thanks so much for the tutorial. just picked up a 70 Monkey Ward with a tiller attached and need to remove the tiller and get it running. now i know how
I have the 12 horse machine I have a few carburetors but they all leak out that bottom filter looking deal any idea what that would be ? Everything I read says it’s the float but idk I’ve taken it apart many times can’t ever get it to not leak any tips would be appreciated absolute beast of a machine they are ! I have the snow thrower and mower deck for mine
My first thought was the float as well, but the float seats the float needle so its possible your float needle needs to be replaced or needs to be cleaned out so it seats properly... I would suggest installing a carb kit and a good cleaning. Hopefully no one that owned the machine before you damaged it... I wish you luck! These machines are a lot of fun.
@@fearlbridgefarms9409 there is another one near me I’m looking at getting but running out of space I’ve got about 5 mowers already by chance if ya have any pdfs or anything sort of manuals I’d be interested in seeing if possible! Thanks for the reply I know older videos can sometimes get lost and any help in the garden tractor community goes a long way ! I’ll look into the float more tho I gotta be not seeing something right
I have a 1973 16 variable speed with a tiller and I'm hoping you can help. The magneto wasn't working...no spark. Normally not a big deal to place the magneto BUT, I see no way to remove the fan shroud that surrounds the flywheel to get at the magneto without pulling the engine! I ended up putting an external coil on it but I want to place that magneto. Briggs has one PN: 39881 that once installed does away with points. Somebody please tell me I'm wrong about pulling the engine. Also, mine has a toggle switch that must be flipped before starting it with the ignition switch but the ignition switch will not turn it off, only by the toggle. I'm wondering if anyone else has a toggle or why it's even there. Lasting...a wiring diagram! I've researched many but none that match my tractor.
good morning, I do have a parts list and wiring diagram for a 73.. if you go to my youtube channel.. there is an email address... email me and I will email you back with it. 👍
I am currently looking for a tiller for my Montgomery Wards Hydrostatic 15. I don’t know much about these tractors. Do you know if there is a tiller that is compatible for these that is available on the market? The old unit I bought has the Moldboard plow, Chisel Plow and Dozer blade it would be fantastic to have a tiller.
They are great machines. As far as a compatible tiller, these machines have specific mounts and drive connections for their own machines. If you found an old sears/craftsman tiller, that would work because they were self powered with thier own engine mounted on the tine housing. If you want it powered by your tractor's engine, and dont want to do major modifications, you are stuck looking for a gilson or Montgomery Ward tiller... Thanks for watching!
My friends tiller attachment won't raise up. I believe it to be stuck because of rust. Do you have any tip on how to solve this issue? Great video btw. ^^
I have the 14HP Montgomery Ward Tractor and just watched your video of hooking up the rototiller which helped a lot. I just bought a tiller for mine but am a bit confused how the driveshaft connects. The tiller has a short shaft connected via universal joint but not sure how it connects with the long driveshaft. Also the lifting rod you connect, is that specific for the tiller (I don't have one) or is it used on other implements as well? I just recently got my sickle mower working with mine. Thanks
Thats awesome! welcome to this extremely fun additction.. haha.. your best bet is craigslist and facebook marketplace. These little gems are hard to find. Let me know if you need/want to see anything with these machines. I have done lots of work and reseach on them... thanks for watching and have fun!

Beautiful machines my friend!, that squire has a very nice patina to it. I’d love to have that wards with the sickle bar mower in my collection!
Such a well put together video 👍🏾
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for watching! I would go with PB Blaster for rusted stuck items.
There’s a 16 in my area with a. Tiller for 250 are these worth anything and is it 13hp?

Awesome video! Me and my 12 year-old son have just got a 14 variable running and need a tiller attachment. Where can we find these older attachments?
