To clarify, the Allied troopers got stationed elsewhere, because they refused to harm their new friends.

Minor point, there were no Nazis during WWI. They wouldn't start to appear until the late 1920s, and wouldn't seize control of Germany until the 1930s. Many German WII veterans, however, would go on to join the Nazi party.

Also, the armies depicted in the video are the British Empire, the French Republic, and the German Empire. America wouldn't start fighting until May of 1918. Sadly, there would not be any further Christmas truces, as both sides were considerably more bitter by 1915.

If anyone sees the green apple on the Christmas Tree in the beginning of the video, it has a symbolic meaning. It means that life comes with a price, what you do today will determine what you will be tomorrow.

America turned up in over 2 years later. On the Battlefield were British, French, Belgium soldiers against Germany, with Austria/Hungarian Empire. Guess what in WW2 America turned up over 2 years later again. The Christmas Day Truce was only British and German soldiers, Americans were still out of the war as usual. 🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡British Sabaton Fan 💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇸🇪🇸🇪

The truce same about as the men longing to be home for the Holidays sat in the trenches in the frozen mud and snow with their comrades buried or left littered over No Mans Land. Ger,man troops got to together with British (Bag Pipes) and French soldiers in No Mans Land to drink, play Football (Soccer) and sing while some even exchanged gifts. America didn't enter WW I till 1917 and this never happened again as the Generals on both sides made sure of it (harder to kill someone you share things in common with). A Christmas tune but also a cry to remember all the fallen of the many wars we have inflicted on humanity (11/11 just passed). As a vet a video that has me remembering fallen buddies who never made it home from Nam for any Holidays and hoping they are finally at peace while we continue the insanity. Floor Jansen (lead vocalist of Nightwish and wife of Sabaton's drummer Van Dahl) sings the beautiful Aria during the end credits, the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal collecting the souls of the fallen to bring them home to rest. Great song, great video and great band, you always experience the event that Sabaton sings about in their songs often about the ordinary people caught up in great events not the "important people" found in dusty old history books.

The USA didn’t enter the war untill 1917.
The guys in the trenches were British ( including Scottish welsh and Irish regiments) french, German, Austrio Hungarian and Russian I think.
These guys fighting in the trenches were ordinary working class men who had never seen warfare and bloodshed on the scale it was then.
They were doing what they were told to do by their commanders. Most who didn’t give a damn about the front line soldiers. To them they were dispensable and purely a means to an end.
All they cared about was gaining land, money and politics.
The soldiers didn’t hate or want to kill other they were very alike, came from similar backgrounds and did similar jobs. They were all missing their families back home and wanted the was over as quick as possible.
In the UK many tennant farmers, gamekeepers etc were forced to join up by their land owners if they didn’t they were thrown out of their homes and reported as a traitor. Also in many places if the man was killed his family were thrown out of their homes with no money, food or jobs.😡😓
So during the Xmas week of 1914 there were many small truces along the western front some lasting a day, some a week or more.
The soldiers from opposing sides shared food, drink, cigarettes etc some even swapped addresses and kept in touch after the war.
During the first few months of the war these poor men were dumped in muddy trenches with terrible rations, not enough amo, were cold wet and scared. They were stripped of their humanity and told their only role was to move forward, killing anyone in their way. Many were shell shocked, injured or mentally tortured by this time so this truce kind of let them be human again for a short time, let them share stories food and drink as they would have at home.
Horribly the commanders didn’t like their soldiers fraternising with the enemy and threatened to move or kill their own men if it continued.
Two if my great grandfathers and a great uncle served and died in the trenches along the western front. They wrote home of the terrible conditions and how they felt they were forever changed by their war experiences.
Sadly my Scottish great grandads body was never found neither was my great uncles. They were blown to bits amid the mud, blood and shell casings.

Bagpipes, Skottland. the states was not part of the war at this time, They joined later. One side ther was the Germans (Hannes,Joakim and pär) the otherside where the allies Britan (not only England, Chris) France (Tommy) And later the US.

France being the most distinctive, considering they're rocking the old INCREDIBLY easy-to-spot uniform of a blue coat with bright red pants. It took them entirely too long and far too many lives to realize that maybe a brightly colored uniform wasn't the best choice for that era of warfare.

Hitler and the Nazi's were in WW2 not WW1. The 1st World War was caused by Archduke Franz Ferdinand who was next in line for the Austria/Hungary Crown so he would be King. He travelled to Serbia on there national Holy Day which was the dumbest thing that he could do, a Serbian nationalist shot dead the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his Consort. Austria/Hungarian Empire declared war on Serbia, then Russia declared war on the Austria/Hungarian Empire, then Germany declared war on Russia then France and Great Britain declared war on Germany and her allies. The soldiers that met on No Man's Land on Christmas day 1914 were British and German soldiers who spoke to each other, drank, smoked, exchanged gifts and played football. @@2104dogface I know that Hitler was in the first week world war as a soldier, but if you understood what the geezer said..... He said about the Nazis were fighting us British, French and Russians in WW1. The Nazis were fighting in WW2. Everyone who has an IQ higher than 1 knows this. I had family that was in the British Armed Forces during WW2 so I know the difference between WW1 and WW2. Military history is a subject that I have been into for 48 years since the age of 9. Don't tell me about Hitler plus other later Nazis were in WW1 I know this as a 7 year old boy in my Junior school history class. That was Floor Jansen singing the ending credits, by the way. Sabaton lucked out that she married their drummer, eh? LOL
Oh, and the members of Sabaton almost always play the parts in their videos.
PS - I just thought you should know that if Jesus was a real person (which he may have been), it is highly doubtful that his date of birth would have been December 25, based on the information contained within the Bible. Again, based on biblical details, it is much more likely that he would have been born in the spring. Just a little fun fact for you. 👍

Yeah, it's likely that the early pagan Yule celebrations came from the ancient Roman Saturnalia festival, and then Yule was Christianized and turned into a celebration of Christ.

Great Reaction, for more on this topic there is a decent movie (2005) "Joyeux Noel" (Merry Christmas) shows the German, French & British (well a Scottish unit) , sadly when word of these events got out many units were punished and relocated to other sections of the line were the fighting was more savage. and then they made sure on holidays they would launch attacks and such. but the war took a turn and got more deadly esp once GAS started to be used in 1915 some soldier tried to repeat the event of 1914 but were shot .

Minor point No one know when Jesus was born most historians agree he was born in the fall somewhere around October. It's celebrated Dec. 25 because of a Roman emperor

I won't enter the whole religion debate because that doesn't even matter either way:
The question is not "why would they do this?". The question is "why would they not?"
