True Story: One stupid question Safari Operators (Game Drivers) get asked by family groups is if their kids can ride the lions. Meanwhile, the lions are asking themselves: "Can't we just eat stupid people (and cull the herd)?"
This is THE BEST African safari vlog we’ve seen! Not only were the shots incredible, but the storytelling and your authentic reactions. Loved it! Great job!
Finally!!!!!!!!!! Since you shared about CapeTown, I’ve been waiting for the local review on the safari 🤩 as usual, always insightful & amazing video 🔥👍🏻
@@RhettandClaire just wondering, is the excitement visiting this one as good as Kruger’s? Visiting African Safari is on my bucket list but I didn’t know they have one nearby Cape Town!
@@izrelismail4790 truthfully, we don’t think anything can compare to the Kruger National Park, except maybe for the Serengeti. If you’re coming to Cape Town only this is a good option. If you have the time and extra money we do think Kruger is worth the visit.
@@RhettandClaire thanks a lot for your reply! It’s time for Cape Town for year end 🔥 can’t wait to see where’s next on your channel, usually it has always been one of those places on my bucket too 🤩
@@RhettandClaireI agree with you and will be going to Kruger with my mom next September with my mom. This will be her first time in South Africa. I have been on a couple of safaris in Kenya, Botswana and Victoria Falls. Where you went is nothing like going Where animals can roam free.
Hey guys, the kind of energy you guys bring to the video, it just makes me travel the way you guys do. It just shows how much effort you two put into to get the details we as a newbie travellers need. I am from India and I have been planning trips using your videos as reference. Great work guys.. wish you loads of healthy travel and loads of videos for us. 🤓
1) Nice to see you back home! As Dorothy said (in The Wizard of Oz): "There's no place like home". 2) Interesting that you call Safaris "Game Drives". I love knowing what stuff is called in other parts of our world, where English is also spoken. Thank you. Feel free to point out other dialectic differences between the English spoken in South Africa, and that which you hear elsewhere. I appreciate learning. 3) Question time, because you knew I'd have at least one: Was this your first game drive, Claire and Rhett? What is the beautifully-coloured birdie, at 17:24, please? I like to know what I am looking at, mainly because I have never seen such an animal! 4) Music at 14:10 is so epic, and also perfectly accompanies your travels.
FreeSpeechisMe: As far as I know, the word Safari is actually a (ki)Swahili word (east Africa - Kenya / Tanzania / Serengeti) derived from the Arabic word, to travel. A game drive tends to last a few hours. A full safari often involves spending nights out in the bush in a set-up, movable, tent camp as opposed to returning to a permanent brick building/lodge. It often tends to involve more walking than driving around (or, e.g. canoe'ing down the Limpopo River border Zimbabwe/Botswana: did that once, huge fun as long as your ranger is armed to scare off a roving, hungry crocodile or the animal responsible for the most deaths in Africa - a hippopotamus). Recognise the bird but would have to look up its name: I think it is a type of sun bird from the long beak. Sorry I can't remember birds off hand that well any more.
What a fabulous video of your hometown. Showcasing where you live is very special. Harriet and i are planning to visit by the end of the year. We have been planning this trip. Additional tips are always welcome. Thank you so much for taking us on this Safari Tour of the place where you live ,CAPE TOWN. Be Well, Stay Healthy ! Dear Friends ! 💕💕💕 Harriet, Jim and Yuki Richmond, Va.
I’m South African, if you want a proper safari please go to Kruger, the size and landscape are unmatched.. those ones next to Cape Town are dry and empty. You will just see animals
Hello, 안녕하세요 👋 been watching ur videos since 3 days ago 😊 this channel is a good discovery for me thank you for all the informations about SA 🇿🇦 can’t wait to visit there within 2 yrs! ❤ loads of love from South Korea 🇰🇷
Loved those battle unicorns. Tim just ensures he scores with the ladies. Like a guy with a Landcruiser and a beer. All just testosterocity. Boys be boys.
My dad has visited SA twice and went on Safaris. He told me about the guide they had on the game reserve of Mala Mala. He said he had worked at a nearby park for several years and never seen a leopard. When he was on his way into the Mala Mala lodge for his new job as a guide there he saw 2 of them 😂 so if you really want to see leopards, that’s probably the place to go.
Wow! I will be going to Cape Town and was considering going all the way to Kruger N. P.. and bam! Found your video so now will be going here instead of there. 🙌
This was a nice video but you will get a better experience at Kruger Park. I have been on a couple of Safaris and this camp looks more like an open zoo since they have fences. I hope you have a nice time and not be disappointed not going to Kruger. The people who are helping me plan my trip are from Africa. They are having me go to Kruger and not the ones near Cape Town. I will also be going to Cape Town. I hope you did your research and not only going here after only seeing one video.
this looks so beautiful - thank you for sharing! i see fences in the background of the safari - are the animals free like in the masai mara or does it feel a bit like a zoo?
I do not think they are free like in Kruger, Kenya,Botswana and others places in Africa. You should go to Kruger where they can roam freely. This is sad.
Great video. Just recently discovered you're channel. I'm thinking of going to Capetown november 2025 for the first time. I've been to SA but more in and around Krugerpark. I love to go to this lodge. It looks amazing! Is it safe for a solo traveler to drive from Capetown to this lodge?
No because if this place does walking ones than 3 days to 4. Kruger is better to go because these feel more like an open zoo. This is fenced so the animals are not in the wild. My travel planner never suggested to go here but to Kruger. I am also going to Cape Town too. When I went to Kenya and Botswana in 2017 I spent more than 2 days. I spent a couple of days in each place I went to. I feel this place is not a good one due to fences.
Hi, really love your videos, and I had followed your entire itinerary when we had visited Bali last year. We are planning to visit South Africa this June. Is it a good time to travel?
Hi we were thinking about South Africa but I have pelvic nerve issues so can sit on bumpy roads or go hiking. Is there more comfortable ways of seeing the animals without damaging my already frayed nerves. ?
I agree with you and I will be going to Kruger Next September. I have been to Kenya, Botswana,Victoria Falls and Malawi. I did not go to places that had fences and I would not go here because these Private Game parks are more like an open zoo. Also in Botswana I was in an open car with no cover on it. You get a better feel without a cover on the vehicle.
I agree with you that is why I am going to Kruger with my mom. I have been on a couple in other parts in Africa where they can roam freely. This is sad to me.
