Thanks for making this, it was really helpful. I've been just dealing with the broken Bluetooth on my 2013 SXT until now! I pulled the Bluetooth module according to your instructions, which were great, and just cleaned the contacts with some WD-40 electrical contact cleaner, dried it all out with my air compressor then plugged it all back in. I turned the car on and let it run for about 10 minutes before I plugged the module back in. I did this while I was remounting the module. Once everything was plugged back in, it all worked perfectly. If it fails again, I'll plan on replacing the module. Thanks again for helping with this nagging issue!

I tried taking mine off and cleaning but still didnt work. I searched online but couldn't find one and I think a new one cost $500+. So a light bulb went off and I went to a local junk yard and found one on a 2012 Dodge Charger they had in their yard. It worked instantly. Thanks for the video!

Before I took it out I tried what another commenter suggested and pulled the #37 fuse in the trunk(there’s a handy plastic fuse pliers under the cover). That didn’t work for me. I lost Bluetooth as an option. Another commenter suggested cleaning the contacts on the module. I used an alcohol wipe and that worked. Now BT is working!
@@inene8079 The ECU breaks down due to voltage surges when the battery is almost discharged. When it is about to break, sometimes by disconnecting the fuse it reprograms itself and works for a short time. I solved it by having it opened inside and repair two capacitors. Then I had it reprogrammed with the update provided by Mopar ( service buletin 08-055-17 REV. A GROUP: 08- Electrical DATE: September 15, 2017). In Italy with 80 euros. Bye.

Although, the pairing did seem a bit stubborn and laggy, so I think the unit is going out. Just wanted to share in case anyone needs a temporary fix if they don’t have the money to buy a new unit.

before replacing try reflashing the module. I had this error and what fixed it for me was I found a German site for Journeys that had the same problem, basicly what you are doing is flashing the module like the dealer would. You do have to have some electronic, computer skills because you have to either get the connector or make one to connect the module to your computer. If your interested let me know, I am not the original person who camew up with this fix,hes the guy on the GErman forum. I do see people on youtube using his method and not giving credit. I am making this because I am trying to get let people know they can do this them selves and not pay some guy that stole the software.

Before you buy a new module. Unplug module start car. Turn car off and wait 5 minutes with doors closed (sleep mode). Plug module back in start car and test. If module fails numbers do not need to be exact but close. 2011 - 2013 modules are interchangable. Edit: Most 2011 modules won't have text messaging

And Voice command doesn't work too..... do you think it's my module? Do i have to replace it like you did ? Please help me
Honestly Uconnect's quality sucks big time, first I had to replace the screen as it didnt respond to touch, then bluetooth. Plus it freezes from time to time.
@@JoseOrtiz-fz6hx I found one on Ebay but I was lucky, and then it broke again. I now just use it on speaker with Siri's help, and for music somehow it still works through the cable usb port, although not perfectly so sometimes an AUX cable will do. I hate Uconnect.

I had the same problem 2018 SXT Dodge charger just says Bluetooth initializing. With no end. The car has two fuse boxes one in the rear trunk with the battery and one in the front engine the fuse for the radio is number 37 cavity pull the fuse for 5 seconds plug it back in voila Bluetooth is working without any part replacement without any taking apart your dashboard. In fact it's working better than it ever worked. There was a delay in connecting the Bluetooth which is no longer there.I advise anyone against replacing the Bluetooth module before checking number 37 fuse in the rear trunk cavity, for the radio.

i have a 2010 charger i had the head unit replaced thinking that was all i needed and unfortuantly the person installing it didnt bother to help me after they knew i still couldnt use the dvd or bluetooth , So how will i know that this box is there, before taking this apart ?

My Bluetooth has not been working for 4 months and I recently changed my battery last month and when I put the new battery in there the Bluetooth started working as normal for only 2-3 days after but than stopped working again... you know why that happen?
I had the same problem, after changing the battery it played back again for a couple of hours then off the grid again. Followed the video (which is actually impressive and easy) tried to re-install the same after unplugging it. worked for the media Bluetooth but not the phone speakers, so finally decided o get a new one.
Essentially it’s like the old phones or like a sega game you took the battery out and it reset. I took mine to the dealership and he said it’s a short term fix if the modules bad it won’t work for long at most a few weeks.

I tried to look off your video but it was hard to see since you weren’t recording for that reason lol

..mine does the same thing and when my car is started, the sys boots up in constant search mode. i noticed i didnt have battery problems until when my module went out. I found one on ebay. should be here on Nov 13th.
Check your battery man I had the same issue blietooth would not work would stay frozen I changed my battery and it’s working good now.. check your battery to see if it’s good and the right size
@Lethal I bought a new truck😐. But prior to that, I just bought a small, inexpensive Bluetooth receiver that I plugged into the auxiliary port, and that worked out just great until I decided on the truck.

Check your fuses.

depending on the price its probably just not worth the time and money just use the aux port

Mines does the same thing and Voice response button on steering wheel doesn't work either. I heard it could be a telematics Module.
Someone told me they disconnected the battery terminals and put them back on and it fixed this problem.. which sounds a lot easier
It’s only a temporary fix. I’ve been doing that the past 2 months and now, disconnecting the battery doesn’t fix it anymore

Ok I unplugged the module without unmouting it. Plugged it back in and bingo it started working again.
