The initial pickup of the rock is also a launcher for knuckles awakening which makes it great for knockdown combos even if they ragdoll cancel
The hammer throw for Amy still allows for some cheeky M1s or another one if their special moves but usually people can still move out of hammer throw if they dodge to the side in time.
Starved Eggman is not necessarily hiding anything, it’s just about predicting if someone uses ragdoll cancel or not once their opponent is knocked down, they can grab instantly on wake up (this is just considering base form). It’s safe to say you’ll utilize M2 a LOT
Furnace is able to extend off of knockdown with any of their moves. This goes for base and awakening (mode)

knuckles 1 isn’t a true extender you can block it and it drops the enemy a lot cause janky air combo
