I injured my large for nail almost nine years ago putting my suitcase on scales at the airport. The toenail has been a mess since. I did get special seating on the plane because I was able to a manage to make a bandage with tissue and tape. Good luck with yours SH.
I know this is a late comment by a few days but if you see this I do have some advice for Slot Hubby’s toe. I am an RN and worked in a clinic and we dealt often with missing toe nails. Go to a medical supply store and get a cage to cover it. Put on Bacitracin and lots of cortisone ointment. Cover it all with a tube bandage. Tape at the bottom. Take 600 mg of Ibuprofen 3 times a day for inflammation. It should feel better in no time. You may get a new nail but you may not. Different for all patients. Good luck!!
