Best build I've ever used, thanks again for taking your time to make videos like this, I wanted to ask you, I love this build I really do but I wanted your opinion on Forceful Arrow, is it worth it or could I replace it with something and if I did what would use or recommend?
For patch 1.1.1 I was planning on swapping forceful arrow out for poison imbuement. I also tried using caltrops instead of forceful arrow recently and that was pretty fun. Poison imbuement is probably necessary once they increase the health of the bosses this week.
I saw that in your maxroll build that you have both dex and all stat on both your sword and xbow. Are those better to run now over crit dmg imbue? Hopefully we get a fully updated version of your build soon!
For the all stat the important thing is to get enough stats to activate the rare nodes on the cheap shot board. Looking at it more you could switch the all stats to critimbue on the sword, but should keep allstats on the xbow in order to have enough to activate. Dex is arguably better than critimbue for this build as we're only running 1 imbuement. Switching the dex to crit imbuement on the xbow would give about 3.8% more damage on imbued skills, but 7.1% less damage on non-imbued skills. I'll update the build in 1.1.1 as we're probably going to have to switch back to using poison imbuement instead of one of the generators if they do the boss health changes, and crit-imbue will become more important than dex in that case.
Twisting blades is generally better at everything in the game than any ranged build. This build will have almost the same success rate for clearing t100's as twisting blades, it will just be a bit slower.
I ended up not liking the barber gem. Not being able to proc lucky hits for umbrous was not fun, and I also found the shadow decoy to be very effective. I just updated the maxroll to have the decoy gem instead of the barber.
Edgemasters is good, in the preseason what I would do is have a different crossbow with edgemasters to swap to when it's a single target fight. For general clear I would use the 90% richochet, and then for single target elites I would use edgemasters. I didn't set up an edgemasters crossbow yet in the season because I didn't have another crossbow that was on par with the one I was using.
Very nice man! I see you dont use the barber like your build does say? Umbrous wont proc for me when i use the barber... and what do you think of The Vile Apothecary? Nice run!
Ya I tried the barber briefly and I ended up not liking it. Umbrous not proccing was not fun, I'll probably switch the planner to run the taunt blue gem instead now that I've done more testing this season. Vile apothecary does have some potential, I have a couple builds in mind I wanted to test it with. For this build I didn't think I had enough skillpoints to put enough points into the imbuements to make it useful, but if you wanted to switch the build slightly and put more points into imbuements I think it could work.
@klepter3865 agreed. Barber feels clunky for me and not proccing some of the good aspects bothers me a lot. I like vile myself and thanks for the paragonboard peek 😁 Will try to use eldritch board after the cunning board for vile. Again nice run man!
I’m new to d4, I started playing a week before season 1. I’ve only played rogue. I was looking at the skills and all the builds online were just dps builds, no utility. But smoke grenade has always been so enticing! I don’t get why it’s not in more builds! I hate twisting blades, so I’ve been playing flurry. Flurry/rapid fire with cold imbue. I’m level like 70 now. But i want to play this smoke grenade build man! Awesome stuff brother awesome!
This build is better for doing higher nightmare dungeons. I actually used poison and shadow imbue for most of the levelling process, but I changed back to this build once I wanted to farm higher nightmare dungeons as it works better for that.
do you think there is any possible change to make it a aoe build, i like the concept of range and would like to quickly clear dungeons instead of single target while also maintaining range, any thoughts?
Yes Some things you could try are using shadow imbuement instead of either forceful arrow or smoke grenade. I used shadow imbuement for most of levelling until I wanted to do higher nightmare dungeons. You could also use the barber wrathful gem for some aoe explosions, but I didn't like using the gem as it wasn't proccing any lucky hits. This specific build is for completing high nightmare but if I were to focus on aoe I would put more points into both their imbuements and their passives, and use the vile apothecary wrathful gem.
In this video I was using the 20% damage suppression gem, the shadow decoy taunt gem, and the crit damage gem. For the most recent patch I'll probably be switching one of those gems to the barber as it was buffed by a lot.
I'm surprised as well as I only had like 8k health at level 87 haha. I tried to get rings with lightning resist on them to help with the lightning affixes.
@@jaychantsiri6732 I just made a new video with the updated 1.1.1 build, for a full run in a dungeon. The build is shown at the end of the video and there's a planner too.
Thanks! Ya I wasn't sure how early it would be possible to do it so I wanted to try. I'll probably be testing other builds / doing other challenges once I reach level 100 as it'll be too easy then.

How do you find this xompared to the twisting blade build ok difficulty clearing 100?

how do you push enemies? can someone tell me
That's forceful arrow, one of its skill passives knocks back non-elites
Your max roll build has barber. Are you not using it in this video though? Isn't better with barber?
I ended up not liking the barber gem. Not being able to proc lucky hits for umbrous was not fun, and I also found the shadow decoy to be very effective. I just updated the maxroll to have the decoy gem instead of the barber.
@@klepter3865 thanks, bud
just curious why no edgemastes? is the extra offensive power it brings not really that significant?

Theres many you can do. He's doing this at very low lvl that's why he's playing like this

Nice. I am struggling with Tier 60 as level 85....
Ya I was having a tough time in nightmares as poison and shadow imbuement build, once I switched back to this build it was much easier.
PVP build incoming? 👀
I've been meaning to test it out in pvp more, it seems people are interested in seeing that so I'll probably work on that once I hit lvl 100.
amazing!

@@klepter3865yea but your gear and skills have MASSIVE damage reduction
@@metalrayne1 Ya the 10 points into dark shroud probably helped with that one 😀

Are you level 100? it would be a lot easier than in this video to have more max hp. I also had a lot of damage reduction on gear when I ran it.

Nightmare Tier 70 as a level 87 you mean, there is no difficulty increase going above that so Tier 100 is meaningless.
