It is safe, but you have to make sure that you clean the entire shoe evenly and allow it to dry in the sun. I always recommend not using too much water, because you don't want to oversaturate the material.

It won't, but it is super important to clean the entire shoe evenly and allow it to dry. Also, don't apply a ton of water to the shoe because it can leave water marks.
i say red thunders cause the fire reds turn yellow on the netting so fast its annoying and the red thunders show no sign of wear is terms of discolorations.

your best bet is to get a few reds and whites, then mix until you find the right shade. Chili red is probably a good place to start
