It works against weaker players as an intimidation factor. 2. The coaches are paid to produce winners, not raise good human beings. 3. The kid's parents are probably interested in results, hence why they condoned this. That said if you look at Khan's latest matches, he seems to have completely given up the cmon's. Good for him.
