I grew up watching trucks on power block on spike tv, I watched every episode of this build!! CopperHead made me love these trucks and bonafide me as a car guy at a young age!
Great info on these trucks My Brother bought a 1969Chevelet C10 with 60thousand miles and all the paperwork and the History of the truck including when the truck was wrecked and all repairs and all matching numbers. He paid 24,000 for this gem no rust anywhere I have looked every place on this vehicle to see if the guy selling this truck was trying to pull a fast one but it is a original I did recommend that he gets the truck Z-barted to prevent it from rust scene he lives in Ohio . This truck green with a white top and no carpet just rubber floor mats. Very clean C10
I recently watched a video on a channel called Uncle Tony's Garage where he went to a friend's shop where they were working on a fake 65 mustamg convertible. The shop that had "created" it had taken a '65 mustang coupe sliced off the roof put a soft top on it and sold it to some unsuspecting rube for "near six figures". At first they thought it was real until they realized it didn't have any of the chassis reinforcements that a convertible would have.
Being an entrepreneur specializing in the 1972-1993 Dodge pickup market is challenging, the trucks are so rare you cant even find them in junkyards, and if you do, chevy and ford out populates them 20 to 1 haha.
That's because they were rattle traps. The late 80s to 93 got better but still. I love the square bodies but it's hard to find any good parts for the old dodges
Was able to see the difference from the phumbnail but then again I spent the best Saturday mornings watching you build project copperhead from start to finish
Maybe I'm thinking of a different build but I thought you took 2 stock front bumpers and made a custom bumper for copperhead. Looks like both of these trucks have the same front bumper. The changes I remember were suttle but noticeable
Clones/Replicas are fine, just don't pass them off as "legit" It's all in the details. I'm slowly building a clone-ish version of a Dakota RT... because theres not many legit ones left that haven't been cut up. NOW, they didn't come as a Quadcab nor with the 4.7 SOHC like mine. Even though Dodge sold in small numbers a 2003 Quadcab with the 5.9 from the RT, but it didn't have the suspension. Even though some will buy the RT wheels and say, yeah its an RT, when the OEM parts/build sheet/vin tag say otherwise. You have to be wise in this game today.
6:49 That's the problem with replicas, some people that are likely to con you aren't always that observant I'd noticed the Torq Thrust wheels right away, as well as the missing cutouts and that the center console and the gauges were totally different from the original Copperhead Though I did notice the other stuff that was different until Stacy pointed them out
Stacey looking like he should be flying a kite with a key tied to it. Come one Stacey, do yourself a favor and finally get a hairstyle. lol I still love ya!
Looks like whoever built the Copperhead replica did a fairly good job, just don’t be trying to pass it off as the real deal. And big kiddo’s to them young ladies and their carburetor rebuild operation!
Hard to tell because if I own a original I can do any modifications as I want not necessarily keep it original as a matter of fact the one “original” didn’t came from factory like that
I just want to build my own car. I don't want a million dollar trailer queen. I want to build something from cheap, scrap parts and make something cool. Just gotta get enough money together and find an old car to get started with. And that bead roller would be great for custom made parts. For now I'm just keeping my 96 Buick Roadmaster sedan on the road till i can get something older and better
I would think your first clue would be price. If you find what’s probably a 60 to 80 thousand dollar vehicle for 30 to 40 I’d walk. We could assume that maybe a individual looking to scam you would try to ask somewhere close to what an original would cost but if it’s a rare or no reference to what it’s going for price point be careful.
Sometimes it may be a case of a person not knowing they have a replica, such as a wife or something, or if they themselves got ripped off and didn't know it
The replica doesn't look as good as the original. There are visual flaws on it that makes it look slightly older. You have to look hard at both of them to see them. Like the front bumper on the replica looks like a rechromed oxidized bumper and the original looks brand new. There is a slight visual problem with the Driver's side rear wheel well.
To me, that's not even a good replica. That's just my two cents. Obviously, I won't ever own Copperhead, but the only thing to me that's the match between the two is the paint. It's more of a tribute vs. a replica.
Easier way to keep from getting scammed on buying a replica that's claimed to be original is just to not have enough money to ever buy a classic car in your entire life.
Last time I tried to watch one of your videos it had a do you want to join or something on it . And that would be fine except it wouldn't let me even get out of there I had to literally restart my phone in order to get rid of that message . I never did watch the video , because I couldn't find it after I restarted my phone .
That is sooooo cool, love that women are in the gear head game! more power. being a guy myself. I got a girlfriend loves to get her hands dirty. she helps in the home repair, and the garage work. got me a great woman for sure!
@@OfficialStaceyDavid thank you l have been following even before trucks l went to auto body vo-tech in tulsa oklahoma 1976 through 78 while in high-school you were a good lnspirational person to I could watch a while later and even now l read you in magazines
The stiching on the headrest of the first snake that was showed was terrible!! I hope it wasn't the real truck. If so 250k he better go back and snatch the person's arm off that gave the owner that offer.
Don Johnson drove a fake Daytona. Sucker was a body kit on a vet chassis. Ferrari sued their ass for it. The molds were sold to a chap in Tempe, it’s been 30 years since I’ve seen them. Probably in the dump by now.
Awesome show! Grew up watching Stacey on power block sat and Sundays! Loved trucks!
I think I'd prefer a replica. Something I can use and abuse without feeling guilty for possibly damaging the original.
Agreed
This is why I've always wanted to build a 67 GTO Replica/Clone. But even a 67 LeMans is stupid expensive now.
That's exactly how he drove the original after building it.
@@cavindent6973 exactly! That’s what he built the original for, not to be a trailer queen.
@@cavindent6973 lol that's Stacy tho. I don't have that kind of money or manufacturers supplying parts for me. But I happily would if I could!

I watched Copperhead being built back in the day on Trucks I love that thing! 💪
I watched when Stacey took it to the speed way
Me too this is way kewl
That Riley's rebuilding is super cool👍and she made the right call by keeping the drama out
that is awsome! Riley is amazing bringing life in getting people together great! to see kids getting into cars
Miss Riley gives me hope for her generation.

The original Copperhead and the blue v8 S-10 on ridetech air ride were probably my two favorite builds on Trucks!…
once again a great show!!!

I really really like that copperhead replica!
this was a pretty cool little episode here

Dennis has been doing this longer than anyone!
@@OfficialStaceyDavid don't forget about MotorWeek 😄
Great points to be aware of. BTW, that’s a very generous number saying only 5% are trying to rip you off. I’m much more cynical than that I suppose. 🤔

i thought the same. Stacey let that hair breathe!!! WTH is going on with that?
Ah là là j'adore quand est-ce que gears reviendras en France ça me manque trop à l'époque je vais appeler moteur juste pour regarder ça
I can’t believe you let someone else own copper head. That truck is so epic.
Looks like whoever built the Copperhead replica did a fairly good job, just don’t be trying to pass it off as the real deal. And big kiddo’s to them young ladies and their carburetor rebuild operation!
Especially to someone who'd followed the build of the original vehicle from day one, like I did
The most glaring and obvious difference in the bed is that the replica has oak wood and the original has walnut.
Hard to tell because if I own a original I can do any modifications as I want not necessarily keep it original as a matter of fact the one “original” didn’t came from factory like that
Ok.
Soooo when are you going to do something with the Catalog Camaro?
More often than not, since classics are expensive now, most classic cars are owned by people who didn't actually build them.
Sad.

Just borrowed it.
Mr. Stacey David where is the 1966 Ford Bronco Project Crazy Horse now? are you still the owner?
I sold it several years ago and lost track of who owns it now.

Bad idea putting you sticker on the box. Thieves love that.
An original numbers matching restomod?? lol didn’t even know that was a thing.
All my classic cars are original, because no one would build a car thats dented and worn out. lol
Fortunately for me, I wouldn't want either.
