"Doki Doki" is supposed to be like the sound of an excited heartbeat.
This was their first single, music video, etc.
BABYMETAL was still a sub-unit of the school themed idol group Sakura Gakuin.
It was this video blowing up on social media that helped BABYMETAL start to go viral, especially outside of Japan.
The 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' DVD single was released October 2011.
Suzuka was thirteen, Yui and Moa were twelve.
Pretty much everything that followed was because this video unexpectedly blew up.
Their original budget was so small that Su's coat was borrowed from one of the Sakura Gakuin teachers.
Moa's vest was borrowed from Yui, and Yui borrowed hers from fellow student Raura.
The girls taught the skeleton dudes the dance moves themselves.
Unfortunately they haven't performed it live since Su's 'Legend S' 20th birthday concerts at the end of 2017.

That is unfortunate. I love all their early stuff by far the best. I'd rather see Doki Doki Morning, Catch Me If You Can and Uki Uki Midnight than anything off their later albums.
This song came out in 2010 and in the video Su-Metal was 12 years old, she was almost 13 when this song was released and now she is 21 years old, she will be 22 on December 20th. YuiMetal and MoaMetal were 11 years old and now both of them are 20 years old.
The cartoon intro into the metal riff has got to be the greatest genera mashing device of all time.

It's not Tomate but "cho matte", a short form of "chotto matte", which literally means "wait a bit" and is mostly used in the sense of "give me a minute".
The song is about girls waking up late in the morning and struggling to get ready in time for school. Hence the "ring, ring, ring" of the alarm clock. In my early time with BABYMETAL I felt a bit strange listening to this, but I evolved quickly. :-) Such an adorable song.
The beginning part is my alarm clock. It's interesting that I don't wake up in a bad mood anymore!

@@martinmetal7481 So correct! Now allow me to expound a bit on my original comment. I got into BabyMetal shortly after they exploded on the world stage in 2014. Wanting to learn more about them, I descended deeper and deeper down the foxhole. This journey took me beyond Sakura Gakuin to Keren Girl's, where I came upon the story of their performance at Saitama Super Arena. Having never played so large a venue before, the two older girls, Ayami Muto (first Sakura Gakuin class president) and Yuika Shima, were understandably a bit nervous. The younger Suzuka Nakamoto however was so confident that she decided to take a nap and slept so soundly that someone had to wake her up before the show. What hit me so hard about this is that there is an eerily similar story told about Alexander the Great the night before the Battle of Gaugamela. It was then that I realized what is so special about Queen Su. She possesses that intangible something that is the spark of greatness.

Any time I want a quick mood lift, I go to Doki Doki Morning. Another really fun Babymetal video, especially for the choreography, is Catch Me If You Can BABYMETAL BLACK NIGHT LEGEND DOOMSDAY
I find most Black BabyMetal to be fun (in some manner). As much as I love Su, it was always so very nice to see Moa and Yui in the front, singing.

The smile on your face says it all. This song is my alarm tone, cause whenever I hear it I smile like you are. I don't want to be alarming, but when I hear this song, I do tend to believe that it IS a Doki Doki time.

Great reaction and managed to say what i was thinking of commenting while you watched video. How fun it was and brings a smile to your face. How much fun they looked to be having . From playing in little venues( food hall summer sonic) to the Tokyo Dome and sold out venues world wide . Who whould of know? Well the fox god did 🤟🦊🤟

They had basically no budget at the time, so it had been performed live a very good number of times.
I don't know how it happened, because I wasn't a heavy metal fan at the time, but I saw this video right when it first came out. I think maybe it was because I was a big Die Antwoord fan? Anyway, RUclips knew I was into some weird shit, so it recommended this. The rest is history. BOW TO THE FOX GOD!
If nothing else, Babymetal always bring a smile to one's face. But of course, there's so much else too. There's some good live footage available of this song.
if you want to go back further watch the karen girl's (su-metal's first group) doing "over the future". follow that with yui and moa's audition tape for sakura gakuin, dancing to the song, and finally babymetal's live version of the same song. it's quite an evolution, and a special moment for yui and moa who were big fans of the karen girl's and of suzuka especially. to be on stage with su-metal doing that song was a dream come true for them.

Man, watching this again for the first time in months. I can't believe Moa's transformation over the years into the beautiful exotic woman she's become. Recent tour videos especially.
There was a time I thought the girl in this vid (young Moa) got replaced for the "Gimme Chocolate" vid and on.
Su's jaw line has changed slightly in the last 3yrs due to her dental surgery to have more of that Hollywood perfect smile. I myself loved her double Fox yaeba's.(overlapping canine fang teeth)
Now when she smiles.........it's a whole different attraction to her.
Aaaand of course.....sniff =( we fans get to see the very young kawaii Yui. Can't wait to see what she does in the next faze of her life.

Yeah... I remember being mildly disturbed when I finally saw Babymetal live in 2017 and couldn't help notice Moa was starting to get breasts.
Still hard for me to think about them as women now.
I have seen that video when it was released. I loved it but i needed nearly 3 years to realize that this is the best projekt in the world :D . Best band is reserved for Die Ärzte ;)
