- "Mona Lisa" is a popular song written by Ray Evans and Jay Livingston for the Paramount Pictures film Captain Carey, U.S.A. (1950). The title and lyrics refer to the renaissance portrait Mona Lisa painted by Leonardo da Vinci. The song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1950.
Nat King Cole made the song famous when released in March 1950.
Mine is an up-tempo instrumental version using a BT available from Roger Paulsson’s 4th Album made in 2005. I beleive Roger's BT was based on Shakin Stevens version released in 1981.

Great version of Mona Lisa done in the Carl Mann style .He had the Rock a Billy hit with it as did a version by Conway Twitty in 1959.
