curiosity about MS-Leo that only appears in gundam g-next with the expansion. "for those who don't know it's a classic game but very well produced and realistic in the gundam sd universe" the high cost of tallgeese and the danger of high mobility: just a single tallgeese is worth the same as 60 Leo's or more and if you buy that huge amount against a tallgese even if you are a great pilot at level ace tallgeese will die. basically the Leo's are great compared to other mass production starter units from other series. they are good and quick to produce they can be used in any environment and territory and they are very cheap the same price a Leo's army is better than a single tallgeese. and compared to the gundams in price the talgeese is a little cheaper but the wing has a greater range without needing to refuel. and the buster cannon if used causes damage to the mobile suite. the wing zero is a third more expensive but it is more resistant it lasts longer and in cost it is more expensive than a large battleship
I think the problem is that these stories have too many major characters meeting before they met in the show. It gives the feeling that the entire human race was like 5000 people. We're talking about construction and development on a planetary scale with a massive population. It's absurd that so many of these people should already have encountered each other. And what, NONE of them ever realized it? With all these people having fought alongside or against one another already, one would think that someone would have noticed later on. They could have kept most of these stories largely the same too. It's okay for there to be other characters that didn't appear in the anime. Just my two cents anyway. I'll always have a nostalgic soft spot for Gundam Wing, but I know it's honestly just... okay. It's not great, it's just okay.

We already knew that Noin was part of the Specials for a while, and Trieze being there is like Kakarot mentioned it was the newest colony therefore it is not all that surprised he was there to help protect it. As for Barton and his daughter we already knew he was a big figure in the Colonial Independence Movement and also owned the Barton Foundation which help fund this new colony. Speaking of which, Kakarot did not mention it in the video but this new colony is the same one that the Mariamaia Army used as its headquarters several years later.
