I heard that MTD standed for More Time Down.. since i was always taking it to the repair shop for warranty. That's what there mechanic told me. Finally got me a commercial Honda. Best investment
Our own lawn mower is a Troy-Bilt, which is MTD's "entry level" brand. They all have a Briggs & Straton engine which is one of the best engines there is for yard appliances.
It depends on when you buy them. The last few years they were made by husqvarna but now they are made by snapper. In a few years who knows who will be making them...lol
I needed a mower in a hurry spring of 2012. The best I could get that day was a$300 Toro self propelled with a Kohler engine. Plastic geared wheels and all. I use it almost every week for 1-1/2 hours. This is 2020 and it still starts easily, almost always on the first pull. All I have changed is motor oil and one drive belt. Even the spark plug and collection bag is original. I would say that is great service.
I've worked in small engine repair for 5+ years and have never seen stripped plastic teeth on Toro wheels. MTD and Husqvarna wheels on the other hand are notorious for the plastic teeth stripping out.

I dont understand the relevance in mentioning his race? Instead, both invented rotary lawn mowers (Budding being the first by around 69 years) Buddings involving a heavy iron roller. Since you forgot your mans name, John Albert Burr created a rotary lawn mower that was much lighter, had better traction and improved rotor to prevent clogging with trimmings. Dont over simplify something to make it relevant.
i worked for a dealership that sold White brand mowers (an MTD subsidiary ) . they where not as bad then as they are now . even so at the time i worked there the dam paint would fall off these things in the box
wooow they r freaky😍😍
I heard that MTD standed for More Time Down.. since i was always taking it to the repair shop for warranty. That's what there mechanic told me. Finally got me a commercial Honda. Best investment
I can tell by how they manufactured it… seems a little lazy with the tightening part
This was taped at MTD machines in Cleveland, Ohio.
I recognized the MTD Style blade hole.
Actually it was made at MTD in Kitchener Ontario I was on the line the day they filmed it
I was the one who sent this topic in to be reviewed
I miss Tecumseh.
there not as good as they used to be
I don't
The old ones i love. The ones made in their last 10 years of production were shite
Tecumseh is why I finally bought a Honda.
mine still runs as good as when i bought her high test gas only new spark plug never let me down store in a shed and empty during winter helps
Our own lawn mower is a Troy-Bilt, which is MTD's "entry level" brand. They all have a Briggs & Straton engine which is one of the best engines there is for yard appliances.
Honda is best, because it is toughest
Briggs and stratton uses plastic camshafts on their pressure washer engines. Do you really want that?
Had a pressure washer with a Briggs & Straton engine and it didn't last two seasons.
Yep. Thats what im talking about.
Honda blows everything out of the water. Fail proof motors, automatic shut off system in place if the oil gets too low
I can't wait until my mowers are made this way....wow
Those Robots are creepy!
Let's try that baby out on some Kentucky blue grass.
Very cool video, thanks for sharing!
Anyone note the label on the bending machine?
I think it needs a cigar.
cool video.
Yeah they do, Briggs is a great engine though for entry level mowers
I would recommend hondas more. Briggs and Stratton puts plastic camshafts in their engines.
@@andybub45 So? Chevrolet and BMW are putting plastic pulleys on their engines.
@@andybub45 hondas are coming with plastic cams more often nowadays. Already replaced 3 of them this year in the ohc along with the timing belt
Not to mention aluminium cylinders😮
where can i just get a LM body
2-cycles have the oil in the gas and so no problem there! Why the need to rag on Tecumsheh?
i would remove the brake completely.
What is that background music?
When you get an ad for a lawn mower after u tap on the video
how r the workers made?
That’s an entirely different channel bro
I have alway said that bigger wheels in the rear looks bad.
Honda Commercial lawn Mowers but I still always like Tecumseh there good engines
It depends on when you buy them. The last few years they were made by husqvarna but now they are made by snapper. In a few years who knows who will be making them...lol
china
i got a new mower and bought some metal/rubber wheels because on my last mower the one of the front wheels cracked in half cheap dumb plastic
"Fill it up with gas and your ready to cut your lawn".... For about 5 minutes because it also need OIL. 🪔
I can remove the brake. Any time
Yeah I prefer Toro mowers but even their cheaper models have plastic geared wheels

The cheaper Toros are built to compete with the likes of Murray, MTD, and other Walmart brands. Costs and quality are reduced to enable a lower price.
I've worked in small engine repair for 5+ years and have never seen stripped plastic teeth on Toro wheels. MTD and Husqvarna wheels on the other hand are notorious for the plastic teeth stripping out.
Robots stealing jobs
I bet craftsman runs their mowers for a break in period before they package them...
Words to live by: Powered By Honda.
Somebody tell me where you can buy that exact mower
+legostar55 nowhere new anymore, tecumseh has been out of business for a few years now
Rinker262 DAMMIT. That is one of my favorite brands and styles of lawn mower
Rinker262 I was yard machines still had the same style of deck and wheels. and they used to be black and not red.
I try to stay away from a push mower lol
yay! tecrapsa engines!
David S did you come up with that one yourself?
lawnmowerdude Nope, it's well known.

That virtually is tin foil. Mower decks should be casted.

Mowers made in 2020.... Plastic Plastic Plastic and more cheap plastic parts for planed obsolescence .
I have done very similar with Woodglut designs.
Modern mowers are made of crap thin metal and cheap plastic engine components
Look cheap .
Craftsman are still cheap as hell mowers that arent durable at all
Tecumsheh Sucks there early engines are nice tho
A black man invented the first push lawnmower. She didn't mention that part
A black man was the first mower. That's where Black and Decker came from.
Lol source?
They were invented by Edwin Beard Budding

I hate MTD.
