If you are really serious about understanding origins of life, look at Nick Lane and Michael Levin. They don't quite get the embedded relationship between genetic information and bioelectricity. I'm trying to nudge the cutting edge of life science into a coherent synthesis. Biology is a 3D water-based computation system. Trying to shoehorn 3D genetics into a binary algorithm really doesn't mean anything. And as for "perfectly" modeling Darwin's theory, he himself didn't have the technology to see what he called "gemmules," but he did predict an EPIGENETIC mechanism for germline communication. That blows up the idea of ANY walk being random, because it is updated from generation to generation. Listen to Dennis Noble for subtle and actually intelligent evolutionary theory. His debate with Dawkins covers this explicitly.

Actually animals do copy other animals and learn even from their tools as well. We've seen birds use straws and sticks to lift objects and get food and drink, crows and finches being decent examples. Groups of birds even master their own 'local' skill-sets. Monkeys, and canines, DO use contemplation and reasoning AND values. Monkeys show an appreciation for fairness, and understand and punish/discourage deceitfulness. Orangutans and gorillas have even been shown to collect rocks to throw at daily threats (like people at zoos, or antelopes). Where does that appreciate for faithfulness and hatred of lawlessness come from? In that worldview, what faithfulness and lawlessness are simply your opinion because the entire game is the survival of the fittest.
