- Outlander's Sam Heughan recalls stepping out onto stage for the first time at Edinburgh Steiner School and reminisces about his time spent there and how it helped shape his passion for acting.

I’ve never heard anyone put it like that, about this sense that everything will be okay because you know that the world works in rhythms that support and nurture you. I have this sense too and I’ve never thought about it being related to my Steiner education but now I realise there’s something in that!

Bea Ed there’s a dark corner in human souls which seeks to destroy that which it wishes to be. Rather than reach to be like those they admire some seek to tear them down. It’s a twisted, ultimately self destructive impulse that leaves the perpetrator the poorer since they no longer have anything to aspire to. Sending love & light to Sam.

It sounds as if Sam received an excellent and wholesome education. That is a good thing. He is very intelligent and down - to -earth . His mom is very proud of him. She did a great job raising him.

I can't say enough about Waldorf and Steiner schools as 2 of my grandchildren began in preschool and continued through high school in New Hampshire and my youngest granddaughter is just starting Kindergarten in Rochester NY. They have the most amazing educational program available. They teach children how to think no what to think.

Mr. Heughan is amazing there and loved to llsten to him speak on the school and all that he does God bless him and to me may I add that he is a great teacher now to me, I Learned Gaelic because of him.

My daughter attends a Waldorf school here in the US and yes we love that they give the children freedom to cultivate there creativity. Also that they encourage her to explore her interests further.
This was wonderful, I am raising my kids at a Montessori and Walforf based school and I wish I had had this education, as I suffered in regular public school so much. The difference in how my kids are, especially their confidence in the world, is profound.

The Greeks had the right idea: Educate the whole person. A Liberal Arts education is best. Specialization can come later.

If your going to be an Actor,yes liberal arts is an ok major but not practical, I know many people with a liberal arts degree a d they can't get a job.So actually the opposite is true,specialize in something marketable, so you have a stable career,then you can always go back to school,a d dabble in the arts. Most people that want to become actors never make it.It takes talent, perseverance, you need to be able to handle rejection because their is alot of it, luck of course, and being at the right place at the right time

His mother who worked and raised the children by herself Sam never talks about his father but he does about his mom and siblings brother and sister♥️♥️♥️♥️his mom did a fine fine job of raising Sam and still doing a fine job that’s why Sam is the person he has become and everybody loves Sam he is about as Special as a person can get our gift from God for sure!!!! I pray that Sam will never be hurt by any air head woman which in his career there r plenty around with a lot of baggage!!!

There are Waldorf public education charter schools in the United States. How they manage to teach the Waldorf pedagogy combined with Common Core is beyond me.
The charter schools’ Steiner impulse is dampened but at least they are striving! We have one in our little rural valley of western Colorado and it is growing quickly.

It sure is! You also would have learned correct sentence structure, word usage and grammar.
He seems very humble and not caught up in the Hollywood hype and I pray he stays that way.

OMG ! 14-15 hours of filming for Outlander ! It's inhumane ! In other respects, it's very clear that the years spent in school had a major impact on his further education and development both professionally and as an individual...Those years were not SPENT TIME at all, on the contrary , he's been taken them seriously and they were a gain for Sam in all respects... An open mind , a broad range of knowledge combined to make-up today Sam WE ALL LOVE AND APPRECIATE...

Oh man ; are we proud of Sam, ( superhero, future bond!). Cat must like this as well. This is her thing . He’s on board with this. Cat continues to go on about fitness and the gym being unimportant. It is a big part of your best friends life, girl. It’s healthy. Mothers need exercise and to be fit to chase little ones and to keep healthy for them. He looks terrific and remains strong and healthy for himself( so what! ) and also for his loved ones❤ 😅

"Was he reading from a script?" was actually a comment one of the teachers said after watching the interview. It is genuinely his own reflections.
