What a beautiful and authentic performance by Anton Birula. Best of the best of Silvius Leopold Weiss's Passacaglia D major. What a beautiful song it is! Amazing!
I have been in this musical world for a lifetime and I believe this is the most beautiful sound I have ever heard in a plucked instrument. Your sensitivity and interpretation is beyond magical. Thank you for taking the effort to produce such a spectacular recording with the 4 track. I have forgotten how wonderful a recorded sound could be. Bravo Anton!
Not only is it a beautiful rendition auf Weiss' Passacaglia with a beautiful tone (sound), but the video itself is magnificently composed in photographic terms. Almost like a still life. Wonderful, thanks for sharing! :-)
Such feeling and gentleness communicated in this wonderful performance. Weiss is one of my favourite composers and this a lovely piece. Thank you so much Anton. Bravo.
I am glad that I found this video. Truly beautiful Passacaglia by S.L.Weiss played by Anton Birula. Impressive ten variations touch my heart. Thank you, thank you.
If I think that I found this master piece of music and musical rendition by pure accident... This is sooo beautifull!!! Never heard of S.L. Weiss before starting to browse for lute music: I truly love this music!!!
I couldn't avoid noticing the very intricate rose of the lute... I came looking for the piece... I really love Weiss' music, and i recently wrote a passacaglia also in D Major, for the baroque guitar.
Excepcional interpretacion. Gracias. Es una interpretación excepcional.
I've never heard lute music before but I'm hooked since watching this series of videos ,it has the quality of a piano a guitar ,and even a harpsichord ,as a guitarist I can't imagine hoe difficult it must be to tune this instrument let alone play it ,,,thanks
The Strat is a world in of itself and proves the vast and varied history of the fretboards. I have lutes that date back to the Hittites and Ancient Egyptians.
I have a fender stratocaster and a telecaster, even If I'm a bass player, but after watching this video....man..I want a Lute! lol.... (another instrument I love is the Erhu, from china)
I am very much enjoying this interpretation, your delicate touch on your gut strings is wonderfully captured by your analog tape recording; so how about an analogue LP alongside your future CD for those gut lovers among us who still have analogue systems? I am looking forward anyway to your future CD. Best regards
tks for your answer Anton, the audio is PERFECT ! not "oog" or "very good",but PERFECT. :-) I see your Tascam running...are you using preamps for the microphones? sounds so good...
I've listened to this several hundred times .and this solo lute is the most beautiful thing Ive ever heard.

Piękne wykonanie wspaniałej muzyki

Congreatulations

Wonderful performance! Amazing sound! Beautiful setting, I love the tape recorder..
Rich, noble, and resonant. A magnificent performance. Thanks.
Hermosa interpretación, qué paz.
Candle light, lute, tape to tape, an organ and an electric guitar. Its like looking at a painting by Chardin. If he'd had a time machine.
Thank you. Beautiful ! I like the way you touch the instrument.
Anton is incredible!! Glory be to God!
Maybe God does not like the lute at all? Maybe he prefers a ukulele?, Or a mouth organ?
Quite superb
So beautiful. Thank you, Anton!
Awesome interpretation that takes us inside the beauty of Weiss' music. Thank you!
Mesmerizing. Love it.
Wonderful performance of the Weiss Passcaglia, thanks for uploading!
Cheers,
Wilson
Wonderfully performed. Very soothing.
That sound !
Just Great
amazing and beautiful each melodic line!!

easy to tune, physically harder to play than guitar (lower error margin i.e. it requires more precise movements with errors being much more obvious).
Ravishing!
I love this piece, and this is my favourite recording of it :-)
perfection ! bravo Anton !
if I'm not wrong ...the ibanez behind..is a made in japan model..from the 80's...
it is!
Very nice!!!
Stunning and expressive performance. Volume is quite low, however. Cheers!
Nice sound!!
The Tascam matches the human ear parametrically when reproducing music hence the better sound over digital.
Well done
Sjajna interpretacija
Why can you make such beautiful tones on the lute? Only with the fingertips?
Only:) thanks!
...и Стратокастер вписался как родной :)
forget the stratocaster Anton...the Luth is better ;-) just kidding...you are an amazing artist !! bravo bravo bravo ! fantastic

Dear Anton, may I ask whether or not this maybe is a copy after Schelle (1744)?
Good question... It is based on Hoffmann I think plus Lars' creativity;)
This is based on Hoffmann and Lars Lonsson creativity;)
@@antonbirula6750 Superb sound, as always to expect from Lars' instruments. I had a swan-neck by him with a body after the (Warwick) Frei
Muy bueno, no....EXCEPCIONAL !!!!
Anton are you recording in stereo? or with a second microphone to get the "air" (ambience) at the recording ?
I record in streo one on the right and one on the left . As less ambience as possible.

_Yes! In that perfect day my GOD in the name of your son Jesus!_ *BEAUTIFUL!* 😁
