    @RichardGarcia did you feed the same amount of keep food on rest days?

    • @richardgarciaschoolboy7746
      @richardgarciaschoolboy7746  7 месяцев назад +2

      Yes. I also fed supplements all the way through the keep. The harder the work the more food they got

    So glad to see you on your own format.
    I'll keep the rest of my comments on that subject to myself, but great content

    I'm excited to watch this video, but before I even start to watch it I have a question. You may have already addressed this but, can you speak to adding a carb to the feed...meaning what's it TRUE purpose (most say that it's just a filler) Is adding a carb, that's to be used as a filler, even necessary. And lastly, what would be a good carb source, such as brown rice, sweet potato...things like that
    And last question...have you ever heard of someone using avocado as a healthy fat source in a keep? Thank you! 🙏🏾

    • @richardgarciaschoolboy7746
      @richardgarciaschoolboy7746  Год назад +1

      Carbs are energy. Kibble manufacturers add carbs as a filler to cut costs but many food sources have carbs in them like honey,root vegetables and legumes. I used brown rice,others used sweet potatoes,yams or pumpkin. Avocado is a source of fat but can be toxic if you give too much. Animal fat,fish oil or avocado oil are better sources and some people used a combination.

    What are your thoughts on if you stay ready you don't have to get ready

    • @richardgarciaschoolboy7746
      @richardgarciaschoolboy7746  11 месяцев назад

      Regular exercise and good feed is staying ready and I did that with all my dogs. Any athlete that stays fit is better than one who's weight fluctuates from inactivity.

    Again great and useful information, from practical experiences and also well explained, without the need for university education🙃
    Can not better!

      It's very important because it helps build a bond,separates the muscles into groups,relaxes them which relieves stress,forces toxins away from their muscles and let's you know if they have any joint,tendon or soreness problems.

    Mr sb how can you tell if a dog is right handed or left?

    • @richardgarciaschoolboy7746
      @richardgarciaschoolboy7746  Год назад +1

      Hunterman covered that in a vid and I think he said whichever side they favored that determined whether they were right or left handed

    @RichardGarcia Over 20 years ago I as a teenager had a little brindle male I miscalculated his weight I called it 40 lbs he was more 35 i competed against a black and white male weighing little more there was a guy with funny color hair he had lots of knowledge I didn't have my dog jumped out the box yet I called him to jump out also and boy was he happy I called him his name was head even after then I rolled him hard at most people surprise he was to young I didn't know it at the time he was unconditioned and I DIDN'T KNOW MUCH AT THAT TIME this was in the backwoods of Mississippi at my parents house me and my dad there I wish I could see that guy again because even though I don't compete AT ALL ANYMORE I got some good dogs and a little knowledge now

      I think alot of people start out that way,myself included. Don't know how to condition and choose the wrong weights. It's a learning process but if we're dedicated we'll learn. It would be nice to reconnect with those times and people but you have great memories and those never wane. Much respect to you.

    My opinion getting a dog to his best in conditioning it starts with knowing what ur dog is even capable of doing then u goin know how to work him i got a 35 day Kentucky keep and i made my own 28 day keep off the 35 day keep if i working a dog that take its time pase its self i work it with the 35 day keep but if i working a dog that likes to go a 100 all the time i work the 28 day keep with the 28 day keep the work will increase over the 35 day keep but it will be more in sets and that barn stormer will be able to go that distance if need be and getting ur dog in good condition is not jus working him feeding have a lot to do as well because any one can run a dog on a mill for 20 minutes swim for 10 or walk 10 miles but feeding ur dog and making sure wen it comes to that work its strong and can go the distance not bringing in sumting to perform that looks good but weak as hell so feeding has alot to do with the keep as well 22:57

      Very good comments. In the past many dogmen used a 4 week keep and I have too. If you raise your dog yourself you know everything about it and he should be taught how to work or you should know what he likes to do. I appreciate your input. Good stuff.

    Great video. The end is important. If the body is not fully recovered before the next workout, you are injuring therefore you will need to rest even longer pretty soon you’ll have to take a whole month off if you don’t recover and keep working out, things will definitely get worse.

    Another important detail is hydration before and after the workout, what the water must contain and how long after the workout it is given to the dog. This detail contains many mistakes even experienced people make.
