    I am awestruck by the quality of your design, the engineering professionalism you're demonstrating, and the quality of your video production. All of it. The information content in your videos is staggering. One of the best channels I've ever come across.
    I feel like I've discovered a Michelan-star chef is cooking in the restaurant down the street from me, and somehow nobody knows it. The All Knowing Algorithm will catch on to the quality of your stuff soon, a just universe demands it.

    Stainless steel work hardens, making it incredible hard. Perhaps if you rubbed the wire contact points on the mating surfaces, it may work harden;

      You can surface harden it using friction. You see this when drilling through stainless. If the drill gets blunted and you persist in trying to drill through creating a lot of friction, when you sharpen the drill bit and try and continue the stainless has become almost as hard as tool steel. I chastise my students for not changing the drill bit early because of this, if you don't keep the drill bit sharp when drilling through stainless then you end up spending more time before the job is finished in sharpening.

    You mentioned the urethane roller is an OEM part, did you have any link to it or explanation what it is/was originally?

      Hi Jaakko, here's the first rough draft of the BOM list for the MK2 design: baxedm.com/mechanical-bom-of-mk2-wire-edm-machine/
      The Urethane lined roller is in the list. Its a standard part from Misumi.

    How do those pinch rollers not deform the shape of the wire?

      They do deform the wire, however only the spent waste wire, so the deformation is not a problem.

      Ahhh! So the wire has already done the cutting by the time it gets to the pinch rollers. 👍
