    We have pushed our ZOE about 2.5 km to the next charger at 3 in the morning in Italy. But we were three adults, which makes pushing easier...

    • @eDriver
      @eDriver  6 лет назад +1

      The problem was, it's going uphill. I tried to push my Zoe too, so it's waway from the road. I can push it very hard only 1 meter, than it was too much..
      You 2.5 km? wow, that's a big trip... haha

  • @rolandgoodman8255
    @rolandgoodman8255 5 лет назад +6

    I did 419km with 16 km still remaining on the GOM in my R110 ZE40.

      Cool! wow... The good thing is, the R motor is consuming less energy than the Q motor.
      But still, then you drove very very carefully. I was looking for an Q motor very long and that's quite hard to find in Germany. Only one Renault dealer in whole Germany can offer that Q motor. All other have only the R motor.
      For me the almost double charging speed was more important, than the lower consumption.

      It was urban driving. My normal routine during one week. I was obviously being extra careful in not unnecessarily accelerating and using regen instead of braking.

    You can set the Tom Tom Sat Nave to avoid motorways.

    • @eDriver
      @eDriver  2 года назад

      yes,... Motorways, in Germany are called "Autobahn", but the Roads on the Video are no "Autobahn", it's 4 line "Bundesstrasse", (federal road).
      By street law it's the same, rules like "Motorways", but in the navigation it's not counted as a motorway.
      Well, Renault just makes hard life for cusomers ;-)

    Great video, vielen dank. I live in the Netherlands in a rural area with a lot of small villages around me, very flat country and I hardly ever drive faster than 60 km/h so the Zoe would be ideal for me. I have PV on my roof so I could charge with solar on sunny days between 10 and 16 hours and charging would be very cheap for a round 5 to 6 cents per kWh (feed in tariff). I do not have to drive every day and mostly short distance so the R engine would probably be better for me than the Q version. I have a very limited budget so I am thinking of buying a second hand Zoe with a buy battery (I do not want to lease) for around 10.000 euros or less. So if I buy a second hand one and I can make a small test drive what should I look for so I know that the battery is still in a reasonably good condition. Do you have any tips on what to look for or pay attention to when buying second hand? I already subscribed to your channel and I hope you can give me some tips/advise. Grusse aus die Niedelande!

    • @eDriver
      @eDriver  5 лет назад +3

      Hi Ingeborg, yes you are right. If you drive only short distance and don't need quick charging on the road, the R engine is much better!
      Because the Q engine have a slightly higher consumption, but therefore it can quick charge with 43 kW instead of 22 kW.
      If you have solar panels on your roof, you don't need quick charging possibility, because the max power coming from this panels will never be that much.
      I thought about buying a 2nd hand Zoe too, but there was no Q90 2nd hand available, that's why I bought a new one. Quick charging is very important for me.. :-)
      In my first 365 day with my Zoe, I drove 50.500 km. So waiting to get charged with 22 kW is no option...
      If you buy a 2nd hand Zoe, it would be good, if you check the battery health before buying it.
      You can do this with a Smartphone app called CanZE and a Bluetooth dongle. See this video: ruclips.net/video/e4_4R3eB9is/видео.html
      You can see "state of health" of your battery in percent. My battery has 94% after driving 67.000 km. and 95% quick charging with 43 kW.

    When car stops you can turn it off, then turn it on in 2-5 minutes and it can run a little bit.

    If I understand the sequence of events correctly, from the time it started displaying "--" instead of kilometers of range, you were still able to drive another 20 km without charging, until the car stopped completely? I searched out this video because I was curious of that very question, how much has Renault put in as a safety margin. Not that I will count on that in a real situation, but I am curious.

    • @eDriver
      @eDriver  6 лет назад +6

      Yes, something between 15 and 20 km was left, when the dashes --- appears.
      They building in some security and also the power was limited.

      @@eDriver Thank you for sharing! A few days ago I drove Zoe like 2 or 3 km after the "--" appeared, and my pulse was pretty high! If I would have known this I would have relaxed slightly more.

    • @eDriver

      thank you!
      Yes you are right... But believe me, when driving electric car and having cruise control, it's just relaxing driving.
      Without cruise control, I can't drive that slow and constant. Without cruise control, you feel always pushed, when somebody is driving behind you very close. But with cruise control, you don't care about that. The car is almost driving by it's own ;-)
      Even with gasoline car, cruise control is saving a lot of gasoline. My last 4 cars I always had that. And if it's not pre build in, I build one in, by my self.

      Yes, it's not good for the state of health of the battery. But never mind, it was a test an the battery is not mine.

      I have done a drain test until both indicated SOC and the "real SOC" on CanZe said 0% but I did the last bit parked at the charger with the AC on max. Couldn't kill it, they were both indicating 0% and it was still moving! What I did was stop the experiment the moment the lowest cell voltage went under 3.00v. It's under 3v that li-ion is at risk of degradation
      Indicated SOH is 84% (it does have the updated BMS) and when full it only indicates 18kwh or so available energy but I still got over 21kwh out of it 🤷🏻‍♂️

    can you not push the e-car yourself, is that not possible? Great Video Alex :)

    • @eDriver
      @eDriver  6 лет назад +4

      Sure you can. I push it 2 meters by myself, to be away from the driveway. But it was slightly going uphill and it was very hard.
      The Renault Service will only send someone who have training with electric cars,. So in case of emergency, they know what to do with the high voltage system.

    Do you rent your batteries in German?

    • @eDriver
      @eDriver  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Avelino,
      there are two options. You can buy it or rent it.
      Buying costs 8.000 Euro for the 41 kwh battery pack. I choose rent, because so I am safe when the battery gets damaged, or whenever it is 75% capacity I will get a new one. Also whenever I am running out of juice, I just need a phone call and the tow car will bring me to the next working charging station.
      I choose the biggest option with 119 Euro per month. With that I can drive unlimited kilometers. Since may 2018 = 11 month I drove already 47.000 km.
