Thanks for the video. I always thought it calculated you attack then deducted the defenders decrease, then that’s your ‘final’ damage which it then multiples. There might also be an different way to do your calculation for any account. If you divide the additional attack by your current attack and it’s less than the damage increase, then damage increase is better.
Thank you! The ratio trick would work in theory now that I think about it. Regarding the final output, the math would be very similar as you could just multiply by the dmg decrease. Ex. 40% dmg decrease means there is only 60% of final output that would register in theory, so instead of subtracting 40% afterwards, you could just plug 6/10 multiplier anywhere in the equation. This video was just for atk vs dmg purposes ^_^
Very interesting information. I did a test with a 5 star Simon with Navy ATK and all unit ATK maxed at 60% for perks stacked with Akatora vs Simon 5 star no perks. Thought process was that if hero exclusive atk stacks with regular ATK in theory Simon would be a better option. It turns out hero exclusive skills are a separate multiplier. They dont stack with any of the ATK/DMG that you get from skills/comps/hero WAR or decor. Knowing that tells us that hero exclusive skills are actually far more valuable, at least the ones that increase the skill effect for heros that boost output, than say ATK or DMG on their own. I will have more info on that in the upcoming uploads.
@@stw103 Ok Thank you very much. I’m looking forward for the update. But there is still a difference between Simon (ATK) increase and Nimitz (Troop Attack ) increase or? Troop Attack is not ATK right ?
That was only accounting for added damage, he just added back the base attack of 100% to the multiplier. That way it’s attack plus the percentage increase
Thanks for the great video. I was looking for the maths behind this for quite a while now. Extending from this, how does this scale up to two heroes? Do we add ATK & DMG of both heroes, or is it computed independently, and then the total hit point multiplier is added?
Haha thank you! Heros Warpower converts into ATK multiplier so you would add that value into the ATK pile, same category. Hero special abilities are usually based of DMG, so when the abilities do apply, they just get added on top of the DMG multiplier. However, for heros like Amalia or Ben you would just add their bonus ATK from their special ability to ATK pile as well as their converted warpower. Also, as you can tell having more ATK than DMG provides diminishing returns in the long run. The key is to have a balance of both. From my understanding 2 hero bonuses are stacked together, so when your units fire, they should have the combined multipliers from both of the heros for regular hits. This is one of the main reason why Grand Marshal 3 hero march is absolutely broken and hence why they announced that all professions will get 3 hero marches. I hope this helps lol

Thank you for explaining that I never really knew how it worked. Could you show us how to figure out the amount of attack we need to beat someone's HP % and how damage decrease then affects it? Thanks again
Hey bud, thx for the feedback! The amount of attack ull need vs someone's hp will vary due to hero abilities. It would be redundant to calculate 1 hit attacks if you know what I mean. It also depends on your actual "hit" rate, crit rate, hero proc rate, etc. which is more statistics than factual math. I will however cover comps in more detail as well as other skills side by side to see which ones are more beneficial. Stay tuned! ^_^
I would agree on this as well. Also if you have any idea on how Valhalla units work with this. Jorm navy units have 100% dodge but it doesn't say whether this is added on to our full dodge built up already from comps and decor or not
there is one problem: how do we know the game multiply atk first? this order could be the other way around. i believe the atk multiplier applied after the dmg calculation. i don't know this for sure but based on last year experience, player with high atk more likely wins the battle. it's very difficult to know for sure without reverse engineer the app.
Multiplication is commutative, it doesn't matter in which order it is applied. 100 x 1.5 x 1.2 = 100 x 1.2 x 1.5. In an ideal world you would have the same amount of ATK as DMG: spread bonuses evenly, as the perfect square is the optimal way to combine them. But as the game has way more ATK boosts overall than DMG boosts, we consider DMG to be more valuable (it's best to boost the lowest stat of the two to "get closer" to that perfect square situation)
Basic of math. At start counting you have 100%, and to this value you add bonus that you have (110,5; 312,5; 60,5). And you have result: 583.5 overall dmg
Would you know how DMG Decrease scales? If I had 99% DMG Decrease and gained 1 more %, would I become invulnerable? In theory of course. I just wanna know if every DMG Decrease % gained is exponentially more valuable than the last.
4.835 is additional bonus, if u have 1 apple, 1 x 1 is 1. If you have additional 4.835 apples then its 1 + 4.835 = 5.835 apples, which in turn can be calculated as 1 x 5.835. Hope this helps!
