The girls came up with this Miguel cover for one of their YG monthly evaluations in their trainee days before debut. Jennie and Lisa wrote the rap part of this cover. This was performed live when they had first released only 2 songs on debut, Whistle and Boombayah and was asked to present other songs which prompted the girls to dig up their trainee cover songs to perform live.
BlackPink did this Live Cover of "Sure Thing" 8 Months after Debut... Party People was a Live TV show hosted by JYP. As in man behind JYP Entertainment Corporation. Jennie and Lisa wrote the rap verse
BlackPink's cover is so good that at only 6 years old it already has 110 million views, this one reaches the original version that is 12 years old and has 140 million views, the best thing for me is ROSÉ's🌹 beautiful voice 1:36
This is the performance that locked me in as a Blink the first time I heard it. Seeing them perform live, with no choreography, no massive production, no outfit changes... it just drove home how vocally talented they have been from Day 1. Don't get me wrong, I love the big productions, this just showed me how multi-faceted their talent is.
I keep trying to find the right adjectives and all I go back to you each time is Moder Day Greek Sirens as I’ve said before. No way I’m not crashing onto the rocks following their voices
It’s just so nice to see and hear them without all the production usually behind them. I absolutely love their highly produced songs and videos, but these types of shows just emphasize how lyrically talented they all are! It is hearsay on my part but as this was early in their careers I’ve heard Jisoo had to learn most of her lines in this song phonetically as her English wasn’t as improved as it becomes later on. Knowing this I hear her Korean accent maybe a bit more than I would if I didn’t…but it and she are just so cute! Mr. Real McCoy, I absolutely appreciate you for all your enthusiasm and hard work on all your reactions…I honestly don’t know how you do it! 🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍🖤💜🖤💜

So 4 skinny girls sitting on stools,... singing. Mesmerizing!!! It really shows off how much of a backbone Jennie is in the group. For me, her voice carries the whole thing. All of them are fantastic! But Jennie is really carrying it here.

That back-and-forth rapping at the end was not part of the original song, Jennie and Lisa added it themselves.
