P.S. It might not seem like I broken in the Caps enough, but I can assure you that they're smooth sounding from arms distance. As mentioned in the video, it's best to take more time to break them in with LOTS of typing tests :)
So the golden yellow caps are just thoccier? I currently have the Gateron Milky Caps on mine. It's been on my keyboard for more than a month now and I'm loving them.
@@silver1838 I got some milky cap yellows for a few keyboards for my family and they are a bit scratchy but nothing that you would notice while typing unless you're looking for it (mind you I type on unlubed keys normally because I like a bit of scratch). Also if you film them it's like typing on pillows.
@@silver1838 I grabbed some films from KDBfans but I don't think it matters too much. I would look at some reviews to see if you notice a difference tho.
The normal yellows should be available at kbdfans or novelkeys (always my first stops), although I appreciate the milky lighting that comes through the milky yellows
This video would be much better if you actually showed us the sound of all of them before lubing. I guess you didn't lube the yellow top housing because it already had lube but why not show us unluged yellows. I wanted to hear how they sound stock :/..
If you game and can lube yellow inks are probably for you. They have a shorter actuation distance(around 1.5) and a little more weight to balance it. Yellow caps on the other hand have the bog standard 2mm, thocc hard out of the box, and are nice to use stock. They arent special for gaming and might be a bit light if you're a typist, that said it's a good compromise between reds and blacks.
Never understood the complaints about the Gateron Yellow’s bottom out sound. They are cheap switches with a lot of housing wobble. Filming them makes a world of difference.

What are the other mods on the keyboard aside from the switches?
Hi! Maybe you could include bottom out force on the switches now that time instead of only that accusation force
Actuation* force, but yes you're right!
I just ordered the yellow cap milky v2. There were pretty affordable, and I think anything is gonna be better than kailh's red cratchiness.
Would you recommend the yellow top or the milky top ones?
good review, but most gateron switches actually come with pom stems.
Have you tried the cap brown? Wonder if they are as good as a deal like the cap yellow.

notice any issues with scratchiness or pinging?

@@russaz09 i’ve never filmed switches before so I really know nothing about them. What films should I use?

How do these compare against tangerines, I wanted to get tangies but there out of stock so I might get these
Do Gateron Milky Yellow CAP V2s suffer from north-facing interference on Cherry Profile keycaps?
How do these compare to the yellow inks?
worse
though its pRefErenCe
yellow inks have a shorter travel distance
Every mx-style switch i have yet come across had POM stems.
Where can I get the normal yellows with a clear housing so the lighting comes in better?

gateron smd switches

can these be put in a hotswapable board?
what type of hot-swap? If it's a regular 5 pin or 3 pin hot-swap pcb then yes, if it's an optical pcb then no.
Can u do gateron ink v2 yellow vs gateron golden yellow, I do not know what to choose for my first custom keyboard @Romsicle

@@RitzyBusiness I was about to ask the same question. Thank you for this feedback!

@@Pikachu123OP my mistake! Thanks.

razer PBT keycaps will work on them?
Yeup
good video. Just a small tip. Don't use the word "cheap", it implies poor quality. Instead use "inexpensive" which implies lower cost at good value.
Which keyboard is this that you use on tests?
KBDFans CNC 60
I got the v2s on the wayyy
Bro the regular gat yellows lubed sound smoother than the 2 cap options haha is that just me??
No bro not just you. I also watched a couple other comparisons and its always the same... Gateron Yellow all the way!
Is it a tedious process to lube switches? If it is, I'll just get these pre lubed switches instead of getting Gateron Yellows and lubing them.
Yes. The materials are differnt. The milkys sound lower pitched but they have slightly less friction.

what are those keycaps?
Bruh my tangies are coming tomorrow
NICEEEEE Im getting my creams tomorrow :)
No cap?
NO CAP
yo why does ur keyboard sound so weird. LIke the switches sound so scratchy but they shouldn't be
All switches sound scratchy if you put your ear close to it, especially when it hasn't been used all that much.
wow
bad binding
