Ah yes. the Land Mobility Mech Deployment System or LMMDS for short. its got CRAMS on top so I figure its Western in nature and boy do we love our acronyms
@@Kolljak it does deploy Europan troops endlessly so yes very much western, whilst the other one is Euruskan which was also crippled in a prior attack or ambush, this one must be cleaning up the scraps left behind
This is what a landship should be not just ‘BIG TANK’ but a mobile fortress, with the artillery, mechs and infantry the power projection of these things must be RIDICULOUS, and I’m pretty sure the tubes on the back look like they could spit out cruise missiles too, fuck I love this game
Last "Mobile Fortress" upload there were so many neg comments from armchair experts poo-pooing the design of this behemoth of a war construct. They obviously don't get The Forever Winter's setting and think it's a tank. They didn't seem to realise the Europan faction utilise every and anything they can to build their machines of war and this is a prime example. They're glasses nudgers, 🤓 who seem to think these were built during our own military industrial complex, not by AI and people who can't even grow crops anymore.
Plus, from what it looks like these Mobile Fortresses are exactly that: Mobile Fortress. Not something you deployed to make a breakthrough, but something to anchor your own offensive around. The one in Scorched Enclave stays well outside combat zone. The one in Ashen Mesa is broken and clearly abandoned by now.
I didn't see that many negative responses. I think the design makes sense if you imagine it as a centralized artillery unit. A lot of the features seem similar to a modern oceangoing warship, so literally a "landship". It probably performs a role similar to a missile cruiser, just one that bulldozes a large swathe of friendly territory whenever it moves. Though the other ones probably should have had more CIWS turrets.
It would be extremely practical building one of these machines in Forever Winter's timeline because it's basically a mobile base that allows the rapid production and deployment of new mechs and vehicles directly onto the battlefield in a timely manner, and it provides all the benefits of a mobile fortress or landbound ship, capable of bombarding huge chunks of land.
@@johndane9754 Ashen Mesa. When you first spawn in by the city ruins, it can be seen very slowly moving into place. I don't think you can see the treads move or anything. Its slow enough that its only noticeable if you watch the tower position in relation to the pipe infrastructure in the foreground, and its not longer than 10 seconds before it reaches it's position and stops.
It looks abandoned, although at 1:40-1:41 infantry comes out and there a mech patrolling around it. I want to imagine that this is still being used as a FOB.
That's the one in Ashen Mesa. If you get close enough, you can see that it has a huge hole at the bottom that you can enter through, as well as tracks that are broken off. So yeah, it's most definitely abandoned and is now just another part of the battlefield.
It's definitely not abandoned because when you first load into Ashen Mesa, you can clearly see it move into position and then stop. It's one of the first things I noticed when first loading into the map, a massive warship moving on land far in the background before halting and deploying an army.
That's probably the point. In World war 1 for example, sea ship had camouflage, as before radar and line of sight was needed on subs, the patterns on ships made it hard for sub commanders to tell which direction the ships were moving.
This one is a lot more fleshed out than the 1st one. There is a destroyed one on one map and I saw w vid where the player was able to get on top of it and walk around. It as nearly totally traversable. sm

In one of the dev’s videos he talked about C&C and this thing gives so much MCV vibe.

Well now i want to see it move and shoot
@@antcow1239 You can see one move into the scorched(?) area if you're quick enough.
I'm pretty sure you can see them do so in the trailers, could be a different vehicle though.

Do more of Forever Winter exploration videos!
0:57 First time I’ve ever heard the radio dialogue clearly, I still can’t tell what they’re saying
_Something_ I’ll check it out real quick
I don't care how stupidly impractical it is. I just LOVE the idea of giant land battleships.
Это уже не танк, а сухопутный эсминец!

That thing is literally a warship on treads.
The luscious CRAMS on top of it are delectable.
I shudder to think what's the eurasian and euruskan analogue to this
Ok i really need that comparison with the mech ._. comically large tank fr XD
yep, still looks like a mobile command center but with more detail, glad me and a few friends guessed right with CIWS placements

I love how bonkers this game is
What a behemoth
You can see this in action in the cienimatic trailer around 2:40 coming out of the smoke

i want to go inside
Literal land Battleship

This might be a new and improved model, or maybe they added more detail since players can get closer to this one.
how to unlock camera?
Bro how tf put dreadnought on land
