Great tutorials overall and in this one I've found answer for my big question on installing gate between two walls. Thanks for clear and detailed explanations! Greetings from Croatia :)
excellent and clear instructions and easy to follow - always keen to learn and listen on how installs are done by everyone- many thanks for your video/ evan - aeon features group-
This seriously was so easy to understand and the video illustration very creative. Well done and thank you, I can now tell the Hubby its straight forward LOL. I feel like even I could do it!!
thanks for describing the importance of the footings. could you advise how to install a around the corner sliding gate as I have a wall after the opening at 90 degrees
Awesome videos Grant. You’ve assisted me immensely in building a sliding gate. I’m wondering how many footings on a 6m concrete section on a sliding gate? How deep should the footings go in reactive soil? Thanks.
I still couldn’t imagine your swing multiple fold pulley system. I do have a gate that needs to be folded to 4 on each side. I throughout my search it seems that your the only one that have a theoretical solution for it.
Hi there I have been watching your videos over and over again because I really enjoyed your presentation. I am now thinking of fabricating and install my gate myself. Any chance you can put up the sizes of the extrusions that you fabricate the gate with or maybe another video to explain the material sizes?
great effort and great presentation, thanks for all your advice. do you have any tips when installing the sliding gate track on a concrete driveway but the surface of the footing is not flat level cause the driveway goes upward. thanks in advance
A "U" shaped guide bracket works as well as a guide post and is normally a cheaper options, it's just if the gate is to be the same height as the fence a guide post is less visible from the road.
Hi , thanks for the great explanation video. I am using 10 mm I beam as footing for my gate on top of the farm soil. I am making 6 m door with 2 m hight. Any suggestions and tips would be appreciated. Thanks again. The I beam is 12 m long.
If that's an I beam with 10mm thick steel that will be a very strong footing although sounds like overkill to me, a simple concrete footing could be much cheaper to do.
@@automaticGatesExplainedgday bra , I have a 4.5 m drive way and only 4 m sliding space , do I need a folding gate ? And do you know how much for the gate and the motor coast ? Planing to do the installation and concrete foundation myself. Thx u
@@beyondreamtime420 A two panel telescopic gate will do that, they start from around AU$4000 for a DIY kit that's if you're in Australia, otherwise I can design one for you and provide full workshop drawings for around AU$1000 so you can get a local fabricator to make it for you.
Question for you... I am about to pour a driveway and then install a sliding gate. The driveway will have a bit of a pitch to is toward the street naturally. My question is "what about the track, does it have to be on level surface and that level surface match the other level surface in the form of the footer run for the gate travel behind the fence when it opens?"
If you watch the video to the end you will have had you answer at 9:38, although since making this video we now use an aluminium gate track with a profile that can handle slope from the direction of the road better because it allows the wheel to be on more of an angle, see www.grantsautomation.com.au/index.php?quote=299 for a picture of the profile.
Hello! What would the footing need to be like if all my driveway is concrete? Does there need to be any groundwork for the tracks? My single gate is 350cm width
If there is reasonably good concrete where the gate is to travel and the path of the gate is in a straight line, then the track can be screwed directly to it.
I wonder if you do consulting ? Perhaps you can help with my gate "blue print" help me trouble shoot and just provide general guidance? I'd rather pay for your consulting and learn myself than hire a contractor. Thanks for the video!
The distance the track is from the back of the post depends on how much gap you want between the gate and fence posts. Check out grantsautomation.com.au/index.php?page=64 on my website.
I really like the way tutorials are are delivered. Precise, accurate and at a pace not to fast to absorb information.
Hi i am gate manufacture and motor installer since 2013. I leaned lots of information from your video. Great❤. Thanks
Hi m8. How far do you normally set you conduit away from the wall as mines going under the new drive way ?
Outstanding job! It's clear this is a well produced thing. I love it.
Best series on the internet. By far.
Thanks and congratulations on your amazing efforts throughout this series.
Three years late, but I am finding it useful, installing one. Thanks.
Glad it helped
Amazing tutorial. I now feel confident about digging out a trench and running conduit before the asphalt guys come in

I will be making a video about safety devices such as safety edges at some point, thanks for the suggestion.

Fantastic advice. These guys really know their stuff.
What an effort, great presentation.

I meant to start my gate 1 year ago , and here I am looking at how to do it :)
Thank you for this informative video!
Thanks for the video! Now I know exactly what kind of gate I'm going to make for my home.

Do the tracks for the gate have to be placed on top of a concrete surface? or can you use Wood planks or another type of surface?
Does the footing and pad dimensions apply if you install a cantilever gate and not one that uses a track?
Very useful.

Any advice for a sliding gate that needs to turn a corner? it needs to be installed on a corner that is at about a 45 degree angle to where it slides.
Swing under ground motor installation video pls.❤❤
Would the footings need rebar of any sort?

I need a drawing for the sectional sliding gate. Are you able to help please will be much much appreciated? I am from Sydney.
Thanks 4 great idea

you're welcome
Is there a specific distance the track should be installed from the post?

which software is use for animation ?
Thanks
Hi what size frame (box section) would you need for 5m sliding (opening is 5m) gate at hight of 2m with upright bars Ann in steel
Thanks
40mm square hollow section steel with 2mm wall thickness for the frame and 40mm x 75mm rectangular for the bottom rail of a sliding gate.
Please show a video where the tracks make a turn
I will
hey man i just lern from you how to do it in slop good i dea my frend.
Brilliant
Do you recommend a brand for the motor and track
There are many good brands of sliding gate motor and track, the thing to avoid is really cheap motors found online.
website?????

Haw about the last stopping
Sliding gates must have a hard stop at both ends, this is covered in other videos on this channel.
Good
👍
Sounds like a swing or hinged gate would be easier
I don't think I've ever seen that many colors in one person's facial hair.
You focus on weird things
