Wow, man, this awesome! It's great to see a new remix from you, and I'm glad to hear that you were able to get your computer working again, though it's rough that you had to deal with those aggravating issues for a couple weeks. On the plus side, having the time away from remixing can be a nice break, and it seems like it gave you some new ideas that you wouldn't have otherwise had! Some advice I always see for creators of any kind is to step away from your projects from time to time, and I can see why - I used to think I'd get out of the groove, or that I'd forget the next steps I wanted to take, but coming back to a remix-in-progress after several days helps a person's ears to "reset", so to speak, and might give them renewed awareness of rough spots that they would have overlooked while being heavily into it. Anyway! This intro is really well done, and I like how it has kind of an ambient fade-in, and it reminds of scenes in movies where the boxer/fighter is about to step into the ring, and everything around them becomes blurred and the sound gets filtered down heavily, to draw attention to the person, and maybe their thoughts or breathing - like a big build-up of anticipation until that first punch is thrown at 0:11 and the fight begins! You do such a great job of creating these scenic moments in your music, and I really envy your ability to do that! The flow of the song is, as usual, phenomenal. The way the music segues seamlessly between intense and chill really creates the feeling of breaks between rounds, or moments where the person is backing off to regroup or recover for a period of time. And yet, the overall drive of the song never seems to lessen, which seems like a really difficult balance to achieve. For instance, when you had the drums drop out at 1:04, that retro synth playing the moving, rhythmic part helps to keep the motion of the song intact, while you having these warm, ambient pads and bells creating more of a distant, dreamy kind of sound. I love that beat that comes in at 1:29! Maybe I say this too often, but that's one of my favorite beats that you've created, and that side stick/rim hit on beats 2 and 4 has an _incredible_ sound! If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to hear how that sound was created. The hi hat and kick rhythms complement that instrument so well, too - it's just a super-solid beat. And I'm also loving those zappy sounds used for the fills at 1:41 and 1:53 - they sound really cool and make the pattern even more interesting. Also, that percussion break at 2:49 to really emphasize that flourish in the melody was really effective, and it makes that finale sound all the more impactful before the song begins to wind down. And man, that's exciting to hear that you got a new guitar, and that you might be able to include recorded guitar playing in future remixes! I have no doubt your shredding would fit perfectly in your remixes, and I always admire when people integrate their own performed parts into the music. I'm sure the muscle memory will return quickly, either way! Also, unrelated, I want to mention that the background looks great here! The artists did a fantastic job creating that nighttime fight club atmosphere from the original Vega stage, and it brings back those nostalgic memories! (I'm pretty bad at fighting games, by the way, but I did enjoying watching my older brother play through Street Fighter II Turbo) Once again, fantastic work, Neon X. Your remixes are always on another level! :D
Hey thanks for yet another heartwarming and analytic comment! Sometimes I feel you know more what I doing than myself haha xD I'm happy you liked the intro as I put a great deal of effort to get it to sound as I imagined it. I'm happy with the result of that effort so thanks for the acknowledge! About the rim hit: I found a decent one in the standard sound library that comes with my DAW. I modified it a bit with more gain, more treble, hall reverb and at last - combined it with a tambourine haha. But the final sound of it is really good. You should try it! The new guitar is great, we'll see how I come to use it in my remixes. Since I'm super happy with the lead synth I might end up recording chords, riffs and small fills. But as I said, we'll see :) Thanks for listening buddy, see you next time :D
@@NeonXGameRemixes Thanks a lot for taking the time to write the detailed reply! I'm glad these comments come across in the way I hope they will. :) Thanks also for explaining about how you made that percussive sound! I never thought to pair a rim shot and tambourine, but I'm the kind of crazy person who thinks that tambourine makes everything better, so I'll definitely be trying that out! And yeah, even a supporting part would be cool to hear with the recorded guitar - I honestly don't blame you for wanting to keep your lead synth sound, because it sounds really, _really_ good! In any case, thanks again for the response, and I'm looking forward to your next project, as usual!
